Even those Americans not raised in Christian traditions usually know the outlines of the “First Christmas” story: A family of refugees show up, without the resources to house themselves, and are helped out by ordinary local people. Then, when the authorities threaten to (shall we say) break up the family with extreme prejudice, three wealthy foreign elitists not only give them advance warning to flee, but provide them the means to do so successfully.
The US refugee resettlement/integration infrastructure, built over decades through public-private partnership between government & faith-based & other non-profit organizations, is slowly being decimated as new policies slow refugee arrivals to a trickle https://t.co/KeryFVBsTc

As I understand it, Donald Trump was confirmed in the Presbyterian Church, and still professes to practice it (“I go as much as I can, always on Christmas… “). He’s certainly surrounded himself with self-anointed loud’n’proud Christians, who believe their “faith” gives them special rights to dictate behavior to the rest of us. Somebody needs to catch that bunch up on their scripture!
1. This is a really interesting untold faith story: faith groups across the country—evangelical, Mainline, Catholic, Jewish, etc—are shuttering refugee resettlement programs that have existed for decades because of policy changes by the Trump administration. https://t.co/Q29kXMaWJV

Inevitable Trumplodyte coda…
THANK GOODNESS! Taking money from the federal government to bring in foreigners and arrange for their welfare checks isn’t “charity,” it’s robbery. https://t.co/vEMbD8vyze

There are certainly lots of opinions on this topic.
That said, your profile image is Stitch, a literal alien who fled to the United States as a refugee from a foreign power who was eventually entrusted to the care of two individuals and a taxpayer funded social worker. https://t.co/UASlAihaV4
