Do you people have any idea how many Mr. Frog pictures my mother sent me so that we would have them for the winter months to dole out like seratonin candy?
No?
Me either because I have been collating them for the last god damned hour and I am still downloading them.
Hilfy
Where are they? Couldn’t you show us just a few to start the day?
PJ
Do frogs hibernate in the winter? Or do they just go to South Carolina?
Benw
A Mr Frog update with no pic!? LOL
I got my booster today! I’m now a Pfizer/Moderna mutt. According to the pharmacist who gave me the shot, it’s 1/2 of the full dose, so maybe it won’t kick my ass?

MR. FROG! MR. FROG! MR. FROG! MR. FROG! MR. FROG! MR. FROG! MR. FROG! MR. FROG!

How do you collate frog pictures?

P.S. My booster kicked my ass almost exactly 12 hours from when i got the shot. Until then I was golden.
opiejeanne
@WaterGirl: mine only waited a couple of hours before making me want a nap. The next afternoon I was fine, but I was wiped out until then.

And just last night, wondered what had become of Mr. Frog…
Tell your mother I said ‘Thanks!’
Benw
@WaterGirl: @opiejeanne: I scheduled mine in the morning hoping I would make it until after my kids’ evening activities before going down…
WaterGirl
@germy: That was great.

@WaterGirl:
I wonder why they were so angry, though.

@germy: He was messing with their environment. Who knows, maybe to them it was like a shiny rock or something.

The one on the left was ready to pounce. He jumped on the phone and unlocked it. You’re right, it was probably a territorial thing. “Phone is ours!”
Argiope
@Benw: You may be fine. I did your same mixed booster regimen. I had friends coming by and overdrank a little the evening of mine, and felt mildly hungover and achy the next day— but fine by the afternoon. So: good times!
Leto
@Benw: just scheduled the wife and mine for next month. I’ll be a Moderna/Pfizer mutt as well! As long as I don’t have the same reaction like I had after my second Moderna, it’ll be golden.

(I would paste a link but on a phone) Yesterday my phone sent me to a Snow Leopard pic baffles the internet story on the (sorry) nypost site.
Ohio Mom
Big moment in my life: just finished the phone interview to start up my Social Security benefit.
Turns out that working for non-profits and then dedicating twenty years to raising an autistic son doesn’t do much for one’s Social Security account balance. I was expecting that but it’s still causing me a big gulp.
I’ll look forward to searching for Mr. Frog.

Hah!
My sportsball shooting habit is to take many, then select a scant few that stand out from thousands of frames. And it’s damn time-consuming. With frogs, one suspects they don’t really change facial expressions but I’m not an expert, so…. Ribbit.

I got mine yesterday- the pharmacist said not to expect to be sick. But I woke up at 2am feeling miserable, haven’t really slept well since then, and feel like hammered shit right now. Hope your experience is different!

What Have the Romans Ever Done for Us?
@Salty Sam: I got the Moderna half dose a week before Thanksgiving (was team Pfizer for the initial 2 shot course but Moderna was most widely available for boosters around here). I was fine for 24 hours and then started feeling run down for the better part of the day after the shot – not completely hammered but just a little like there was a mild viral infection coming on. Then I was fine except the soreness at the injection site, which lasted for several days and I swear I still have a little ghost pain there going on two weeks later.
trollhattan
@Salty Sam:
I asked the nurse who gave my Pfizer #3 last week how folks were coping with the 6-mo booster, and she said it was all over the board but generally not wiping them out. IDK what more she could have told me but since it was a covid-specific clinic at a medical facility they had a big cohort to follow.
I re-upped with CDC to report my post-jab reaction, figuring they have the biggest database of all.

It’s okay. I’ve been amusing myself by looking up videos of Mr. The Frog.
(Kermit, that is.)
As for boosters, well, the J&J slammed me last month in the wake of the two Pfizers that didn’t hit me too hard this past spring. But hey, as of tomorrow I’m officially vaccinated in Greece.
Salty Sam
@trollhattan: @What Have the Romans Ever Done for Us?:
I was Moderna for all three. I had a pretty strong reaction after the second one (April 6th), but I do think I feel worse today than I did on 4/7.
ETA- it sucks because it’s a beautiful day out, I’ve got a project to work on that I’m REALLY excited about, but no way I can swing that hammer today…
kindness
I would think Mr Frog is hibernating in your section of the world right now. Winter and all.
sab
@Ohio Mom: Yikes. It may offer you a bit of comfort that Social Security benefits are sort of weighted in favor of the bottom half, and also that the high end with a lot of other income get seriously dented with medicare premiums ( I won’t say “clobbered” because they can afford them.)
Ken
I’m having a bit of meme conflict; “WINTER IS COMING” doesn’t pair well with frogs.
Oh, and @PJ: In winter, most frogs go to a nice farm upstate, where they can hop and play with the other frogs. The rest bury themselves in mud and stop breathing, but come spring they’ll be fine!
JaneE
@Benw: The half dose from my Moderna booster provoked the worst reaction of all. Nothing to keep me from doing anything, but my arm was red and swollen for the first time and more sore than before. Fortunately I never had the fatigue people reported.
Benw
@Argiope: @Leto: my wife suffered after her second Moderna, too. While I skated with my two full Pfizers. I feel like I owe her a little misery :)
Benw
@Salty Sam: @JaneE:ooof neither sounds fun!
Leto
@Benw: my wife was fine with her second Moderna dose, but man did it kick the ever living shit out of me for 24 hours. Not the worst reaction I’ve had to a med being injected into me, but hoping that this Pfizer booster is a more gentle ride. Which reminds me, I’ll need to make sure I have
gummy bears, chocolate milk, and peanut M&MsAdvil for this.NotMax
Here’s a super frog pic to tide y’all over.

OMG – a Mr. Frog update and you give us nothing??? NOTHING?!?!?!

My first two Modernas I crawled home and slept like a baby. The booster was nada day one but my arm hurt like a MF for the next two or three days.

What, are you on dial up?

But did one picture make the BJ calendar?
Bruce K in ATH-GR
@WaterGirl: Thanks! People here have started giving funny looks to my CDC card (foreign card, plus it’s over six months old), so having an EU vaccine certificate (that I can even put on my phone) is helpful. Not to mention the actual vaccinated and boosted thing.
Ken
@Gravenstone: I’m sure it’s not the download taking time, it’s the careful curation and classification of each image. By spring, we will all be connoisseurs of The Frog.

I spent today getting up in teh pre-dawn darkness to take tiny kitty to the vet. She has some sort of nasal infection, can’t smell, so won’t eat. Down to 5’10” today. New squirt antibiotic, drops for nasal insertion, no help on how to do that to a cat named Spike for being so sharp.
She’s going on 15 or 16 y o, I taught her to purr as a tiny kitty who would crawl up onto my shoulder and lean on my head while I worked on the computer and be silent. I would hum various songs to her, and one day she actually was making a tiny sound. Eventually it became a really solid purr! Spike is in the current calendar showing her claws. Very cute, precious, now elderly… Wish her luck!!!!

@J R in WV: Hopefully the antibiotic helps. Scritches to her
