The Right: What we need to do is send all the young people out to get the virus while we keep the old people safe at home
America: OK ?
The Right: Wait, no. Not like that. Help

From the Australian Dept of Health:
‘As at 3:00pm on 3 June 2020, a total of 7,229 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Australia, including 102 deaths and 6,640 have been reported as recovered from COVID-19.
8 new cases today, all but 1 in Victoria. 25 are in hospital, 5 in ICU and 2 ventilated.
Amir Khalid
Malaysia’s daily numbers. 93 new cases, of which only two are Malaysians and none are imported cases. The spike today is due to 55 detainees at Bukit Jalil immigration detention centre and 36 foreign workers — sounds like an employer (or more) had their foreign workers tested and some results came back positive. Total 7,970 cases.
61 more patients recovered , total 6,531 rcovered or 81.94 % of all cases. Of 1,324 active cases, six are in ICU and two of those are on ventilators. No deaths for the 12th straight day, total still 15. Infection fatality rate 1.44%, case fatality rate 1.73%.

I have an idea that the American equivalent is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Actuaries are a whole other species.

Well, since I twisted my knee I’ve been taking large doses of ibuprofen for the pain, so yay if I catch covid-19?

@terben: You are correct. And the distinction is important for a joke in The Economist years ago: “Actuaries are people who cannot stand the excitement of chartered accountancy”
Uncle Cosmo
@montanareddog: “Economists are people who like to work with numbers but aren’t personable enough to be accountants,”

@Amir Khalid:
Whoops, total deaths should be 115.

@montanareddog: LOL. I once temped for a nice office full of accountants. One fellow was on vacation, and for a week I was told, “You’re so funny! You will appreciate when that guy comes back.”
He was a wild fellow, all right. He wore a red tie.
