Always loved the description of Lindsey Graham as a pilot fish.
Fuck him and fuck Susan Collins too.
Quinnipiac poll:
Maine Senate
Sara Gideon (D) 54%
Susan Collins (R) 42%South Carolina Senate
Lindsey Graham (R) 48%
Jaime Harrison (D) 48%Kentucky Senate
Mitch McConnell (R) 53%
Amy McGrath 41%— Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) September 16, 2020
Let’s raise some money for their opponents.
Sara Gideon, Maine Senate
Jaime Harrison, South Carolina Senate
You can see all the candidates we are supporting here. When we hit 900K total I’ll post a Benny picture.
WaterGirl
Boy, you’re not telling us how much we’ll have to pony up to get to 900k. It’s just like with the felons in Florida! :-)

I think it’s DougJ and Balloon-Juice what did it, myself.
Cheers,
Scott.
WaterGirl
@DougJ: wowser!
WaterGirl
@Another Scott: I tried to find the ad they are referring to, but I could not. Is it the one with all the video from where Lindsey was praising Biden?
WaterGirl
@DougJ: Kids grow up so fast. He’s not in high school yet, is he? Middle school?
Seriously, I am thinking he is maybe 5?
gene108
I so wished that McConnell would lose… :-(
Ohio Mom
I’ll be happy to see Susan Collins gone but Mitch McConnell — him being so far ahead is a disappointment. Even though I live just across the (Ohio) River from Kentucky, and so ought to know better.
WaterGirl
@gene108: I know. That bums me out. I still think that anything can happen in November, so I am not ruling out a McConnell loss. Even though it’s not looking good at the moment.
TS (the original)
Nice to see the Susan Collins poll. I hope she is very concerned about her prospects.
Another Scott
@WaterGirl: I assume it’s this one, but I dunno.

HTH!
Cheers,

Frank LaRose Defends Decision Not To Comply With Court Ruling On Ballot Drop Boxes
LaRose is a lying scumbag piece of shit. It’s a fucking technicality. He could lift his stupid fucking directive if he wanted to. He said he wouldn’t oppose more drop boxes if the legality of adding more drop boxes was cleared up. He fucking lied.
And fuck the Ohio Republican Party, too. Apparently citing reality and common sense is “parroting his party’s talking points.”
WaterGirl
@Another Scott: I am squeamish. Now I’m kind of afraid to watch
edit: not gonna watch.
Another Scott
@WaterGirl: Parasites perform an essential function in nature.
But we don’t have to want to hang around with them! :-)
Cheers,
Scott.

@WaterGirl:
I’ll just be happy to see McConnell out of control of the Senate, as much as I’d like to see him lose. Kentucky is just too much of a shit show, sadly. Kind of like Ohio, which isn’t a “bellwether” or swing state anymore imo
SuzieC
It’s a very effective ad Watergirl though kind of gross. And Judge Frye issued a fucking advisory opinion. He’s well known in local circles for grandstanding. He can play the hero without actually doing anything.
Eunicecycle
@Goku (aka Amerikan Baka): Did you read Maureen O’Connor’s statement ripping the GOP to shreds? Kay I think linked to it in another thread. Now some lawyers for the GOP (Ohio) are saying “um yeah, we didn’t know anything about this” and it’s been scrubbed.
WaterGirl
@SuzieC: I am not good with gross, and there are a lot of people who react in a similar fashion. I wonder if they turned off as many people as they think they reached.
An advisory opinion is bullshit. A bunch of fucking cowards.

The GOP knows it cannot win fair elections, so it will try everything it can to tilt the process. Good for the judge.
Cheers,
Scott.

The Hamton County Board of Elections used to be in downtown Cincinnati, which was arguable centrally located. If you didn’t have a car, you could get there by bus.
That building was deemed too small, and the Board was moved to an inner-ring suburb on tne east side. It’s not going to be an easily accessible drop-box location for most people, especially for bus riders. That goes for early voting too (starts October 6).

Happy to see Collins get her ass handed to her on a platter. Hope this poll holds up. Of course McGrath v. McConnell in KY is looking less and less hopeful. Any Bluegrass Staters out there in the Jackaltariat care to chime in on why she’s having a hard time gaining traction against the Turtle this year? Is it fundraising, or some other issue? She seemed like a great candidate on paper…

@Aleta: The more reporting I see on this, the more it seems Trump and Barr were gunning for their own Tiananmen Square moment. Absolutely chilling.
Aleta
@jonas: I think they’re trying to scare people away from street protest if Rs manage to alter votes or registrations enough to affect the EC or the Senate outcome.

@Aleta: Lord, it must be pretty bad to have been rejected by Secretary “Babies-In-Cages”.

White progressives MIGHT waver. POCs and their leadership won’t.
