An almost live action shot from the Tunch Cam™:
In other words, Saturday night is looking an awful lot like Sunday through Friday night around here.
On to something different, this paragraph in a story about pears confused me:
The Bartlett pear was the principal ingredient of fruit cocktail, which my generation back home had been raised on. But as the fruit cocktail died a well-earned death, the market for the Bartlett pear swooned. And that’s how I got into trouble. I came home and set out to rescue the Bartlett pear market, save orchard farmland from development for tract homes, provide myself with a decent supply of good poire williams, which was impossible to get in Oregon at that time, and maybe make a buck or two.
Since when did fruit cocktail die a well-earned death? I just had some a couple weeks ago. And why would the demise of fruit cocktail be “well-earned?” What is wrong with cutting up a bunch of fruit and chilling it? Is this just a snobby NY yuppie thing? Is fruit cocktail déclassé and I never knew it?
At any rate, doesn’t appear to be much on the boob tube tonight. I am either going to watch “W” on pay per view, do some gaming, or read. Can’t figure out which yet.

For some reason today, I have just been exhausted all day. I slept well last night, woke up at around 6:30, and have just been dragging all day. You know the kind of day- every little task is an ordeal, and all you can think about is a nap. Just no energy whatsoever. Blerg. At any rate, it has been a few days, so, kitties:
I’m going to go make like Noah in the second picture there. Claim your pets, and I’ll be back later.

I am headed to dinner with a friend, so here are some pet pics and a clean thread for you. First, a snapshot of Tunch from about five minutes ago:
And now some of your kids:
Claim your kids.
Two quick things, though. I was watching the Dog Show again last night, and even though I love Jack Russell’s, I have decided I just like bigger dogs. I loved the standard and giant schnauzer in the show (was Spirit something, or what?), I always like Boxers (I just love how emotional they are), and having had a friend with a mastiff, I just adore them. Sadie the Mastiff was the sweetest dog ever, although a total pain in the rear end to sleep with.
Second, I gave Tunch wet food this morning (some high protein low carb stuff by Wellness), and he made a liar out of me. He inhaled it. I swear he has always turned up his nose at it before. I guess I might make the transition to wet food. We need shots, so maybe I will get him on that M/D stuff.

So I picked up a FURminator deShedding Tool on the way home from work. Here are the results:
At any rate, I simply can not believe how much hair that thing pulled out of him. It. Was. Everywhere. And mind you, I brush Tunch every morning because I want to keep the hair down and want him to have a healthy coat, but this furminator just kept getting more and more hair out. When I finished, I had to take the blanket outside and shake it out and then throw it in the wash, as well as vacuum the room twice. It took quite the clean-up. On the other hand, Tunch’s coat looks and feels amazing now, so I highly recommend this thing.
BTW- I “introduced” him to the furminator before using it. I let him mess with the package for a bit, then took it out of the package and let him ignore it for a bit, then and only then did I use it. That seemed to keep my bleeding to a minimum.
In other news, my HEPA is now on suicide watch.

An action shot of Tunch re-furring the freshly laundered blanket that covers the futon in the study. MmmmMmm. Warm blankets.
I think his coat is visibly better looking after furminating.

In case you haven’t noticed, I am kind of burnt out and have been slacking. Too much going on and too much to do, plus kind of blogged out after the inaugural burst. At any rate, pets:
Remember that awesome video a while back of the dog on the water slide while the owner was away? I also really like cats that look like lions, for whatever reason. I also almost forgot, I am thinking about adopting a 3 year old cat who needs a home. He has been de-clawed (something I would never do), so I think I will wait awhile since I know those probably go pretty quick, and I will just pick up someone else if he is not around in a week.
PS- No, I don’t have an opinion about the stupid damned NY Post chimpanzee cartoon. I simply don’t care. Don’t buy the NY Post if it pisses you off.
