I heard the news last night at 12:45 or so when someone texted me, and then spent the next three hours unable to sleep.
After some thought, it basically boils down to this.
Fifty percent of me thinks he doesn’t have it and this is all some sort of stunt.
The other fifty percent of me wants him to die from it, but SLOWLY and over the period of six weeks so he can’t be replaced with Pence on the ballot.
Fuck Donald Trump.

Kaitlan Collins points out on CNN the only reason anyone knows Hope Hicks has COVID is bc reporters broke the news. The WH did not release the information. The WH withheld this information. And exposed people.

Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi et alia should express polite hope that Trump makes a full and quick recovery, but those of us who have watched him dither while hundreds of thousands of people died owe him no such support.

It would be a perfect end of the life of a lazy ignorant racist sexual predator, who’d cheated & been bailed out of trouble his entire life, to die before he lost his only fair election, and before he went to prison.

Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 2, 2020
Given this diagnosis, the Vice President, due to his ongoing proximity to the President and Hope Hicks, should also be quarantining until he gets two negative tests. I have no idea if that is going to happen. But right now the national security of the United States is at very high risk.
I agree with Dr. Rainer. And yes, I know, I’m not a medical doctor.

Given that Vice President Biden, Dr. Biden, and a number of others were all in proximity to the President, Hope Hicks, and other members of the President’s entourage during the debate on Tuesday, I expect that we will be informed tomorrow about precautions being taken by Vice President Biden, Dr. Biden, and other members of the Biden-Harris campaign team. The President’s family members and entourage on Tuesday refused to wear masks in the debate hall on Tuesday despite having agreed to that stipulation in advance. It is possible, but I don’t know how probable, that one or more of the other people in attendance on Tuesday has been infected. COVID-19 does not care about partisan political affiliation.
I would also expect that the vice presidential debate and at least the second presidential debate will either be cancelled or rescheduled.

Biden is the angriest I've seen today, laying into Trump for the comments he made to Woodward: "I don't forget that in February he's on tape as acknowledging he knew how serious this pandemic was. He knew how quickly it was spread .. But he forgot to say a single thing to us."
— Tyler Pager (@tylerpager) October 1, 2020
If you were turned off by the President’s behavior last night, I feel you. Believe me, I do. But we can’t let him win by tuning out altogether. That’s what he wants. So turn those feelings into action—turn them into votes for my friend, @JoeBiden. pic.twitter.com/cMKoxiNWVZ

NEW: The Biden campaign has raised more than $21.5 million online today, per a campaign official — its best day of the race.
Added to the ~$10 million from 9pm-12 a.m. raised during and post-debate last night and you have a $31.5 million haul in a little over a day.

Sounds like Wall Street has made its choice:
GOLDMAN SACHS: "A Biden win, especially in a "blue wave", would likely mean greater fiscal stimulus, more cyclical upside, less trade policy risk, and a weaker USD/stronger EM FX. Earlier vaccine availability would have directionally similar effects, in our view."

Let’s get the bad taste of last night out of our mouths and bask in the enthusiasm, grace and compassion of our next President and First Lady.
Lots of smoke here today, but I’m going to try and walk the dogs. We all do better if we get out and about for at least 30 minutes.
