Meet Tara

I will be out of the loop for a while. My sister sends in these pics of Tara, a six month old blue heeler/lab mix, who needs a home. Her sister was adopted and she is apparently lonely.

My sister is constantly bombarding me with pets that need adopted, so if you live in the Pittsburgh area and would like a doggie, drop me an email and I will get you in touch with her.

Consider this your open thread.

Weary. You do the work.

Here is my sister’s dog, Huck, and a friend:

I will be back later with some debate threads. I really don’t even care to watch, other than to watch McCain flail wildly about Ayers, now that he has been goaded into actually saying the stuff to Obama’s face rather than cowering behind the RNC, surrogates, and Palin.

Ton of things to do, so you are on your own for a while. My friend Tammy sent in this picture of her puppy Samantha posing after a swim in the lake:

If you find anything useful, throw it in the comments.

BTW- I forgot to add. My parents are thinking about rescuing a Jack Russell Terrier, so there may be a new addition to the household.

A Thought

David Brooks, just the other day:

What had been a disdain for liberal intellectuals slipped into a disdain for the educated class as a whole. The liberals had coastal condescension, so the conservatives developed their own anti-elitism, with mirror-image categories and mirror-image resentments, but with the same corrosive effect.

Now, as an exercise, go chronicle the right-wing blogger reactions to the Krugman announcement. I know I used to trash him. A worthwhile piece explaining the difference between his economics work and his political commentary here. Enjoy.

Here is a pet pic to start the week:

Another thread since it appears we are now getting Black Screens of Death in the comments earlier and earlier. I have no idea what is going on, and we are still waiting to hear from Mozilla to see if they know. It is just weird, I have never seen anything like it.
