So, this is a real tweet that the current President of the United States sent a little while ago about a person he hired to represent the United States of America abroad:
Mike Pompeo is doing a great job, I am very proud of him. His predecessor, Rex Tillerson, didn’t have the mental capacity needed. He was dumb as a rock and I couldn’t get rid of him fast enough. He was lazy as hell. Now it is a whole new ballgame, great spirit at State!
As I’ve mentioned, I’m refraining from embedding the fool’s tweets to spare us all the sight of his hideous orange face, but here’s a link if you want to make sure it’s a 100% real tweet from the POTUS and not a spoof account run by an eight-year-old boy. Help us, Mueller-wan-kenobi; you’re our only hope!
Open thread.

I wouldn’t throw a rope to a drowning child if I knew its parents voted for that creature. I wouldn’t want to be responsible for whatever evil that child did when it grew up.

I love the smell of tariffs in the morning. That smell, that gasoline smell…. smells like blowback.

Somebody needs to remind twitler that he hired Rex.
Smedley Darlington Prunebanks (formerly Mumphrey, et al.)
He’s too stupid to understand that if what he says is true, it makes him look bad that he chose him to begin with, and said all kinds of flattering things about him for so long. And his voters are too stupid to work this out, either. Shit. He goes on about Rod Rosenstein being a traitor every other day. He can’t work that one out, either.

This is the dumbest timeline. I’m watching the lab employees play cornhole. I mean, listening, since I’d much rather do my document edits and finish this week on time. I have no idea how people eat so much white bread, sugar & fats. I feel like a nauseous potato. I swear december is an entire month where nothing can be done.

I expect the obligatory(historical) tweet from Trump, saying Tillerson is the greatest, is just about to be found.
Corner Stone
The sad fact was that Tillerson probably was lazy and didn’t want to hear anything from any staff.
Mary G
Mike Pompeo with his “oh, no the Saudis aren’t killing children in Yemen,” and decision to bring “swagger” to the highest diplomatic position in the whole country is a disaster waiting to happen. Tillerson wasn’t good, but it was out of the frying pan and into the fire with the change.
Archon
The fact that 40 percent of the country still approves of Trump is extremely depressing.

If the deep state has plans to take out Trumpolini, now is as good a time as any to put them in action.

An eight-year-old boy is so far ahead of Lying Littledick in everything — except blimpitude — so I think you owe them (collectively) an apology.

@zhena gogolia: Just reading the link text, I knew that none of it was news. The only news is that Tillerson said it out loud.
I hope someone asked him why he took the job, given that everyone and his brother knew that Trump was lazy, did not read, and could not be taught.
Corner Stone

While I don’t dispute that Rex may be dumb and lazy, say it with me people: PROJECTION, PROJECTION, PROJECTION!

I’m willing to believe Tillerson is a true putz, one who ran a phenomenally corrupt and powerful corporation in a manner contributing to the peril of us all. He was certainly a putz at State, which he began dismantling the second he got there.
Stupid, he is not. He is also personally more wealthy and powerful than civilian Trump and I don’t doubt for a nanosecond he is comfortable using some of that acquired power and resources to fuck with Trump, especially now. If Trump thinks he just inoculated himself, he wrong.

Tried to read the memo on Cohen on Pacer, but you have to have a login, so it’s block by block on Twitter for now:

That tweet was so incredibly ignorant I screen-shotted it and sent it to my RWNJ dad (who isn’t on Twitter). He said he “missed Dutch and 41”. Sorry, it doesn’t quite work that way…this is YOUR guy and YOUR party now.

No human could possibly be like this. I am there forced to conclude that hostile alien forces (either terrestrial or extraterrestrial) have put a robot of some kind the White House. At this point it is the only explanation that makes any sense.

Yeah, no shit. One does not get to be ExxonMobil CEO without having something upstairs. Ans one doesn’t get there by being lazy, either. (Although I can’t comment on him at State, in that regard).
I would like to see Tillerson tweet back to Fuckhead that he could out-think the Liar-in-Chief with 90 percent of his [Tillerson’s] brain tied behind his back. And, just for good measure, he should question Littledick’s manhood in some appropriately cutting fashion.

@Betty Cracker: I’m guessing that Cohen waited too long, and Mueller already knew everything he had to trade, so no deal for him. This is from the New York branch, not the special counsel’s, so they have no real reason to be nice.

