If you are still waiting for access to the vaccine, these stickers may be for you!
As always, pairing this thread with another one.

My four and six year old are envious of their 13-year-old cousin, who’s getting the shot this afternoon.
This is great! Ordinarily they’re deathly afraid of needles, but they want to go back to normal. And this is something they don’t even remember all that well, given their ages.
Jeffro
Fro Jr is getting his first shot this Saturday! Christmas in May!!
Let’s see…family is heading west in late July…second shot will be in mid-June…add two weeks…YES! The whole fam will be fully vaccinated before we head out. Should make the plane ride much less nerve-wracking!
Thanks, Science!!

Love the new stickers!
WaterGirl
@MisterForkbeard: The four and six year-olds are more logical and aware than a lot of the “you’re not the boss of me” entitled Republicans.
WaterGirl
@zhena gogolia: MazeDancer does a great job with the stickers, doesn’t she?

My nephews here in Florida have appointments. 12 year old will get it in his middle school in 2 weeks. Pleased to report Alachua county schools had plans for this. They had already been doing it for the high school students. Now it will be the middle schools. His mom works for the schools too so she knew she wouldn’t have to do anything. I suspect it will be extra enjoyable for the kids who get to do it with their friends at school.
My other nephew gets it Sunday. His mom is a doctor who chose to make him homeschool this Spring after his county ended internet school. Mom was seeing patients die and just wasn’t going to ignore that. So she had to actually call around for appointments. Monday and Tuesday she had no luck, nobody was acting before the CDC advisory committee in Florida. Sister was really frustrated. Wednesday the committee approved. I was browsing various sites and what do you know, but CVS had updated their site when I checked yesterday at 4pm saying appointments for 12 year olds start thursday…so I texted her and she had one made by 5:15pm. I read the news on my phone in my car before driving home. I felt like crying with relief on my way home.
He seems a little nervous about it now, but has been asking for weeks when. His mom is making vacation plans.

Yesterday was my two weeks past shot #2 and today I am getting a haircut! Hallelujah!

@WaterGirl:
Yes — I wish I could have IRL versions!

Thanks for the inspiration to finally get off my butt and let my medical provider know I got my shot through my work.
SiubhanDuinne
Just a couple of hours, and I will be fully vaccinated!!
Shall place my sticker order once the deed is done
P.S. It’s going to be hard. The new designs are great, and Maze Dancer’s work, as always, is brilliant.

Does camp have a newspeak meaning for our yoots these days
BTW congrats to our newly minted microchip mesh networkers!

My 15 year old twins are scheduled for 7:20 tomorrow morning!

@gvg: I don’t know why on earth all schools are not doing the same thing. Every school in the country should be a vaccine distribution center.
Anyway, reposting from below: I was able to schedule a same day appointment for my 13-year-old daughter yesterday, so she got her first shot! Second is June 2.
My younger turns 12 on July 27 and you better believe her present will be a jab in the arm!
Sure Lurkalot
My great niece gets poked in a couple of hours. Summer saved!
2 greats down, the rest are too young.
Happy for everyone whose kiddos, grandkiddos, students, friends, etc. are able to get in line.

I got my pfirst Pfizer and I feel pfine, here in #pforeign-speaking-nation!
And I have Katalin Kariko to thank!

@JaySinWA:
Not that I’m aware of. Maybe that’s a picture of Champ?
NotoriousJRT
Nancy Smash, please. 2 doses Moderna…
Another Scott
@JaySinWA: I assume it means that Champ can go to Camp now because they are vaccinated.
Cheers,
Scott.
WaterGirl
@zhena gogolia: You could always drag the sticker you like to your desktop and then try printing on paper like the paper for avery labels, and get your real-life sticker that way.
WaterGirl
@JaySinWA: The Camp! sticker is a reference to kids like rikyrah’s Peanut who will get to go to camp because they are vaccinated.
And yes, that is Champ.
Barbara
15 year old son is scheduled for his first dose on Monday afternoon, at an area high school that is in asynchronous mode on Mondays. The county wasted no time trying to get students vaccinated. They had already made a big push for students 16 and up.
JaySinWA
@WaterGirl: Thanks. Vaccine camp. Got it.

The younger boy (aka “Long Boy” – well over 6′ still a teen) gets the second shot tomorrow.

