Just some images from the day:
An educated girl can lift up her family, her community, and her country. That’s why I’m so proud that today the @ObamaFoundation is launching the Global @GirlsAlliance in support of adolescent girls' education around the world.

Today is #InternationalDayOfTheGirl, and 2018’s theme is “With Her: A Skilled Girl Force.” To celebrate, @MichelleObama launched the #GlobalGirlsAlliance, highlighting roadblocks that prevent 98 million girls from attending school globally. Ah, there’s a short tail on that Y. However much I enjoy being Bohmian, I was unclear why being Slav was as important as Wonder, Resist, Rebel, Protect, etc. (let alone being a noun among verbs).
TaMara (HFG)
@scav: You’re not alone. I had to read it twice myself.
Jerzy Russian
Who is the character depicted in the “Imagine” poster?
Major Major Major Major
@scav: @TaMara (HFG): Buffy definitely fails the silhouette test.
Jerzy Russian
@Jerzy Russian: Anne of Green Gables?
Yutsano
@Jerzy Russian: I was thinking Pippi Longstocking. But Anne of Green Gables fits too.
FlyingToaster
@Jerzy Russian:
From the artist’s Etsy page:

@FlyingToaster: I thought Dora the Explorer somehow grew up! (but at least I beat 50% of references and I’m usually rubbish at them).
Nick
Take One: “Education s important! A real woman is anything she wants to be!”
Take Two: “Here are nine thin, attractive models for you to choose from.”
WaterGirl
That bears repeating. Thanks for pointing it out.
