WaterGirl, if folks are interested in restoring the function of a back arrow in the new Firefox so one can navigate from within the browser rather than by using the keyboard, I’ve put together a very brief tutorial and accompanying pictorial guide for this workaround, both of which I’d be willing to e-mail you so you could add the text and image within an appropriate comments thread if you might think them useful.
Does NOT involve going into the scary about:config area of Firefox at all.

New York puts the P back in PARTY ON, WAYNE. There’s a high level of interest in this legislation, and to get into the weeds it indicates a great big bag waiting for those who want to invest in that Empire State buzz. Rolling up a summary, it decriminalizes those who’ve been caught smoking, opens the door for some high times for the commercial growers, and basically just does what should been done years ago: get the party started.
Another Scott
They played that backwards, didn’t they??
:-)
Cheers,
Scott.

@NotMax: WTF!!! I started buying masks and mask-msking supplies a year ago. None of it was tax deductible, so I saved no receipts. Now it is?
BruceFromOhio
@NotMax:
I love the scary parts. If you tickle it just right, you can make it pee.

What’s this post about?
ETA – dogpile!

Here is a mama bear trying to get her four cubs across the road while traffic waits: https://twitter.com/cctv_idiots/status/1376803627533283330?s=2

Yay for #6!

Dogpile is a rather funky (and still functional) search engine from way, way back in pre-Google times, also too.
Across the pond, same system, different name.
;)

@NotMax:

@mrmoshpotato
Obligatory?

In other news, maybe there’s no such thing as ‘Dark Energy’.
Cheers,

@BruceFromOhio:
I’d rather not hear about Firefox pee, thank you.
Mike Adamson
Definitely need a bigger bucket.
cain
@BruceFromOhio:
How long have you been keeping that in your back pocket to whip it out for such an occasion as this?

Awww, very cute.
My wife & I rescued a stray from a rural gas station in VA at Christmas 2001. She was very skinny, but turned out to be pregnant. We named her Ginnie. We had an unused room in our townhouse that we turned into a puppy room. We covered the floor with a old piece of carpet. The puppies were very cute, and each got a name. The ringleader was Grace, but my favorite was a male named Duncan (coz he had white paw tips like he’d dunked them in paint). Duncan was also a little trouble maker.
The 7 puppies were very, very cute. I’ve lost most of my digital photos from that time, but we have a couple of cute shots. My wife talked me into keeping one of the pups and I chose Duncan. We had Ginnie for another 8 years and Duncan was with us from his first day in Jan 2002 until we had to put him to sleep in late 2013.

@Feathers: Every driver thinking “Maybe I could get through, but if I hurt one of those cubs or even get too close, the mother will rip open my car like a sardine can…”
Baud
@debbie:
Did you in intend that for the previous thread?
Ken
@Another Scott: Aha! It’s magnets instead. Dark magnets. You can explain anything with magnets, I can only imagine what the dark-matter ones can do.
(Please allow that I may have skimmed too quickly, and that the original is filtered through a science reporter.)

@NotMax: Sure, please send it to me.

The Nancy Grace Roman telescope will be a major player in this area of study.

I know it’s the faces of book, but he’s not on their main page yet.
Go to: https://www.facebook.com/animalheartline/ and scroll down until you can read Chowder’s bio. He’s a very good boy!
WaterGirl
@mrmoshpotato: Just an open thread alternative to the murder trial, with puppies in a basket. What, you need more than that??? :-)
No one told me there were standards.

Via LGM. Good news.
WaterGirl
@Feathers: Poor mama bear!
WaterGirl
@Amir Khalid: Amir, someone submitted an On the Road today – all about guitars!
I’m not sure if you read OTR regularly, but you probably won’t want to miss that one. Most likely published in a couple of weeks.

Sent.

@debbie:
Damn. Wrong thread. So sorry. Too late to delete.
Ken
Like that works. You could say “This thread is for discussing the implications of the new findings regarding dark energy,” and within twenty comments half the crowd would be discussing the infrastructure bill and the rest trading cornbread recipes.
WaterGirl
@Seanly: Sweet story. If there’s more to it, and photos, we could do a Furry Friends post.
debbie
@Baud:
Sigh, yes.
OzarkHillbilly
Labs, they gotta snuggle. Billie Jean is only 50% Lab, but when it comes to snuggles? 100% Lab.
WaterGirl
@debbie: I can move it for you.
debbie
@WaterGirl:
Can you please delete #19? I posted in the wrong thread.
debbie
@WaterGirl:
I already did that, so if you could just delete it, please?
Raoul Paste
@WaterGirl: Puppies in a bucket is the definition of respite
NotMax
@Ken
Fairly certain the Big Big theory has by now superseded the one proposing Big Cornbread.
:)