Probably coincidence that tweet came out right after news that Tillerson’s been rather freely chatting things up with Mueller. One of Tillerson’s tasks was to get big oil deals back on track with Russia, and something stopped that. Maybe Tillerson balked when he saw how unsound the methods had to be? Not worth the jail time?
I didn’t know how dirty McGahn was until I read that recent BJ post. Looks like McGahn decided he wanted to avoid hard time, and preferred getting his ass kicked out of the WH. After reading about McGahn’s history, I have to wonder what he was ordered to do, but refused.

@Mary G: I’m reading the document, and it also says that Cohen refused to discuss crimes other than those he’d already pleaded to and says therefore his assistance wasn’t “substantial.” That section very much reads like a warning to anyone else who is facing indictment and might have info.
Comrade Colette Collaboratrice
@trollhattan:
Yup. Those guys had to go and spoil it for the rest of us. There was a huge scandal several years ago because one of our sister agencies used ratepayer money to buy a box of sugar for the office coffee set-up.
I’m restraining myself from clicking on the initial teaser stories about Cohen – getting the news in dribs and drabs is just going to make either my hopes or my blood pressure rise unduly.

WhaT? Was Mr. “dumb as a rock, lazy as hell” Tillerson questioned? Fwiw, I believe he was making deals for Exxon in Russia even after the 2014 sanctions (though some projects were temporarily halted).

Interesting video about rapidly deployable structures (for disaster relief, etc), and the use of origami — i.e., its rules of folding. (Which are now used as a part of a “universal design medium, the basis to create new drugs, structures from DNA, and to make myriad devices from pop-up machines to shape-shifting robots.”) Cool pictures.
“Taken together, advances in the use of origami and inflatable multi-material devices offer a new design paradigm for rapidly deployable structures. The critical next step is to bring these techniques up to the architectural scale.”
The video and quotes are from an architecture course in Deployable Surfaces taught by Chuck Hoberman. (Hoberman’s sphere, etc.)

@A Ghost To Most: Also, the wood cornhole frame is portable and can be quickly set up on any surface, unlike horse-shoes.

Does anyone else feel that Tillerson’s sending up trial balloons to see how many big corporate and Wall Street power players want to join in? Feels like his criticisms have been discussed with many other folks.
jl
@Dan B: If so, Tillerson’s been sending up trial balloons ever since he was fired. He was issuing very thinly disguised criticisms of how the Trumpsters dealt with Russia and other authoritarian countries since shortly after he was booted. Maybe the criticisms weren’t thinly disguised at all, but just very politely saying Trump was a dumb asshole who kissed up to brutal authoritarians rather than working for the US. I’d have to go look at some of the youtube clips to be sure.

Naturally Fat Bastard is lashing out at Tillerson because he’s going to be on TV on Sunday (CBS), to once again remind viewers what a “fucking moron” he used to work for. That’s gonna burn for a good long time.

I looked up Tillersons bio about the time he got canned. I can’t believe this but I was really impressed by his bio. Yes, I know he was a bigshot GOPr. Okay, he ran Exxon and he’s obviously got all the expected baggage from that but the guy was born middle class or lower and worked his way up Exxon. He wasn’t a silver spoon. He is a big supporter of the Boy Scouts org. Anyhow what I remember was that when Trumpov was making nasty comments about Tillerson last year,Tillerson had just lost his dad. Just as a human being how do you treat someone like that when they’ve just lost their father? – a momentous occasion in most people’s lives.
laura
@Comrade Colette Collaboratrice: try the final final in the marina or bottom of the hill in potrero
jl
@Mai Naem mobile: Whatever his other drawbacks, Tillerson is a person who worked his way up in an organization that survives by competent multi-decadal planning, and respect for science and engineering (otherwise things blow up and otherwise go to complete shit). He may even fancy he is an enlightened kind of guy and likes to think about what his precious giant corporation will be doing for money after the fossil fuel era ends. Maybe he thinks the disinformation campaigns about global warming were necessary evils needed to ease the way for the humongous richer than God giant corporation. Or maybe he is just a very competent greedhead who is mightily pissed that the Trumpsters screwed up getting the Russian oil deals going again, which was his idea of what Secty of State’s job should rightfully be. God only knows what he thinks.
But, not surprised if by now he hates Trump’s guts and holds him complete contempt.

Dump has always been rich, and when the rich guy says something, everyone around him goes, “Yes indeed, sir.” So he’s had a lifetime of thinking that everything he says is right and that everyone who hears it automatically agrees with him. By now, reality has no way of impinging on his bottomless self-regard. He really believes that anyone he attacks will automatically lie down and play dead.