Nancy Smash and Joe, please.
So I and my brother are two weeks post -vaccination with Pfizer as of the 11th.
My vaccination center was in an abandoned strip mall that used to house an Everest College location and a church. The church has jam band sessions they stream every Sunday.
Everything is QR and bar coded so they scanned my phone screenshot, asked me if I had allergies ( ALL of these environmental allergies) and which arm I wanted the shot in (right). So they put a red bracelet with my information and QR code.
Like last time, I barely felt the shot going in. People were streaming through fast, so I had to remind the assistant of the time.
I sat in the red room (the place had two rooms–one with a green floor and one with a red floor), with others, socially distanced, looking at the digital clock readout. Someone thought to play a bunch of late 90s alternative songs. I haven’t heard “Round Here”, “Tonight Tonight” “Shine” or “No Rain” in…aeons. A security guard walked around the room checking people’s bracelets to scan them out. I used my time to people watch.
I heard several people say, “Thank you for doing what you do” last time.
I was very tired that day, and had a sore arm. I went to bed with chills. It wasn’t as bad as my first time as I didn’t have sniffles or a fever.

Daughter is all set for her appointment tomorrow.
Our Fourth of July, Wife’s Birthday party is all set…only a few under 12 there.
lowtechcyclist
Just made an appointment for the kiddo (8th grade) to get his first shot. Tomorrow!!!

My daughter started pestering us to register her for a shot the moment it became a possibility. She has her appointment this afternoon–which reminds me, I need to go print out the parental consent form to speed it up a bit
All of her friends at school desperately want to get vaccinated, but there’s one whose parents won’t let her.

My fifteen year old son is scheduled for Saturday. I’m hoping that the eleven year olds get approved soon for my daughter’s sake.
trnc
And she got a lobotomy so that Fox and Newsmax could do all her thinking for her.
WaterGirl
@trnc: That might be considered clever is she were, say 9 or 10 years old.
Tazj
15 year old’s appointment is Monday at CVS, made it at 630am before I left the house. By the time I was able to make another appointment for my 14 year old, all the CVS appointments around me were gone and the other pharmacies only had J&J and Moderna. It all worked out fine however, as I got one for the 14 year old on Sunday afternoon at the University at Buffalo. Neither one of one of them is thrilled to be getting their shots but I’m very happy.
trnc
@WaterGirl: Sadly, her riff was used as a template by her many dead-ender followers.
Matt McIrvin
The idea of being a kid with antivaxxer parents, who wants to get vaccinated but legally can’t, really depresses me. That we can’t legally treat this as the parents being a danger to their children.
To be fair, in this particular case, the direct risk to the kid is relatively low and the parents are mostly increasing the risk to themselves.
Flanders Other Neighbor
My 14YO just got #1 a few hours ago from an appointment actually made last night at dinnertime. She said it was painless and was on social media moments later to spread the word that it doesn’t hurt (much to the relief of at least two friends heading for theirs later today.) I thought that was fantastic, and encouraged her to spread that message as she has close friends across quite a few schools.
No sticker needed. She doesn’t bother with old folks’ corners of the intertubes..
Jay C
I’ll take a “1 Dose Done” with cute kitten (can never go wrong with cute kittens):
Not for me, though: but for Mrs. Jay: she finally got her first (Moderna) shot yesterday! After *only* ten weeks and five cancellations, we found out that the CVS across the avenue from our building had some appointments open, so I wheeled her across (the Spouse is somewhat mobility-impaired, hence the long “wait”): no problems so far.
Yay us!!
NYC does have a program for in-home vaccinations (J&J) – but the wait times are usually on the level of 3-4 weeks just to hear back. Not surprising in as crowded a city as NY: fortunately someone else can get our spot, now.
Brachiator
@Flanders Other Neighbor:
Good to hear that your child got the vaccine. Also very cool to read about how she is using the kid social media grapevine to spread a positive word about the vaccine. I hope that the enthusiasm continues.
Ken
Moderna #2 yesterday, feeling a little sluggish today but happy. Kamala, please (I got Joe for #1 and want to complete the set).

I got a first shot appointment for my 13 year old grandson last night for today at 6 PM. Once it is safely intramuscularly deposited, I shall return and request a sticker for him (not that he will ever care).
dmsilev
Not that it matters for people posting in this thread, but if you know someone who is vaccine-resisting, here’s another incentive for them to get their shots:
CDC says fully vaccinated Americans no longer need masks indoors or outdoors in most cases
Quiltingfool
I got my 2nd Moderna shot yesterday! Only side effect is a sore arm – no big deal! May I have a Steve (I just love that chonky kitty!) sticker, please and thank you?
FlyingToaster
WarriorTeen (age 13) is scheduled for 8:30 tomorrow morning. The weekend to recover, live all-day school Monday. Project weeks mean all day on-site if humanly possible, to work on the end-of-year team project.
I have “House Pfizer” “House Pfizer” “House Moderna” tees in my cart at Redbubble for tomorrow, post-shot. Yeah, I’m the odd duck this time.
?

UK is speeding up. SO getting her 2nd dose tomorrow, which was originally scheduled for June 7th.

