BFF Tammy took Samantha and Charlie to the spa, and they got major haircutes. Now, I want to go on record that I think Samanthat looks fabulous and adorable, but Tammy cried when she saw them:
Remember, she had some horrible disease and almost died and had to have her teefus removed, that’s why we have so much tongue action. I love her almost as much as I love Lily.
Tams
Awwww!!! This post brought tears to my eyes. Good tears. Not the tears when I first saw her. And I know how deeply you love her. That’s why your her God-BFF- Father! ❤️?
Leto
She is way too cute!
Emma
Just a beautiful girl. I don’t often comment on pet threads but today I need all the cute love I can get.
ArchTeryx
I’m glad that she survived! She looks like a pretty happy pooch, teef or not.
She’s also cute enough to be a meme factory.
guachi
So cute!
Pets of Balloon Juice centerfold worthy on the first shot.
laura
What a sweet, soulful face. She looks like she knows she looks good and hopes you noticed too.
trollhattan
Could be the goofiest puppy expression I’ve seen and since I’m objectively pro goofy puppy, a good thing.
Is it too late to add a bow?

She is so cute! That tongue just slays me.
Definitely a haircute.

Enough lawyers and the legal curious hereabouts to make mention of this:
Emoji are showing up in court cases exponentially, and courts aren’t prepared.
Picturing the most stereotypical of computer nerds, on staff and flouting the dress code, sitting at the big teak conference table inside big law firms as a matter of course now.
“Comments on this case? Frank? Phil? Cameron? Scooby69?”
Leto
@Yarrow: Hope she got a hamberder for a treat. And agreed, tongue slayed me too. I can’t stop smiling at her pic.

@NotMax: Teak? Really?

This Dog got shorn today, because he’s going to a memorial service and he needs to be less bushy to fit into the rooms with all the relatives. He had his thick winter bear coat and came home shorter by a good four inches (from floor to the top of his back). And so much thinner it looks like he shrank in the wash. It’s pretty funny. We always ask for the hair so it doesn’t go to the landfill. They said “Oh we know, you’re the ones that want the hair,” so I guess we might be the only ones. But that much dog hair every day … washed before it’s cut … why not compost it all somewhere. Or make booms to absorb oil spills. https://matteroftrust.org/297/clean-wave-program
I should ask to see if they would let it all be sent there, instead of putting it into the trash.

@Omnes Omnibus
Thought that might elicit comment. You priced mahogany lately?
;)

@Omnes Omnibus
Actually learned a new (for me) tidbit from the article. Namely that emojis may not display identically across devices/platforms.
Yarrow
@NotMax: I knew it was an issue going from Apple to Android. I saw some TV segment on it where they showed what emoji someone on an iPhone sent and what the person on the Android phone got. It was quite different.
Aleta
But where’s haircut Charlie ?
CaseyL
D’aww.
From the side, she looks like she’s got a 60’s era shag cut.
Sister Golden Bear
Adorbs!

@NotMax: We need to get ISO* on that immediately.
*It’s worked so well with digital cameras.

@NotMax:
That’s right. When I try to implant one from my good Mac onto whatever my work thing is via e-mail it gets fucked up.
But the work thing can at least do a primitive little smilie and frownie. Does wonders for morale.
Steve in the ATL
@NotMax: so a squirrel and comet emoji create a binding contract in Israel. Good to know!

Emojis, like other characters, are regulated by the Unicode Consortium. Their intended purpose is to define the letters, numbers, and other symbols of the Unicode character set. In addition to all of the alphabets, abjads, and other writing systems, and all the math, currency, etc., they’ve been stuck with the task of defining emojis. The Japanese started it by using some available bit patterns for smiley faces and other pictograms. Somebody thought it would be a good idea to standardize them. I think the Unicode folks wish they’d never started down the path. The last thing they want to have to do is agree on the actual pictures.

@Steve in the ATL: Squirrel and moose…kids these days.
Tams
Cole, you need to post sweet pics of Sam and Charlie – please! I love and they love you!

Samantha’s new doo reminds me of this.

He really is phenomenal. He’s so aware of the individuals around him even though he’s moving fast through the crowd while it’s going wild with energy. And he’s making good contact with the whole crowd *and* at the same time the individuals he’s nearest to, so the room is brought together, everyone is feeling touched. It’s more than an athlete does and more than a ‘star’ does, though he has those qualities too.
Right now I feel glad he’s more free to try to do whatever he thinks he can—not have to be in charge presiding over all this ugly insane hate today.

@Tams:
She is like the cutest dog I’ve ever seen!
Is “haircutes” intentional in John’s OP? If it were Adam, I wouldn’t be sure.

@Aleta:
I’ve had the good fortune to experience this — I said “God bless you,” and he said “Thank you” and looked into my eyes, and for that nanosecond we were the only two people in the world. I love him so much.
oldster
“I love her almost as much as I love Lily.”
Watch your mouth, pal. As one of Lily’s oldest fans, I’m just going to pretend you didn’t say that.
The Moar You Know
It’s the ones who maybe aren’t so “pretty” or “cute” that need our love the most.
Although Dog knows this little girl is cute.
TomatoQueen
She’s a little love.
kindness
I wait until spring to cut dog’s hair. They need it when they go outside in winter.
Cam
That tongue gets me every time – so adorable.
Heidi Mom
She’s adorable! If the dog looks comfortable with the haircut, and Samantha does, then it’s a good one.
