Does anyone know where I can get a transcript of the talking heads on CNN last night? I heard something that needs to be laughed at, but I can not find it.

Clark Stooksbury, discussing the Greek columns nonsense:
I’m not paying close enough attention to know if this whole Obamamessiah business is justified. For all I know, Obama might literally believe himself to be a Greek God; but even if he does, he would still be less arrogant than George Bush and most likely less dangerous than John McCain.
Heh.

I honestly have no idea who this is, but he claims to be Sen. John Kerry:
I know everyone is asking the same question, but who is this guy and where was he in 2004? If you ask me, this was the best speech of the night.
PS- It is about god damned time someone mentioned torture.

So how are people feeling now? There was a lot of doom and gloom after the first two nights, but I think things are going well.
I know a bunch of you hate it when they keep calling McCain their friend, but I am completely cool with them saying “John McCain is my friend” while positioning themselves to stick the shiv in. Rather than the obligatory Sun Tzu quote, how about Dogs, folks:
You gotta be crazy, you gotta have a real need
You gotta sleep on your toes, and when you’re on the street
You gotta be able to pick out the easy meat with your eyes closed
And then moving in silently, down wind and out of sight
You gotta strike when the moment is right without thinking.
And after a while, you can work on points for style
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake
A certain look in the eye, and an easy smile
You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to
So that when they turn their backs on you
You’ll get the chance to put the knife in.
I think things are going well. And Tammy Duckworth just flat out rocks.

We needed another one.
7:30 Maxine Waters got the biggest cheer in quite some time.
7:45 pm: Flipped to MSNBC and listened to Scarborough babble for 5 minutes. Next is Luke Russert. Back to c-span.
7:55 pm: The list of Senators who are dynamic speakers does not include Jay Rockefeller.
8:00 pm: I hereby declare this a PUMA free thread. They are more irrelevant now than they have ever been.
8:50 pm: Ok. It appears we are back. I switched to MSNBC during Etheridge, and I watched Tammy Duckworth lay some serious damed wood on John McCain. She ripped him a new one, and they need her out there more often.
9:00 pm: Big cheers for Bill.
9:28 pm: He was nicer than I thought he would be to the opposition.
9:52 pm: Do my eyes deceive me, or did John Kerry just throw some haymakers? Even more shocking, they landed.
9:55 pm: Brace yourself for some Sully love directed at the Big Dog.
10:35 pm: Biden needs to pick up the tempo.
10:47 pm: Biden’s speech is, by far, the worst of the night. Just seems to lack the pacing and, I dunno, something. It is just flat.

Seems this shin-dig is starting promptly at five pm. I am watching on C-Span for now, because I simply can not take any more babble from the pinheads.
5:27 pm: Ok. This is boring as hell, so I will talk about something else for a bit. About the ‘Greek Columns’ nonsense that the blogosphere seems consumed with today- have people simply not learned? Sure, the Obama campaign probably thought they were just using something nondescript that every fucking building in DC has, and thought it wouldn’t cause a problem, but what people fail to remember is that no matter what they did, the wingnuts and their surrogates would have a field day no matter what.
You really don’t have to read folks like Tom Maguire for too long (and I have been reading him for years) to realize that no matter what the backdrop was, he and others would be mocking it. If it were nothing but American flags, Tom and others would claim he is really over-doing the patriotism because he knows he is weak on the issue. If it were just a normal stage with a few flags, Tom and others would claim it seems like he is afraid of overdoing the flags because the left-wing base hates America and would be turned off. Heads they win, tails you lose.
So it is Greek columns in the background, and Tom and others are mocking it. I am shocked by this turn of events.
5:35 pm: This is really boring as hell.
5:36 pm: A republican turncoat is nominating Obama. There are a lot of us, bro.
5:38 pm: This Republican is nervous as hell. Also understandable. All those Democrats under one roof staring down at him? YIKES. Or maybe he is picking out the 72 virgins Soros promised him.
6:01 pm: Ok, this is actually kind of fun listening to them all add their own little spiel before voting. I think I was just hungry and crabby earlier. I wonder what the GOP Alaskan delegation will be saying during their roll call vote.
6:09 pm: The Hawaiian delegation was the best looking so far. Well, one part of the Hawaiian delegation.
6:20: The Louisiana delegation looks like the most fun to party with. I bet that woman makes a mean ass gumbo.
6:28pm: Pretty clearly, this will never make it to WV unless they do some passing and shuffling, which kind of sucks, because I might know some of the delegates. On the other hand, this state is going GOP again in 2008, so I guess there is no point giving us face time.
6:37 pm: I am doubling down on my bet from yesterday. After Hillary’s speech last night and after listening to former Clinton advisors Begala and Carville lament the lack of economic talk, I am betting that Bill Clinton unleashes holy hell tonight and rips the stuffings out of the GOP. Why? Because he can, and he misses it. Even if the reports are true that he doesn’t like Obama, I bet he gets up there and unloads, because no matter how much he does not like Obama, he hates Republicans more. Anyone want to bet? Going even farther, I bet there will be at least one point when he wags his finger and tells the people what the Republicans are saying and says “Don’t you fall for it.”
6:48 pm: And it is done. Obama is the nominee. Hillary moves to end the proceedings, and once again I don’t know how she does it. She actually looks like she is over it, and I don’t know how. There is no doubt she is a trouper.
6:54 pm: Love Train was an interesting choice.
7:01 pm: C-Span really is the way to go.
