@opiejeanne: It’s in Orion. If you look at the 3 stars in Orion’s belt and look below you’ll see Orion’s sword. The nebula is in the sword and is visible(meaning you can notice the nebuluosity) to the naked eye even in light polluted skies on a clear moonless night.
