I mean, he’s not wrong in the sense that “Trumpism” will still be around going forward. The GOP saw Trump get 73 million votes and evidently peeled away many Latinos. They’re going to do everything in their power to replicate that. Marco Rubio’s “American greatness” comments are indicative of this.
If we don’t win those two GA Senate seats in January, it’s going to be a miserable 4 years because the GOP will do everything in their power to undermine Biden for political gain. It’s what they did to Obama and it worked pretty well for them. What’s worse, is that Republicans turn out for runoffs; the only reason Perdue didn’t win outright is that a libertarian drew votes away from him. That won’t be the case this time

Pay an electrician to run some GFCI circuits to the exterior (also to bathrooms & kitchen). That assumes a breaker panel with open slots. A funny thing is that the mechanisms that they’re proposing (to be clear, some of them are physically impossible) would just as easily support an assertion that there was massive pro-Trump election rigging in some battleground states, just not enough to overcome the unexpectedly large (and cough un-lost/late) mail-in/absentee voting. And in this slight variant (just a sign change, as a math person would say) on current Republican election rigging conspiracy theories, no way did Trump get 70 million votes in 2020. 63 million, tops! :-) I am so tempted to spread this, but will try to wait at least until after the EC voting. (Also the 2016 election, and certain statewide races in 2018, to flesh out the conspiracy theory. :-)
The hand recounts and risk limiting audits seem to make it clear (where there’s a paper trail at least) that fraud and rigging didn’t happen. Just a super-high-turnout election. e.g. my county had heavy-used early voting, and even so, on election day, the poling station lines, normally non-existent (like 1-2 persons) were about 30-40 minutes. (And deferred counting of mail-in votes to create a Red Mirage.)

@Suzanne: The plug in adapter for the porch light allows you to keep the porch light. They should be available at True Value Hardware. You can probably find them on the internet as well. LED Xmas lights use very little power so you can use inexpensive and lightweight extension cords if you keep them under the eaves.

@Jeffro: Trump was unique in that he wasn’t previously in politics, was “viewed” as a successful businessman(therefore was smart) and was on the TV machine(probably getting him an extra 1 to 2% of the vote). These other guys don’t have that, they can speak the words, but they’re part of the swamp.
ETA: The only person that’s been talked about that might fit this is Fucker Carlson(on the TV machine, wealthy(though inherited, though same with Trump), and not in politics).

When you submitted the site feedback form, did you receive an email confirmation?
I did not receive one with my test submission just now.
I was able to go in through the Forms on WordPress, so I now have the attachments that satby and beautiful plumage sent.
I will let John know about the ad situation. thanks

There are some great stories in Rick Reily’s book on trump and golf.
One that I remember. trump was in PA at his golf course there and was going to compete in its tournament until he learned that one of the members was a seriously good golfer that he would never be able to beat.
So instead, trump went to a nearby course that day and played a round. That night he called his club manager and asked what the winning score in the tournament was. He then informed the manager that since he had shot a lower score at the other course, he should be named tournament winner.
And so he was.

@Suzanne: Old House here, new section 1850, older ca 1837. First year used door light with adapter to fit extension cord plug. Available at hardware stores. Adapter allows cord plug and doorway light bulb. Limited to area around door way/porch but pretty. Most of our lights are indoors around the windows except for the wreath and garlands around front door. eventually punched a holes thru foundation beam and installed a proper outlets as well as antenna feeds.

@schrodingers_cat: It’s John McCain’s seat, it’ll be up for election in 2022.
Jeffro
@?BillinGlendaleCA: true, but every election is different, and now these neo-trumpies know the playbook. They know just how far their own party will enable them (all the way and then some) and how well the media will abet them (fucking AMAZINGLY far).
It’s a tall order but Dems better get better at reminding their voters: these scumbags are out to get you and destroy our democracy. They’ll impoverish you and make you a third-class citizen without a moment’s hesitation.

Partly ‘cos of this thread I did a deep dive on ES-335s :)
And then Steve Howe’s Close To The Edge guitar, which was an ES-345
And then the Gibson Varitone circuit, which I would be able to build, which is some capacitors and a switch and a 1.5 henry choke (inductor) which makes a notch filter. Which a lot of people don’t like, but it helped make a bunch of sounds I absolutely love, and I could totally build one from parts :)
And I have an Ibanez ES-175 copy. So now I have a plan to make a ‘Yes’ type electric guitar that is sort of a hybrid of all the stuff I grew up loving, and didn’t know how it was done.
So thanks. Happy Thanksgiving, and cheers all :)

@?BillinGlendaleCA: If/when he wins in 2022 then Kelly will serve a full term. The Republicans will be gunning for this seat hard but I don’t foresee Kelly losing it.
What might be interesting is if Johnson retires his seat to run for governor of Wisconsin. That would make three open seats. Either way I think Johnson is vulnerable.

@Anne Laurie:
December 5th is traditionally Krampus, which sorts of excuse to have more or less adult themed parties, and on Dec 6th is Nikolo where kids get (very) small presents and per tradition a red bag filled with tangerines and in-shell peanuts. Sometimes chocolate coins wrapped in gold paper.
The big presents day is Dec 24th -after- dinner, which has driven generations of kids mad to have to sit and wait while adults can’t seem to finish their meal.
The presents were brought by the Christchild (literally Baby Jesus) while the kids took a nap or are otherwise distracted while grandparents arrive with luggage despite staying only for dinner.
Eastern Block countries used to have the big present exchange on New Years Eve because no Jesus under commies of course but I don’t think anyone does this anymore.

@Viva BrisVegas:
Kelly is in AZ and vulnerable, Cortez-Matso in NV will be competitive and Hassen in NH will likely face a tough race against a popular incumbent governor. GA will be a fight as well, no matter who wins the special.
Toomey is retiring, so possibility there. Agree on the other two as well. Maybe an open seat in Iowa (but that’s a longshot)
