Before noon today, I asked the White House if Donald Trump would be reassessing his use of phrases with anti-Semitic implications like “globalist” and if not, how he justifies the continued use of that term. Trump’s a small man. A very, very small man.
Gelfling 545
To borrow from Candidate Gillam, maybe Trump’s not antisemetic but those who are quite obviously think he is.
I feel quite sure both the mass mudered and the attempted murderer are now confidently expecting their hero to pardon them. Little do they know that as they are not rich or influential he has use tor them.

As a narcissistic sociopath, it’s clear Trump has trouble feeling empathy of any kind. He hears about people dying — people of the same faith as his own daughter and son-in-law, and he simply doesn’t give a shit. “What time’s dinner?” is his response. The man is a complete ghoul.

Anyone who opposes Donnie and his Minions, and has the means to persuade others, is a threat to them. That’s why Soros, who supports organizations to make Democracy stronger and weaken tyrants around the world is such a boogie man to them.
They’re so transparent. (Similarly, anything they accuse their opponents of doing is usually something they are doing or want to do themselves.)
If people are going to pay attention to his tweets and rallies, they should only do so to the extent that he indicates who we should all ally with to oppose him. Donnie attacks individual or group X means that he’s afraid of X and therefore we should have common cause with X.
Relatedly, tweets should (almost) never, ever be considered news IMHO. Anyone around the world can easily gain access to Donnie’s tweets. A naked tweet is not news. News organizations should be in the business of collecting and distributing information that is important and not easy for normal people to collect and digest. Investigative reports; reporting from far-flung areas of the country; stories about important complex topics. IOW, the absolute opposite of what Twitter is – especially as used by Donnie. The MSM regurgitating Donnie’s tweets is the laziest form of reporting, and is dangerous to our democracy…

Again, I say: Trump considers himself a Nazi. He had to be pushed into saying anything bad about Nazis, and immediately backtracked it. He’s been retweeting Nazis for years. His response to Jews being murdered in an anti-Semitic hate crime is to start using words like ‘globalist’ and declare himself a ‘nationalist.’ Dude, he’s an actual, no-hyperbole or metaphor, Heil Hitler Nazi. You think Jared means he isn’t one? Ben Carson has a cabinet post, and Trump sure as Hell hates black people with a burning passion. There’s always room for the Good N-.
When he dies and written proof is uncovered, the fact that we had a Nazi President will be fun for historians.

Where in the hell are the media? The Republican leader in the House is peddling antisemitism. A vote for ANY Republican for Congress is a vote to make McCarthy the Speaker of the House (Ryan is retiring). That frankly is a bigger story than Trump – everyone already knows that Trump is a bigot.

Republicans don’t just campaign against their political opponents. They campaign, demonize, and undercut by law anyone who might be a barrier to their ambitions. And that includes liberal judges, environmental groups, civil rights groups, unions, environmentalists and especially any source of democratic money. Meanwhile, the Koch brothers, Coors Family, Mercers, Adelson, and other billionaires of their ilk support the far right infrastructure with impudence.
The book Dark Money spells it out, and a documentary also called Dark Money, winner at Sundance, is free to view until Oct 31.
Democrats with the highest visibility should be running against these people as well as their immediate opponent. They need to have a light shown upon them. It does not happen enough.
Raoul
Over the short term this sh*t may work to pump Stubbyhand’s ego. But I sure hope the utter crassness of things like Trump joking about his bad hair day when 11 people are murdered, and at least three Pittsburgh cops are seriously injured, percolates quickly into the conscience of plenty of voters.
There is an answer to the GOP’s utter moral collapse. Kick them out. A huge number of them. OUT of office. Now. (well, in 9 days, but that’s now in political terms)

Sadly, there’s not enough Nazi’s in the US, so you have to import them,
“The English Defence League founder, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, has been invited to give an address in Washington by members of Congress and is waiting to see if US authorities will grant a visa for the event, scheduled for 14 November.
The Middle East Forum (MEF), a US neo-conservative thinktank, and the rightwing David Horowitz Freedom Center invited the 35-year-old, who, despite repeatedly falling foul of the British justice system, has growing support in the US. Robinson is on bail after being charged with contempt of court, and has a string of previous convictions in Britain.”
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/oct/27/tommy-robinson-edl-stands-to-make-1-million-pounds-on-us-speaking-tour
Valuable work the ReThug Congress is doing, importing Nazi’s for speeches.

Somehow, conservatives think that the words to popular songs can instantly corrupt the innocent minds of children, but Trump’s words never influence anyone. Except that they also think his tough talk about other countries is responsible for all kinds of wonderful things. But his talk about hurting journalists and how Democrats are ‘crazy’ is nothing to be concerned about. Yet when he talks about Making America Great Again it’s inspirational and motivating. But when he says maybe the 2nd amendment people could have solved a potential Hillary Clinton problem, that’s just bluster. And when he says “Merry Christmas” and “God bless America” he’s showing moral leadership. But when he says he’s entitled to grab women by their pussies, it’s just harmless locker room talk.

@Ruckus: @Ruckus: The Reichwing has had more than four decades to incorporate Atwaterian dogwhistle into its vernacular. Before that ran two centuries of Southern Nice, which is just a less-offensive way of describing applying offensive connotation to innocuous words and phrases (“That’s nice” and “bless your heart” are the classic Southern Nice insults and archetypcal of the codespeak). The US left and right have spoken different languages for a very long time. I suspect that similar distinctions ran rife through Jackson’s and Buchanan’s administrations. What is different now is the sheer volume of examples and the ease with which they can be found.
