I’ll have a Nancy Smash sticker, please!
My whole fam has now had at least one shot, and most of us are past the 2-week after 2nd dose mark.
My effing god, what a year.
Old Man Shadow
Shot two this morning.
My mark of the Beast is now complete.
See you all in Hell.

Shot #2 of Moderna this morning. Steve sticker is looking good.

I got my first Moderna shot Thursday. First day everyone in WA eligible, totally amazed I got in the first day. WOOT! may I have Samwise, please?
Halteclere
Also 2nd shot of Moderna this morning. So far feeling OK.

I went and got my second Pfizer shot Thursday. Started feeling a little crappy later that night. Yesterday I was essentially useless. Headache, fatigue, a few body aches. Today I’m back to normal.
Le Comte de Monte Cristo, fka Edmund Dantes
On the “dog rejecting food because of heartworm treatment” front, yesterday, I took him by the vet for an antinausea shot, as he was not taking in anything but water. I also sprung $65 for a syringe-delivered liquid appetite stimulant med. Brad (the vet) said “he won’t like it, it’s bitter – just stick it in at the back of his lip and squirt”.
He writhes like a fish on a hook and is impossible. We got a lot on his dumb face as he snapped his head. By the time we got it in his mouth, he drooled most out and promptly and proudly threw up the rest. He has eaten some today, so that’s good.

Two weeks out from my 2nd shot! Had dinner last night with some friends who are also fully vaxed, and it was wonderful!

I got my second Moderna yesterday morning. First the arm-punching gorilla visited, then, 13 hours after the shot, I got run over by a truck – fever, chills, aches, headache! Finally gave in and took some Tylenol around noon. The best analogy I can think of is to the worst side effect day after my breast cancer chemo, 5 years ago. Guess my immune system is recovered from that! I would like the Steve sticker, please!
Rina99
No edit! Two balloons sticker please.
Tony Jay
I’m booked to get my first shot tomorrow afternoon. ‘Er Indoors had her second Pfizer shot a few days ago and apart from very achey arm (easing now) and one bout of fatigue she’s A-OK. Well there’s the head-spinning and mild lycanthropy, but that’s to be expected.
Frankensteinbeck
I got my first shot last Monday. Pfizer. I am looking forward to a month from now, when I can travel and see my friends and not merely be safe myself, but not worry about endangering anyone else.
counterfactual
Just realized I’m two weeks past my second shot. Whee!
Sister Golden Bear
24 hours post-Pfizer #2. Arm hurts far less than last time, and mostly just feel a bit tired.
The budding prehensile tail itches, but the 5G connectivity is awesome.
Can I haz Nancy Smash pleaz?

@Old Man Shadow: I

isn’t that the best feeling?

I love these posts??

Well, thanks to my coming down with some sort of weird stomach bug a few days ago, I had to postpone my second Moderna shot yesterday, so I am grumpy about that and also about bugs in general (no, I don’t think it’s the ‘rona, its effects appear to be entirely gastrointestinal…so far. Lucky me?).
So I get to recover from this crud and then get my second Moderna jab next Friday, if all goes well, so I can spend *next* weekend feeling wabbly as well. Happy happy joy joy…!
But at least this is finally getting me off my ass and scheduling a doctor appointment and a physical.
Yutsano
Shot #2 at 1300 PST. Watch this thread for an update…
Miss Bianca
@Tony Jay: “mild lycanthropy”? So, what does that entail…”get a little hairy but don’t morph completely”? “Light mauling of victims rather than killing them”? Inquiring minds WANT TO KNOW, man!
Yutsano
@Miss Bianca:
DOO EET!!!
Even if the news is bad getting in front of a problem early is still better than waiting until it’s terrible.

I’m not quite there yet, but I was finally able to schedule my second Pfizer shot for 10:15 on Tuesday—just two days ahead of six weeks from my first shot. The problem turned out to be Inova’s wretched website. They never sent me a notification to schedule the shot, and when I logged into their site as a “member” (you had to create an account to get the first shot) at different times I got “Appointment can’t be scheduled now” or “No appointments available.” (But I had a notice that “you need to schedule an appointment.”)
Finally today I stumbled onto an obscure page that gave instructions to go down a particular menu path that did allow me to eventually schedule the appointment, although with bumps and errors on the way. And after I finished the whole process I got a confirming e-mail, so I guess I’m good to go. What a clusterfuck, though. I worry about less computer-savvy people; I hope they can get through via phone.
One interesting detail is that there were fewer appointment slots available than I thought there would be: none on Monday, five or six on Tuesday, then more later next week. But nothing like the wide open “pick any time you want” schedule for the first shot.

@rikyrah: I love these posts too- we gotta find good cheer where we can these days.
Sister Golden Bear
Fun from my theater nerd friends. Sing it with me:
“When you’re a Pfiz
You’re a Pifz all the way
From your first Fauci jab
To your full immune day”
“I like to be in America
Your shot for free in America”
“Tonight, tonight, I get my shot tonight!
Tomorrow I’ll be down for the count!”
“There’s a shot for us!
Somewhere a shot for us!
One for now and a month from now!
My arm hurts! Holy cow!”
“Moderrrrrrna! I just got a shot called Moderrrna!”
Uncle Cosmo
Today for me is Moderna #2 + 2 weeks: Free to move around the planet, wherever the planet will have me…which does not yet include Prague where my good friends live. It’s also the anniversary of my father’s death, hence this obligatory from my Poifick Master & Hero Of The Zeitgeist (himself translated to whatever comes next on 15 Mar 2019):

@Le Comte de Monte Cristo, fka Edmund Dantes:
Condolences. I’ve been there with cats. Once I half-jokingly asked my vet where I could get one of those steel examination tables, because that was the only place my cats would ever simmer down and (grudgingly) take the meds.

