We’ve been writing postcards for flipthewest.com. The first couple of lists were for Mark Kelly in Arizona, and the last few (25 names/addresses in each) have been in support of Greenfield, with info on how to request an absentee ballot.
It’s so easy: Go to the site and they’ll send you a list and a short script. You can order blank, pre-stamped postcards from the good ol’ USPS for 39 cents each/batches of 10.
Right now they are targeting the Senate races in Alaska, Iowa, Colorado, Arizona, and Montana. Seems like a great cause. You can donate to them too. I just did.

I also added Hungry Joe’s suggestion to the Things We Can Do list we’ve been building in the Things We Can Do posts. There’s always a link under Featuring in the sidebar and in the hamburger menu on mobile.

@MazeDancer:
What’s that?

Now that’s a song I can get behind.

The women’s march has an event every Tuesday night where you can text to other women in your state for Democratic candidates.

I am so disappointed that the QAnon crazy is tied with Diane Mitsch Bush. We do not need multiple QAnon people in the House. Please make it stop.
WaterGirl
@MomSense: If you want to post a link, MomSense, I will add it to the Things We Can Do list.

@WaterGirl:
Here is the link to text banking Tuesdays. It starts with a brief training at 300 PST and then texting.

I went to the site, but there isn’t any mention of sending postcards. Can somebody post a link for that?
germy
He’s always been this way
silvery
@la caterina: it’s under their About – What We Do section – not the easiest to find. https://www.flipthewest.com/postcardathome
la caterina
@silvery: Thanks!
WaterGirl
@MomSense: Added to the list, thanks! Let m know if I should change the wording. (list is under Featuring)
WaterGirl
@la caterina: I updated the Flip The West entry on the list to take you directly to phone banking.
In the previous link, you had to scroll down and click Volunteer.

we have a primary Tuesday for my county. Apparently the new fashion is texting voters. I hate it. Unsubscribe and block. I suspect most of them aren’t even my district as so far I haven’t heard of most but anyway, I hate strangers sending unsolicited stuff to my phone.

@Gvg:
Agreed. I feel the same way about all unsolicited contacts – texts, phone calls & emails – but the modern world is not interested in what I think. It may be that the younger demos don’t consider it as intrusive as I do.
I donated to the Biden campaign and I now get two or three texts a day asking for more money. It’s a little annoying, but I feel like I knew that would happen when I donated and accepted it.
WaterGirl
@James E Powell: You can ask them not to text you. That’s what I did.

@MazeDancer: MazeDancer, are you spinning up Postcards to Patriots this year?
I’m case people may have forgotten, MazeDancer set up a big postcards to voters effort for previous years.
Hungry Joe
Dougj’s link takes you to flipthewest phone banking. If you go to flipthewest.com yourself, click on Volunteer at the top, then Postcards.
WaterGirl
@Hungry Joe: If you go to the list of things to do that’s under Featuring in the sidebar (and in the hamburger on mobile), I have linked directly to the writing postcards area.
Hopefully that will eliminate confusion.
WaterGirl
@satby: In case MazeDancer doesn’t see your question…
We talked earlier today, and she is in the process of writing something up for our consideration.
That will be featured in one of the What We Can Do posts this week.
RedDirtGirl
I’ve been writing letters for votefwd
You don’t send them until October, but I’m up to 400.

@WaterGirl: @satby:
https://www.postcardpatriots.com/ is still up and has some good information.
Looking forward to what MD has in store for us this fall. :-)
Cheers,
Scott.

@MazeDancer: Yeah, so I went to USPS and created an account so I could order the postcards that it took me forever to find, and them when I created the account thre USPS got around to putting up a message that allowed as how that feature wasn’t available right now. FFS, we must have flooded them…

@?BillinGlendaleCA: We’re going home…
