There’s been a lot of interest in doing something for the people who are waiting in line for hours to vote. Here’s one thing you can do — give to Pizza to the Polls which delivers pizzas to people waiting in long lines.
There’s also Chefs for the Polls, which you can give to here (they’re not on ActBlue).
I got a lot of requests to promote down ballot races. I’m working on something for Texas and I’ll do something for PA soon too. Here’s NC and Kansas, both of which are on Sam Wang’s Moneyball list.
Kansas State Democratic Party
North Carolina State Democratic Party
Here’s some selected races from NC too.
Balloon Juice Flip NC (split between ll NC state legislature candidates)
All this crazy fundraising we and others on the left are doing is working. It gets mentioned in every article I read about non-presidential races. It’s the wave of the future. We’re on to something. See everything we are supporting here.

I’ve been giving to the Kansas Dems for a while and all their emails start with a big sunflower.

I wasn’t planning on giving any more $$$, kinda tapped out, but pizza to the polls was too good to pass on.

@Van Buren: Likewise. This strikes me as kind of immediately important.

Followed in your footsteps.

Pizza to the polls is great!
In 15 minutes the voter protection training session starts. Fired up!

We know it’s working because Lindsay Graham keeps whining about it even during the SC hearings. lol.

Pizza to the Polls— I love how people find ways to help, both the funding of it and the idea and the delivery. There are so many ways to be kind.

Man, I sure hope Quinnipiac polling isn’t skewed the wrong way. If it’s accurate, we are in blowout territory.

I wasn’t going to check every thread, but I don’t think there’s been a BJ thermometer for the 48 for 10 project or whatever it’s called, that’s looking to flip statehouses. I tossed them some coin today anyway.

As a Kansas Dem (although registered Republican so that I can fuck with their primaries), I thank you!

Contributed to Chefs to the polls this morning because of what they’ve done to help people in line for hours in Georgia.

One thing that I would like to see more of is grassroots fundraising for news gathering and community organization. Fundraising for politicians in election season has its place, obviously, but people also have to look at creating a friendlier environment for liberal politicians to run in if they want to see consistent progress take place.
I’m as bad as anyone else when it comes to bitching about the Bothsiderists at the New York Times and other places, but we all have to realize that they will never change. The editors take their marching cues from their owners and that is that. That said, ActBlue-style fundraising might be able to build a new style of ownership which would allow for a better kind of journalism. It would take billions of dollars to change the news industry, but ActBlue has raised billions, so it is possible.
Without meaningful changes to the way we do news, we will be replaying this election four years from now and then again eight years from now, always running uphill while Fox openly race-baits and the New York Times goes on Cletus Safaris. I thought the blogging culture in the 00s was beginning to make a dent, but a lot of bloggers from back in the day burned themselves out and retreated to Twitter. The trouble with using Twitter as a news source is that even the good journalists on Twitter helped bring about the rise of you-know-who by lending credibility to his chosen medium. Something has to change here.

I don’t have a lot of money, but it is so damn inspiring to see these numbers and how much this little blog has raised for so many key races. This is really a unique and amazing community.

I just voted in Texas, third day of early voting. Stood in line for 30 minutes. Not bad at all.
