And nerdy, but…
Biden: Dwarf Prot Warrior named Gimle or something basic. Miner/Blacksmith. Not the guild’s first tank choice, but always shows up to raids so he gets use from time to time. Always blows the pull.

As a guild/raid leader for many eons, I kept several of these guys around because even if they didn’t do the best, you consistency was worth more than the guy that only sticks around for a few months and leaves you hanging for a better offer or just vanishes into the real world. Also, when the loudmouthed guy that did do better finally left, the weaker but loyal option almost always stepped up to do just as good a job.

Yeah, too niche for me, but I appreciate this as an effort to find some perspective and humor in our current circumstances. Instead of being totally paralyzed with anxiety.

Actually, Biden is the off tank who switches to prot from dps to keep the raid from falling apart, misses the taunt, dies, gets the rez, misses the taunt again, wipes the raid and apologizes to everyone while noting that “hey, at least we got the 5% buff for wiping.”
Yep, I’ve been playing since Vanilla beta.

I guess I should vote for Warren because my fave character was my Holy Paladin. I was really good back in WoTLK days.

@AnnaN: You talkin’ bout lfr right now.

I’ve been playing since vanilla day one and I still keyboard turn. Just had to get that out there,

Apparently I’m Andrew Yang… except the gnome part.

Did I miss Bernie?
Just checked again – nope, not there. Don’t know a thing about WoW, but those are amusing. and Warren’s: wow (so to speak). Do character’s ‘win’ in WoW, or is it all a team thing? I’d love to know how Paladin Janice does.

@ninerdave: Just make yourself drive with the mouse for a week. You’ll be glad you did. :)

Keyboard strafing, on the other hand, I always found useful in a pinch!
Just Chuck
I think of Bernie as a DPS who never calibrates and runs toward the healers instead of the tank when he draws aggro, resulting in a wipe.

this may be your best post ever
Anna
@ruemara: indeed I am. :)

@Just Chuck Bernie is the noob tank who pulls 20 mobs during bolstering/fortified resulting in two boss mobs which take three to five mins to kill, can’t take the damage and dies, then calls everyone a noob as he drops group thereby burning your key. His plan was unrealistic, would never work, then blames the group for his failures.

That makes me think Warren would be the ultimate healer or buff(/debuff?) character – the person you always need, who never really gets any glory, except from the thoughtful raiders who realize “wow, she switched from healing to protection to buff back to healing, at *precisely* the right times to have saved the raid four different times,” but even they usually forget themselves and cheer the tanks or DPS folks.
(NB: I know *nothing* about World of Warcraft characters – from what I’ve heard, you probably can’t do all of buffs, healing, protection etc., with the same character (or in the same raid, maybe?) but she does strike me as the perfect utility character who’d save the raid *somehow*, and probably multiple times, but no one would notice, because she didn’t do anything flashy, or stupid, just lots, and lots, of The Right Thing To Do, Competently and Well. I also love computer gaming, and find the world to be brutally unfair that I don’t even know *how* to play WOW – Chronic Fatigue robs even the fun parts from being a disabled geek.)
