That could so be my dog.

I hope none of his followers complain about that video being cruel to the dog. There’s been a lot of that over there lately.

OMG that is funny. Thank you!

I admire that dog’s persistence: still goin’ for it even after crashing into the cabinet.

It’s cute, but for repeat viewing I find you can’t beat this one.

Alright, non-politics…how about some video then.
Posted this on the morning thread, but for obvious reasons it was lost in the breaking news.
Here’s your something to make you laugh before you start your day, courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel

Doggo needs work on eye-jaw coordination. Though hardwood and tile floors are hard for them to get traction.

Another video…
Those Luvs “first kid, second kid” commercials are hilarious! I’ve never had kids, and never will, but I have raised a baby sister or 2, and of course all the new nieces and nephews.
This commercial is my favorite though, cause it reminds me of my youngest sister and her husband, parents to Layla and Joshua.

Ok…maybe I’m the only one who thinks so, but new sitcom on Fox “The Cook Kids” is pretty darn funny.
Martin Mull, Vicky Lawrence, David Alan Grier and the FABULOUS Leslie Jordan are hilarious!!

AH yes, bare floors and pups rarely end well for the pup’s dignity.

After the flood of Hurricane Floyd we replaced all the carpets with vinyl tile, the dogs were like WTF? They couldn’t handle it and would regularly slide across the floor into all sorts of furniture. I miss them.

Thanks for this.

This is my favorite animal video:
It’s short, so have the volume up!

@lamh36: Margaret(Vicky Lawrence): let’s create a fake profile and help…find love
Sid (Leslie Jordan): (softly) Margaret, I’m gon tell you like I told my sister when she said she wanted to be a singer…(big pause)…BITCH that’s a terrible idea!
That Leslie Jordan delivery of that line…LOL

Good news: Pain levels have been dropping dramatically and I finally should be able to get completely off the opiate-based pain killer by Monday — although I’m still on a hefty dose of Tylenol, until I can ramp off that as well.
Which in turns means I can get back on my antidepressant, which had I conflict with the pain med. I’d previously been doing well without it, and had hoped I wouldn’t need it anymore now that the source of much of my depression had been resolved.
But between feeling overwhelmed by current events, and the first holiday season without my mother, it seems prudent to go back on for the time being.
Also good news: I now only have do two shorter sessions of aftercare daily. Still two hours a day, but less than half the time I’ve been spending the last three months.
Bad news: I don’t know if it’s the reduced pain killers, but aftercare is now a lot more uncomfortable. Heard mention on the patient support forum that some folks go through an additional round of scar contration.
Plus, I still don’t have much energy. Another three months to before I’ll (hopefully) feel 100 percent again.

After some ugly political events in New Zealand politics(nothing on the scale of the US but worrying nonetheless), this video of defense force personel from Auckland’s Diwali celebrations made me smile

Note the haka they are performing is one written specifically for the armed forces
Ohio Mom
@Sister Golden Bear: All I had was a breast loped off, and getting back all the way from that surgery took a good sixth months. It’s amazing that our bodies can knit themselves back together but it takes a long while. You will get through it.
On another note, it’s miserably grey, cold and wet here in southwestern Ohio. Very hard to get motivated to do anything. Maybe a third cup of caffeine will help.

Thanks for posting an open thread; if there’s any gamer who wants to talk Red Dead 2, I’m about 13% in the story mode and you can see why it took eight years to make, the detail and world-building is astounding…

@Ohio Mom:
Caffeine IV, stat!
I’m an Ohio mom, too. My husband and my youngest son and I voted this morning. We used paper ballots and I dropped mine right into the locked ballot box. I’m hoping it joins many other Democratic ballots in a safe, legal counting process.
The weather here in SW Ohio is also gloomy, wet, and cold. I like cool weather and autumn in general, but would appreciate a little sunshine, thankyouverymuch!

I think Leslie Jordan is one of the funniest people on the planet. I first saw him on Hearts Afire. That show had a fabulous cast, with John Ritter, Conchata Ferrell, and Billy Bob Thornton.
Ohio Mom
@donnah: Nice to meet another mom from the Buckeye State. I’m back from my errands, now sitting with a venti Starbucks. If this doesn’t work, I’m out of ideas.
Ohio Dad voted early today, he couldn’t stand the suspense of waiting any longer. There was no line, which is much different than when I voted early for Hillary. I waited in line for over an hour that Saturday.
I don’t know to be worried or not about the lack of a crowd. A while ago, The Board of Elections moved out of their cramped downtown location for a larger spread in Norwood (a small city, surrounded by the City of Cincinnati, about nine miles from downtown). Norwood isn’t as accessible as downtown; are people stymied by that? Or just waiting for the rain to clear?
