At long last, science has discovered a purpose for the appendix! Apparently it cultures gut bacteria that help us digest food.
If the appendix exists for a reason, there’s hope yet for Hugh Hewitt.

On a related note, scandal rocks Oral Roberts University
Now you know if Richard Roberts were the one texting underage males we’d have some explanation of how he had “wide fingers” or something and accidentally sent lurid texts to those college kids :-)

Man, two seconds goes by and I find that I missed the real funny story. It’s an epidemic of not-gay Republicans somehow being accused/convicted of soliciting bathroom sex. And don’t forget about the “fear of black men made me pay for blowjob” story.
About as convincing as Marion Jones claiming she thought “the clear” was flaxseed oil.
Do you think Hannity, et. al. think lapel pins are like an inoculation against TEH GAY?

Hugh Hewitt = vermiform…

I can get my appendix removed, but medicine seems to offer no remedy for the existence of Hugh Hewitt.

Wow…
such lofty discourse – and so much enlightened than that from the right.

Well, the appendix must not be an important source of gut bacteria, or else the millions of people who’ve had theirs removed would have problems with digestion.

Did you read the article in detail Casey? They said that in today’s dense populations, people easily pick up the bacteria from other people, even if they have no appendix.
But in olden times, or in some more remote/less industrialized places, appendicitis was/is much less common, because people’s appendixes were in use much more.
At this point it’s a theory, and a credible one, but doesn’t have enough support to be fully accepted. But glad someone in science is looking into stuff like this. You never know what it will turn into.
Like the study of yeast (basic cells) helping Dr. Lee Hartwell understand/explain how cell division occurs (and winning him a Nobel Prize in the process). May sound simple, but understand cell division is one of the keys to unlocking cancer (abnormal cell division).

Fixed.
What other useless piece of flesh can we substitute now?

I suggest society undergo a Hugh Hewitt-dectomy.
