From commentor KSinMA:
My brother is moving from Rhode Island to the West Coast, and sadly he can’t take his cat with him.
Lily is a black and white female. She is ten, spayed, and is up to date on all her shots.
She is very friendly and a great companion around the house. Loves her belly scratched and is very gentle. Great with kids, but not with other animals.
If you’re interested, or know someone who might be, leave a comment below. Or email me at annelaurie (dot) bj (at) gmail, and I’ll forward your message to KS.

What a pretty kitty, and I say that as a dog person. Hope she finds a proper home to charm.

Awww, Lily looks a lot like my Oliver. Will chip in for transport, if needed.

Oh, I’m smitten. If Emma would allow another female (eta: oh, and I see she’s not happy with other animals) I’d be tempted. I’ll share on FB and in for travel $$ if needed.

My first girl kitty was named Lily. And this Lily looks like a great starter – or empty nest – cat.
Maybe all the BJ cat talk has you cat curious, but unsure. Well, step right up. Time to find out how great it is. A mellow 10-year-old. black & white kitty is just the place to start.
Or, maybe, sadly, all your furry friends have departed, and you’re just not sure you can do it again. But the house seems so empty. Rescue! Don’t think of it “doing it again”, what you’re doing is giving a great cat a great life.
Most of us have a cat, or four, so Lily can’t come to our house. That’s why we’re counting on you without a current kitty, and will be happy to transport Ms Lily to your door.
ETA: And good with kids. Bonus!

Poor Lily. You know you want to give her a forever home! Step on up, lurking Juicers!

@MazeDancer: You are my hero today.
Spanky
The last cat who left us was a black and white named Lily. Every B&W cat we’ve had has had, for good or ill, a strong personality. Fortunately, they’ve all been sweet cats – and mostly clowns even past their tenth year.
If we didn’t already have 5 and she’s a one-cat household type, I’d seriously run this one past Mrs. Spanky.

HER NAME IS LILY SOMEONE TAKE HER GOD DAMNIT

@MazeDancer: What MazeDancer said! Someone ping Immantize, I think he was talking about getting a pet now that he’ll be an empty nester.
I would love to take her, but the cats I have right now are bickering upstairs and it’s making the dogs anxious (lots of noise and drama, no behavior that could result in injuries). I’m out of Feliway, but some is on order ?

@satby: That stuff really does work!

Our cats sometimes spar, the big one flips the little one on her back, and little one tears into big one from a superior tactical location. Much hollering.
10.5 lbs versus 14 lbs. Speed vrs weight. Ali vrs Liston…
Dog doesn’t care. Nor do we, now. No blood shed.

@J R in WV: With our two cats, it’s brains vs brawn.
The smart one ambushes the big one, then has to skedaddle when the big one gets pissed.

Oh, she’s adorable. Unfortunately, I already have a cranky senior cat who prefers a one-cat household.
But yeah, senior rescue cats are AMAZING. My previous kitty was in this situation (adopted at 10) and she lived for 9 more happy years. So step right up, cat lovers! Chances are you’ll get a wonderful pet.
Spanky
Yeah, someone ping Im! I’m sure we can find someone to make the trek all the way from RI to Bahston. //rolleyes
Ten is not quite senior, ime. More equivalent to mid-50s in hooman years.

Also happy to chip in for transportation, since I’m on the wrong coast with two cats and a husky. The husky is moving out next week. There have been no problems between them, he is a sweet laid-back puppy and the other four members of the household took him on lots of run/walk so he didn’t get bored.
rikyrah
Oh, I hope that Lily finds a home. Contact Imma?

I have two senior kitties of my own, so not an option, or I’d take her. Unfortunately all the Juicers that I know of around Boston have multiple pets already.
p.a.
I’ll ask around.

@Spanky: I believe Immanentize and their cat Toast will be on their own when the Immp heads to college. I’d take her – she’s so beautiful – but Harry DQs this house because he’s a dog.

@Alternative Fax, a hip hop artist from Idaho: oh, I thought Imman was without pets at the moment. This little lady may have to adjust to at least one other cat in the house. Animal lovers usually have multiples.

KSinMA: you may want to check with the vet she’s been going to as well. They may know someone who has lost a companion and might be ready to rescue another. Best can be great resources for finding new homes for pets. They know people who reliably take care of their pets, and who may be yearning for a new pet (a suitable time) after a beloved pet has passed.
KSinMA
Thanks, everyone! And great idea about the vet, Satby, thx!

In for transport costs as needed, Luca being permanently hostile to everything not resembling me or his dinner.

Since I have 4 kittehs, I’m good for transport$$

I live in RI and if I can help with actual transport I will. Have also shared this on my college alum FB pets group