@Feathers: And I thought herding cats was hard!
WaterGirl
@debbie: deleted. sort of. I just left a “.” otherwise baud’s comment and your reply would make no sense.
WaterGirl
@Ken: I think you meant to say “twenty seconds”, but otherwise I am in complete agreement.
debbie
@WaterGirl: Oh, like he ever makes sense. ?
Baud
@WaterGirl:
Not an unusual situation for me.
mrmoshpotato
Nu-uh! Discussing the infrastructure recipe and trading cornbread bills!
WaterGirl
@Raoul Paste: Thank you! I thought it needed no explanation. :-)
WaterGirl
@debbie: @Baud:
And here I was, looking out for both of you, trying to preserve your good names. Too late for that, I guess, is the message you guys are sending. :-)

Roomie and I got our Fauci Ouchies yesterday. 1st dose of Pfizer (yes i went to the thread). She of course, has no reactions to it and we’re about teh same age. Me: fatigue, nausea, joint aches and muscle pain. Joy. Been sleeping most of today and it’s improved. The fatigue remains the biggest obstacle, but that should be leveling off by tomorrow i hope. I’m just overly glad we got them and the process started. Roomie works at Amazon, where the distro center has been a more or less permanent cluster of infections. I’ve got preexisting conditions, and i wasn’t taking chances socializing much at all because of it. For now? CUTE PUPPIES!!!!!!! and supper awaits. *grins
mrmoshpotato
@karen marie: I’m gonna take an educated guess that momma bear and her cubs bounded off into the woods on the other side of the cruiser.

Just because I’m in one of those moods. For the last few years the group Band Maid have released new music on April1 in a genre different from their usual oeuvre. Last year they did not do so due to obvious reasons. Well, they’re back this year – sort of. The woman who started the band (Miku Kobato) has a fun little pop confection out today that touches on her idol group roots and leans hard into her nickname of “small pigeon”. Enjoy…

Count Delta Airlines and Coca-Cola among corporations pushing back on the Republican’s voter suppression laws in Georgia. Might be time to order up the popcorn, as I don’t believe we’ve heard from the sportsball teams yet.
Did they not notice what happened in North Carolina?
OzarkHillbilly
@WaterGirl: Like they ever had good names.
WaterGirl
@OzarkHillbilly: Ha!
dww44
@NotMax: I’d love to know this as well. I did go into about:config a few days to restore the print preview function. I’m glad I did.
Sure Lurkalot
@trollhattan: After signed sealed and delivered? Not exactly profiles in principle, Delta and Coke.
I weaned myself off Diet Coke a couple of years ago and would buy one every now and then at lunch. The pandemic ended lunch out so it’s been over a year and an easy boycott for me. I think I’ve flown Delta once.
Both companies need to step up their campaigns against these awful laws. Otherwise, just disingenuous lip service IMHO.
Yutsano
@trollhattan:
Delta got a looooong way to go here after their CEO put up a really stupid statement in support of SB202. That might be a heel turn now but that’s gonna take a whole lotta time to get fixed. Or the Medallion Rebellion worked.
The Moar You Know
@WaterGirl: One of my few photo regrets: I spent five years making them and three years importing them (and going to the factories in China and Korea) and never once dragged a camera into work. I should have.
Another Scott
@Yutsano:
Yup.
Everyone knew the law was coming. Giant companies plugged deeply into GA politics waiting until it’s been signed into law to speak out against it is more than a bit disingenuous.
Grr…
Cheers,
Scott.
sab
@OzarkHillbilly: I thought those were goldens (aka long-haired yellow labs).
debbie
@sab:
Definitely lab faces.
WaterGirl
@dww44: I will put up a post with the instructions from NotMax – probably tomorrow.
WaterGirl
@The Moar You Know: Oh, no!
Regrets, I have a few…
mrmoshpotato
@WaterGirl: Mark my words. You’re never gonna get the Firefox pee smell out of the carpeting.
WaterGirl
@mrmoshpotato: I won’t disagree with you – I hate Firefox and I do not use it.
sab
@debbie: My ex used to haul six goldens in the back of his pickup, and they behaved like that. We could just stack them in, on top of each other, and they were happy because together.

Woo-HOO! I’ll be watching out for it.

@The Moar You Know: I sure hope that you may tell us some of the tales of the luthier that you are. Maybe just one, the first guitar you built, or the one your most proud of, or the one that played the shreddingest cords, or the one that traveled the farthest from your hands, or some such.

Need a bigger bucket, moar puppers! Great respite thread!
AnotherBruce
@cain: I think that needs to go into the rotatating header.
Martin
@aliasofwestgate: Same here. Pfizer yesterday, today has been a day of reflection on the benefits of being comatose.

@Another Scott: Relatedly, Liz Dye’s piece at Wonkette is excellent.

Thank you muchly. Humbly suggest putting the relevant text and accompanying image below the fold, as the image is so tall it would otherwise overly dominate the front page.
