Act Blue just passed $7.6 Billion dollars

@David ?Booooooo!? Koch:
Exhilarating and depressing in equal measure. Fantastic support and of a system that demands endless amounts of cash shoveled into its maw. Money=speech is one of the most poisonous products of this supreme court.
Goku (aka Amerikan Baka)
@trollhattan:
True. But at least a lot of it is from grassroots small donors
I don’t know why, but I’m starting to feel a little more confident about the race. I don’t know if it was that Quinnipiac poll that showed Biden up by 5 points in Ohio or that FL poll showing Biden up by the same the other day. I’m content with donating money atm
NotMax
@Goku (aka Amerikan Baka)
Who are you and what have you done with Goku?

Does anyone know when the Obama or Biden/Obama events are? I was thinking yesterday or today, but I hadn’t heard anything. Did I miss them?
Hoping I’m not the only one who feels like they are operating at 75% instead of 100% lately.
Baud
@WaterGirl:
Seems like all the action is very localized. But I don’t know.
frosty
@WaterGirl: Wow! You’re up to 75%? Impressive!!!

@WaterGirl: I believe they are roaming
PAMI all day tomorrow.Martin
UCLA early voting data is encouraging. Among Dems, Biden 94/Trump 4. Among Independents, Biden 60/Trump 24. Among GOP Biden 13/Trump 85.
Hillary got 42% of Ind votes in 2016. So Biden has a 9 point net across Dem/GOP and a 36 point net among Ind.
Mind you, just early votes, not broken down by state, etc. But if this were to hold, Biden would win by almost 20 points. 3rd party only taking 2% of Dem votes and 2% of GOP votes. Taking 16% of Ind votes. I think we can safely say that Yeezy won’t be spoiling any elections.

@frosty:
Sorry I misread. I thought you were talking about the campaign.
I would kill for double digits in my personal operations.
debbie
@WaterGirl:
There’s zip about a campaign appearance schedule on the official website, which I find a bit odd.
Martin
@Baud: Yeah, I’ve gotten maybe 10 hours of work done this week.

@Martin: that’s more productive than I have been. Kind of giving up on the idea until sometime next week. It is what it is.

Additional info out of Nevada.
Independent voter turnout up, match Dem voting patterns, and skew younger than either party. I think the story out of this election *might* be that independent voters less occupy the middle ground between Dem and GOP and increasingly occupy the space to the left of the Dems. These are the young Dem Socialists who want the Dem party to move much more to the left, and who vote erratically depending on the candidates. They didn’t turn out in ’16 (many of them were too young to vote) but they’re turning out now. It’s both a growth of Ind voter registration with younger ages, as well as a growth of turnout for that group.
Geminid
@WaterGirl: My Atlanta friend wanted to attend a recent Biden appearance, but could not track it down. He speculated that the campaign may be prioritizing security over publicity, and was fine with that. I noticed last week that that the schedule of Kamala Harris’s trip to North Carolina was not reported even that morning. They ought to be careful.
WaterGirl
@TaMara (HFG):
That’s the best they could get? Steve Wonder? //
Martin
@WaterGirl: Hey libtards, our musicians can at least see!

Eunicecycle
@Geminid: I was thinking the same thing, that security is an issue. I know it’s always a concern, but the militia groups and other crazies out there seem a little bit more coordinated and eager to operationalize their bigotry.
James E Powell
Wonder why the Barack & Joe Show is going to Motown, where the team is doing very well, as opposed to other states where it is said that things are closer. Maybe it’s a three days, three states thing going from Michigan to Ohio to Pennsylvania, then home to Delaware.
mali muso
@WaterGirl: seriously happy memories of Stevie wonder tunes on the playlist before Obama would come onstage during 08 and 12 campaign events I attended. Higher Ground!
WaterGirl
@Martin: Next up, Trump making fun of a blind man who has more talent in his little finger than Trump has ever had.
WaterGirl
@TaMara (HFG): Thank you for all the information.
WaterGirl
@James E Powell: Their internal polling is surely telling them things that are above our collective pay grade.
Matt McIrvin
@James E Powell: You don’t want to make the mistake of going for the stretch goals and neglecting what you need to win. MI, WI and PA aren’t the closest states, because things are going well, but they’re the ones most likely to be near the margin for 270 votes, so you make sure you’ve got those nailed down.
Matt McIrvin
@mali muso: Feeling very superstitious. Writing’s on the wall.
Baud
@James E Powell:
@Matt McIrvin:
Speculating, but I wonder if they hope to win election day turnout so Trump’s attacks on mail in votes becomes moot.
gwangung
NOT EVEN IN JEST.
We’re talking the sacred Motown Trinity here, you know.
piratedan
@James E Powell: This could also be a shout out to help the Senate and Congressional races as well… I kind of get the impression that Team Biden knows that many helping hands matter and having a Senate seat well within the fold is also important.
debbie
@piratedan:
Also Governor Whitmer.
NotMax
@WaterGirl
Little Stevie is old enough to vote?
Boy, that tempus sure does fugit.
:)
TaMara (HFG)
@James E Powell: They are also doing PA, along with Kamala and spouses, I thought it was tomorrow, but I wrong…so maybe Sunday??
bluehill
@Martin: Have they tried to figure out how much repubs would have to outperform on Tuesday to negate the outperformance in early voting. It seems Trump is pinning his hopes are Tues turnout being heavily skewed to Rs in the swing states.
Winston
Over 93,000 new cases so far today. I added up the cases 13 days projected (by my math) until next Tuesday. About a million or more. Presumably that’s a million or more cases under 14 day quarantine, right? True that many will probably already have voted. But those of them planning to vote on Nov. 3; will they be allowed to vote?
Baud
@debbie: she’s not up this year, is she?
debbie
@Baud:
No, but she could use and deserves some solidarity. I think her reelection campaign will be the toughest and meanest one in the country next cycle.
Humanities Prof
@Baud: No, she’s not.
Michigan elects its Governor in the midterm cycle.
(I grew up in Michigan, and my parents still live there).
Winston
@bluehill: In the swing states, I understand the Gopees think they need 70% of the election day vote to overcome the early Dem lead.

