On the Road and In Your Backyard

Good Morning All,

This is the last of the submissions I have. I’ll search old stuff for more, but I’ll be running some of my pics tomorrow, at minimum.

Today, pictures from valued commenter HinTN.

Alain – On 4 July you ran the first of three email submissions (Bryce Canyon) and promised that the other two (Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, Arches NP and one from Dead Horse Point SP) would run the following Thursdays.

They did not.

I can send them again but that would beef the THIRD time.

Thank you so much HinTN, do send us more when you can.

Travel safely everybody, and do share some stories in the comments, even if you’re joining the conversation late. Many folks confide that they go back and read old threads, one reason these are available on the Quick Links menu.

This is complete bullshit, and an insult to HinTN. A random sideways picture of a dog?! GTFO.

@HinTN: He is a good dog! His picture is there because I tried emailing Alain about the follow-on submissions that were supposed to ruin the Thursdays after the Independence Day issue. These would have been Capitol Reef NP, Canyonlands NP, Arches NP, and Dead Horse Point SP. He didn’t answer email so I tried the form. It demanded a photo so you get Lightning.

ETA – Maybe it was decided they would “ruin” the following Thursdays… ;^)

@HinTN: Alain might not be able to post for two weeks while the site rebuild is progressing. At least that is what several jackals said on a thread yesterday.
Dogs are wonderful except when they dig and bring you bunnies. I’m looking at my mutt whose sleeping on a chair.

@Sister Golden Bear: email me at alain at this domain and include some text please. I had expected the new site to be live by now, but it’s not, clearly. I’ll see what I can do to resurrect the form.

Sorry, composed this on iPad and didn’t see the pic was sideways,

I would guesstimate Alain spends at least five noncompensated hours per week working to entertain us first thing in the morning. I don’t understand why folks get uppity when he has a slight misstep.

I’d send you dozens of pictures of the devastation in Abaco and the obliteration of my island, but I guess we want to stay a bit more cheery than that. I haven’t been able to leave the computer and communication duties for a week, but as I remember, my part of Maine is lovely.

@Mart: I used to, now, not so much. Much more credit should go to the other Frontpagers. I am always in awe of their hard work.

@Skepticat: That’s not something we should avoid. Please, do send me some and I’ll post.

I prefer an intro/story, then pics and explanations for each pic. Date, location, your nym so I can post it and give you credit. Just your email or your real name won’t make it easy for me to properly attribute your submissions, folks.
