This is just a pretty damn spectacular story.
We begin with our hero, Austyn Farrell, locked down and bored a year ago.
So he made a music video out on his street and posted it on TikTok.

Been saving this thread for an In case of emergency… post. Serious topic(s) of the day, see thread below, please!
And then he made another – and that one kinda went viral.
Now he had an audience – online at least.
— The Hoarse Whisperer (@TheRealHoarse) March 30, 2021
So he made another video.
And a few neighbors came out to watch.
— The Hoarse Whisperer (@TheRealHoarse) March 30, 2021
And they made this…
And it is spectacular…

p.s. credit to @scootertooter7 for pointing me toward the story.
They posted the final video and I just went back and found the full backstory. https://t.co/CSGnJe1QL7

This is just wonderful. This man has spread so much joy – and we all need more joy! Keep dancing @austynfarrell92 and can’t wait for theatres and shows to reopen so you have the biggest audience possible. https://t.co/AeDIWXImOl

Good Morning all. What a great way to start my work day. Thanks as always AL

@germy: Weasel Gym really thinks he can one up her. He may need to rethink that. What about three decades a cop does he not get?

@germy: Jordan is living in d’Nile, and Israel annoying, too, with these antics. I mean…..Syria-ously?

That little princess at the end! ?

There have been a few spontaneous parades around here (not of the caliber of Austyn’s). I love them and cheer them, but they always make me weepy.

I did not know this.

Apparently. I intend to bring this up the next time some FB troll tries to defend him.

Good Morning Everyone ???
Betty Cracker
I watched Farrell’s Tina Turner video a couple of times when it first went viral — it’s hilarious, and he captures her energy so well! I’m not surprised to find out he’s a professional dancer; the man has the moves, and I hope he can parlay his viral success into a career asset. He really is awesome.
Baud
@rikyrah: Good morning.

@germy: If that’s his job, they should fire his ass for nonperformance.

Exactly. Legislators legislate!

@OzarkHillbilly: I have found that the tendency of a person in congress to grandstand and seek attention is often inversely proportional to their effectiveness as a legislator.

Not taking anything away from Farrell, but I’m a little partial to John Krasinski’s version.

Bad news for me:

Ken
@germy: I’m intrigued, because what could possibly be in a yearbook that would damage a right-winger? It almost has to be something worse than blackface, or even dressing up as a Nazi. Maybe something that no normal person would see as bad, but would damage his credibility with the base; president of the chess club, perhaps.

Still, some of the tricks are easy. Glasses that filter blue light at sundown and wearing a sleep mask really works.

Apart from the (former?) rotating tag, I never really heard of country singer Brad Paisley. But he’s on MJ right now, he’s strongly pushing for everyone to get vaccinated, and he comes across as a really good guy.

It’s snowing here in Chicago pretty hard at the moment. I would like to think of it as a birthday present for my dog, who is half Swiss. I’m glad I didn’t put petunias out on the balcony yet. Fortunately, it is way to warm for anything to stick.
WereBear
@PST: Snowing here, too. Which is why I put out pansies. Who can take it!
comrade scotts agenda of rage
@WereBear:
Yeah, I’ve never figured out where the light insult “You’re such a pansy” came from because those are tough-as-nails flowers.
OzarkHillbilly
@PST: @WereBear: Drove home thru an all but whiteout yestereve. Left us with an inch and a half to zero accumulation depending on where the flake landed. Then it cleared off so the temps could drop to 25F. I was too tired from the long drive to take protective measures. We’ll see what survived the freeze.
Why is it every time I go to NOLA, I return to shitty weather?
Ken
Are you doing something in NOLA to trigger it? Like, going to a voudon service and not putting anything in the collection plate?
OzarkHillbilly
@Ken: I’m an atheist because the gods hate me. That might explain a lot.

@Jeffro: Oh, man…and I remember it like yesterday. I was on this site all damn day trying to process it.
I’m still not sure why Prince’s death hit me so much harder than, say, David Bowie’s or any of the other rock-pop culture icons who passed that year. It just did.
(And I’m still getting membership renewal notices from some public radio station in Minneapolis because I kicked them some $ in appreciation of their wall-to-wall Prince coverage during that time).
J R in WV
Prince was more of an icon than most “pop” musicians. He created more innovative music and was more independent than most musicians. Also was younger by far than the older pop icons that were dying at the time, and seemed healthier by far.
I didn’t know he suffered from chronic pain from a back injury. Pain can make your thinking murky even without the effects of medication. And there is nothing like the relief from constant pain.
He was such a creative and independent musician. We will always miss his creativity and musicianship. Killer guitar work~!!~