Received my second Moderna dose yesterday. Make mine Nancy Smash.

Pfizer #2 last Thursday and after a long nap that afternoon, I feel fine
Green Balloons please

I got my second Pfizer Tuesday. I’ve been fatigued with a serious headache since Wednesday.
Doc Sardonic
Second Pfizer on Tuesday. Wednesday and part of Thursday felt like crap, minor nausea, headache and absolutely no energy. Friday I felt much better, today back to “normal”.
ET
I got my Second this morning! And I like Steve.

Got my Moderna #1 yesterday (Friday 4-16), and was driving around afterward with a strange sense of liberation! The site was a relatively small pharmacy a couple of towns over (this is north central Jersey we’re talking about), which though not a big retail space does have quite a large consulting area, so they can have half a dozen or more people and plenty of working space apart from the little roomlet where the pretty Asian-American tech gave me my shot, and I complimented her on her painless technique.
You had to wait your turn, but they were moving things right along; so we all sat quietly and looked at our phones or contemplated the feminine health products on the shelf facing our seats. No after-effects other than very slight shot-site soreness, and a bit of tiredness – which might not have been the shot’s fault.
Very hard to pick a sticker – they’re all great. I think I’ll promote youth: Baby Champ, please.
jimbales
Just got my first (Moderna) :-)
I’ll take the second Odoroki, thank you!

Always good to see more and more getting their second shots here; my daughter, step daughter and girl friend all get their second dose this coming week. Progress is a wonderful thing.
I return to normal work week starting in early May – it already seems strange to think things will soon be normal.
Better still (far and away) the next pandemic, thanks to this new tech (mRNA) will be far easier to control. Progress – it really makes life far better. The good-old-days where anything but.

I have cable again for the first time since October.
Took over an hour, but it’s working.
Thank you, Pfizer. That was the first person I didn’t know in my house since February 2020.

My Moderna #2 appointment happens to be scheduled for the day before my birthday.

We’re now past the 2 weeks after Pfizer second shots. We had sore arms, fever and chills and generally rotten feeling for about a day and a half. But spouse had a really weird response a few days later – BO. This wasn’t garden variety body odor and it was predominantly on his shot side. He went for a bike ride and when he walked into the house I could immediately smell him and the foul rankness was like brasso and cat pee or the pee of 10 cats over 10 days. It took 3 consecutive washings to get the stank out of his jersey and repeated pit scrubbing of his stank self. The only time I’d smelled something that bad was when Roadie Brother the Elder was receiving chemo – an acrid metallic smell. Anyone heard of this odd reaction?
something fabulous
One reason I comment so sporadically is I usually read the whole comment thread before I post. Not this time!
Second Moderna for me yesterday morning! KNOCKED MY ASS OUT! Fortunately so far, only the extreme tiredness, plus sore arm. Started to feel chills last night so took a very hot shower and decided to drink one of those hot theraflu things before going back to bed. Was so woozy I actually sat on the floor in front of the stove while opening the packaging and waiting for the water to boil. Slept 13 hours! Just woke again about an hour ago, and think will go back to sleep again once I’ve had something to eat. Nonetheless, YAY!!!!!!!
Dearest Dolly, please! (Oh and Lily too, if I could be greedy :) ) Thanks!!!
Rob
My wife is getting her second shot tomorrow morning, and I’m getting mine on Friday. Nancy Smash for a sticker?
something fabulous
@Sister Golden Bear: HA!
“hey Dr. Fauci, I’m begging you please! No one likes a Jordan with a social disease!”

Pfizer 2 three weeks ago. Almost all friends and brother + girlfriend double dosed. My partner is nine weeks past his second. He figured out how to outfox Kaiser WA’s mutinous website. We’ll have friends over to see how we spent our rescue checks – new rugs, chairs, stove, portable induction cooktops, induction pans, and plants!
Penelope please.
WaterGirl
@something fabulous: Sorry to hear of the rough response, but glad you have your second shot under your belt.
WaterGirl
@Tony Jay: This one is a hologram badger. Come back for your real Badger sticker tomorrow. :-)
WaterGirl
@laura: That is a new one!

Got my second yesterday and am recovering from side effects.
I’d love a Handsome Joe and, if I can be greedy, a Dolly because it was Moderna.

I got the second Pfizer dose yesterday. No side effects so far.

Mrs Kelly and I got our second Pfizer shots Thursday. Tender at the injection site plus my arm and shoulder were stiff all Friday. Mild fever. Fine today. We’ll take a Joe sticker.

@WaterGirl: I really enjoy these threads. So much good news in one place, plus stickers!

Got my second Moderna this past Friday. So relieved to have that done. I would love a Joe sticker to mark the occasion.

Pfizer shot #1 today! It was a drive-through site, very efficient. I got there early and actually was stuck about 10 minutes before my scheduled time. No pain at all, no muss, no fuss, and I did the vaccine selfie thing so I could post it on social media as an encouragement.
Today the U.S. is going to hit the 50% mark for first vaccinations. I joked with my wife that I wanted to be the person who took us over the halfway mark.
(And a Samwise sticker, please.)
WaterGirl
@randy khan: The halfway mark! I did not know that. Good news.
jalcirrus
Received my second jab (Pfizer) on Friday. Good for 6 hours and then slammed – chills, 103 fever, aches, and no energy. Almost back to normal today. I’ll have a Dose (Dos) Done sticker, please!

Just got my second Pfizer. Neither need nor want a sticker. I have my vax card and that is good enough.
