We’re so lucky each and every day to see and appreciate the world around us!

It is Friday, so thankfully we have otmar!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone, see you next week!
Today, pictures from valued commenter otmar.
I’m currently spending my yearly week in the Hague: attending two conferences and meeting a lot of people in my profession.
Given today’s (Oct 4th) news, it was a bit spooky that I walked past the OPWC building twice two days ago and had a few drinks in the lobby bar of the Marriott where the Russian spies had stayed.

Typical Dutch street in the Hague .
There was an evening reception in the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag.
This is a Strandbeest. I recommend you search for this word on YouTube to see how it walks in the wind.
Some more impressions from the Hague.
Thank you so much otmar, do send us more when you can.
Travel safely everybody, and do share some stories in the comments, even if you’re joining the conversation late. Many folks confide that they go back and read old threads, one reason these are available on the Quick Links menu.
Submissions should be sent via the all-new form at https://tools.balloon-juice.com

Actually, these are from last week.
I was late in submitting, thus the terse text.

@otmar: I always enjoy pictures of your travels. The wide sidewalks with ample space to park bicycles is something that American communities need to adopt. Thanks for submitting the pictures.

I am going to look up the beest to see how he moves.
You are so lucky to travel with your work. The Hague is is mentioned or featured in a lot of the novels I read and now I have a visual thank you.

@otmar: There was an exhibition of many Strandbeest at the Peabody Essex Museum a few years past, they were amazing to see in person, with accompanying videos.
ETA Thanks for the reminder!

I saw the Strandbeest exhibit at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. As Tenar Arha said, amazing.