Got vaccinated long enough ago that I am past two weeks and fully immunized …
However, my kids had such sticker fascination at times that I am a bit stickered out. I do like the designs though. And I still get them I voted stickers at each election, even if they no longer like them as much.
Older kid recently got second dose. Younger turns 12 next year and is mildly disappointed to not yet have the option.
Hang in there everyone – things are getting bette
ETA: my side effects were pretty unpleasant – a couple of days of feeling like I had the flu, and thoroughly tired for at least a week after that. Some of the exhaustion may have been related to other life issues, but nothing like having the chills for most of a weekend to remind you what you missed out on not having the flu in years.
Benw
Woo hoo my 13 yo is done with shot #1!
4/5 of my immediate fam’s got at least 1 dose! Man is my 11 yo salty.
Can he have Samwise?
SiubhanDuinne
I am DONE!!
For the first Fauci Ouchie, I requested and received a Champ Stamp.
For the second, I should like to request a Tikka Stikka.
Please and thank you.
Matt McIrvin
A Henry sticker for my kid, who just got her first Pfizer shot in a school gymnasium. Scheduled the 2nd for June 3.
I’m still a week out from my second Moderna shot. We’ll all be fully vaxxed by the time my parents come up on June 18.
Steeplejack (phone)
@SiubhanDuinne:
Congratulations! I know what a big achievement this is for you. ?

2nd Moderna done! Kan haz Henry, plz?
Mom Says I*m Handsome
My 2-week incubation period ended last week, so yesterday I actually made a business call, my first in 15 months. We did bidness, then sat around a conference room table and ate sandwiches and talked without masks, because everyone had gotten two jabs.
My middle kids (I guess I call them “My Mom Says They*re Handsome”?) get their shots in about an hour. We coulda had ’em done yesterday — there’s tons of available appointments at Walgreens here in Denver.
So I would like one UBJabbed and one Camp, please and thank you.
Unique uid
I had my second Moderna last night. Sore arm and some joint pains now, not bad. A Dolly sticker please.
I’m still working with the J&J study people (received placebo way back in February). The clinician said she thought it was a way for J&J to get copies of the Moderna antibodies. Spy vs spy? The other plus is they will measure my antibodies and suggest a booster time, and slight possibility of another study to test boosters.
After leaving the undisclosed location, I went to Hamtramck’s Balkan House / Doner kabob. Maybe first takeout for us this year. Yum!!
SiubhanDuinne
@Steeplejack (phone):
Thank you! I appreciate your acknowledging that.
Kayla Rudbek
Mr. Rudbek biked over 30 miles round trip to get his second shot today. Nancy and Joe for him, please.
WaterGirl
I think I gave you about 8 stickers last time, but I’m not sure you ever saw them. :-)
This was a really big deal. I was so busy trying to figure out whether to give you a bunch again or jus the one you asked for, and I was remiss in not saying something.
Go you!
cope
I would like a UBJabbed in absentia for my grandson who got Pfizer #1 this evening. Thank you, thank you very much. I am sure that as a kid who just built his first computer, he would be totally underwhelmed. Hmmmm, just discovered I have been mis-spelling Pfizer all this time.
Kayla Rudbek
@Kayla Rudbek: and Mr. Rudbek was beaten in total mileage by a man from Arizona who did about 48 miles round trip in March
SiubhanDuinne
@WaterGirl:
You don’t specify, but I have a sense this comment is meant for me :-)
I’m happy with Champ and Tikka as the formal avatars of my Pfizer #1 and #2, but yes, I saw and was thrilled with the pantheon you provided three weeks ago.
And I figure that two weeks from today will be the actual date on which I can claim to be fully vaccinated, so you can look forward to getting some additional sticker requests on May 27th.
I’m glad to have had the jabs, but JFC does my upper arm ever hurt! And I feel a little bit woozy, not faint but as though I might faint whenever I stand up. Early to bed for me tonight.
Bumper
12yo has an appointment for next Wednesday. We could have one tomorrow but he is severely needle/medical phobic and we need some time for the sedative prescription (yeah, really). Promises have been made for a new Nintendo Switch game if all goes well. Oldest gets his second Moderna Saturday. This is all such a relief.
WaterGirl
@SiubhanDuinne: Yes, that was directed at you! Like I said last time, this is a big Joe Biden deal, and you get all the stickers.
rikyrah
Peanut got Pfizer#1 today.
She wants the drinking porcupine and CAMP stickers please.
I am..well…???
Beyond relieved.
1 more shot and 14 day antibodies countdown to go.
WaterGirl
@rikyrah: Yay for Peanut!
Benw
@rikyrah: hurray for you and Peanut!
My oldest teen just got Pfizer #2! Feelin fine!
Can he have Lily and Thurston?

There is a more recent I Got the Shot! thread in the sidebar.