@WaterGirl: I know Stevie Wonder personally. My aunt was very close to his mom, and he’s been to family stuff as well as just stopping by for a visit when he had shows in Chicago. He’s really a super cool dude with a great sense of humor.
What Have The Romans Ever Done for Us?
@stacib: You’re making me super jealous. Stevie is one of the greats.
WaterGirl
@gwangung: I love Motown, so I thought I could get away with it.
WaterGirl
@Baud: It would be malpractice not to go for that, I think.
Amir Khalid
@What Have The Romans Ever Done for Us?:
Indeed. If the US were to name people as “living cultural treasures” like Japan does, it could hardly do better than pick Stevie Wonder.
Sloane Ranger
CNN is saying that African Americans and Latinos in Florida aren’t coming out in the same numbers as 2016 and this may mean Trump edges the State.
I so want to breath a sigh of relief sometime on Wednesday that I am panicking. Can someone who knows Florida please reassure me? Please!
dnfree
At first I thought Ted Cruz was doing the sign language translation in the first Kamala video. That would be interesting.
White & Gold Purgatorian
@Winston: I live in Alabama, so not a swing state, but elections officials here have put out instructions for voting next Tuesday if you have COVID. Basically, stand in line with everyone else, then tell the poll worker at the door. They will pull the ill person aside and either take them to a separate area or separate room (larger polling places) or stop entry and allow only the COVID positive voter inside the polling place after the voters already inside have finished and left. With the poll workers still in there, of course. Once that person has voted and left, other voters will be allowed inside again. There was no mention of opening all the doors and windows. It is Alabama, after all.
LurkerNoLonger
@Sloane Ranger: Stop watching CNN, you’ll feel better.
What Have The Romans Ever Done for Us?
@Sloane Ranger: Well, I’m nervous too, but…Biden is doing better with white and elderly voters than Hillary did. Also, Georgia seems to be swinging our way pretty fast. The upper midwest and PA don’t seem to be tightening at all and if we win there we don’t need FL. AZ, NC, and maybe TX are alternative pickup opportunities. So are OH and IA. Thrre are lots of paths to victory for us and only one for Trump.
Sloane Ranger
@LurkerNoLonger: I can’t. It’s the only US news channel I can get here in the US (except Bloomberg).
James E Powell
@Baud:
@WaterGirl:
@Matt McIrvin:
That would make sense. I am not doubting them, I just like trying to figure out the strategy because the baseball season is over and I have free mental space.
Sloane Ranger
@What Have The Romans Ever Done for Us?: Phew, thanks. I just so want to know that, while the long nightmare may not be over, at least its days are numbered.
White & Gold Purgatorian
@Sloane Ranger: I don’t watch CNN, but here is a Bloomberg article on that same, rather alarming, topic that might offer more info. It seems that GOTV groups, especially those targeting communities of color, think the Biden-Harris campaign has not sent enough money their way. Can’t tell if it is a serious problem or a few squeaky wheels hoping for last minute application of grease — in form of $$$.
James E Powell
@Sloane Ranger:
I didn’t see that anywhere. Three days ago, CNN was reporting that
Both Hispanic voters and Black voters have increased their shares of ballots already cast
James E Powell
@White & Gold Purgatorian:
Also can’t tell if it’s just “get something negative about the Biden campaign.”
White & Gold Purgatorian
@James E Powell: Very true. The author of that piece is unfamiliar to me, but I looked at his recent stories and there was a lot about the Biden campaign, but no obvious hit pieces in the first few. However, they all want to keep us on pins and needles, clicking and refreshing nonstop, as long as they possibly can. I’m trying, not too successfully, to avoid panicking and obsessing. Wednesday can’t come soon enough.
Winston
@White & Gold Purgatorian: I am glad I voted early and don’t have to be at a super spreader event to vote. Thanks for the info. WorldoMeter now says 101,000+ new cases today.
BTW the new episode of The Mandalorian is great.
NotMax
@Sloane Ranger
You get CNN or CNN International? The latter is a marginally better operation.
Hoppie
@James E Powell: Would love to see them here in San Diego, but would MUCH MORE love to see them Win!
