    What it all comes down to: The Trump Admin is full of unethical, corrupt grifters and assholes. They’re generally not to be trusted, except when one of them has recordings or proof.

    And then apply that first statement (no one can trust them) and realize that domestically no one can afford to believe the White House on anything. Then realize it means we can’t ever negotiate with other countries either, for the exact same reason.

    Given the discussion of lying, I put in that I blogged about how readers crave truth, so the writer has to avoid cheating on people’s emotions and actions. Maybe that’s not what people crave after all? Or maybe not doing that is what makes books into crap.

    I saw that tweet about her being “physcally intimidating”…and even Chump’s tweets. Look, I cannot stand Omarosa…I would not likely throw water on her if she was on fire….but I can already tell that certain folks will cross a line into racist rhetoric and bigotted rhetoric when discussing Omarosa (on the left and the right, not just the nuthjobs), and I will feel the need to have to come to her defense and then I would be MAD AF!!!

    I’m just going to say that Omarosa is saying things we already knew to be true because we have eyes and ears BUT the media is acting A LOT different than they did in Sean Spicer interviews. #ImNotDefendingHer #Observations

    Anyway…I’m leave Omarosa and Chump to tear each other apart, I have other things on my mind right now.

    I have never met Aretha Franklin, have never seen her perform LIVE, and yet her music is like a soundtrack to my grandmother’s life. I spent a lot of time with my grandmother, so Aretha feels like my great aunt even though I’ve never met her. One of the last performances I recall seeing was her performing at the Kennedy Center Honors for Carol King. She sang Natural Woman…and of course…brought the house down!

    Once again, sending prayers up for her and her family.

    @lamh36: Yep. No question that Omarosa is being treated differently and the reporting around her is at best subtly racist. The “physically intimidating” thing as well as the “we’re paralyzed because she’s the only AA senior staffer!” were both eyebrow-raising.

As someone who regularly plenty and often has to deal with people in a work environment who treat me as if at any moment I will be trying to mug them in a hallway or like the black might get on them, fuck you, male colleague. I wouldn’t piss on Omarosa if she was on fire, but that is an all my life level of microaggression and damn if it isn’t also the excuse bigots make as to why we wind up dead when unarmed and not resisting. She better watch her back. This shit is levels of criminality above Trump’s usual, which was already dangerous plus she doesn’t have a community that will rally around her.

    👆🏻 THIS! Really, we’re supposed to believe that a Black woman automatically is physically intimidating but a known domestic abuser isn’t?

    If I could teach my fellow white people just one thing, it would be that their irrational fear of all Black and brown people is exactly that — irrational. Their racism leads them to see a threat where none exists, and that leads to a whole lot of bad things.

    Sean Spicer’s word is shit. Every appearance he makes on TV should make him feel like he’s getting a tonsillectomy by doctor going up the wrong way. Omarosa’s lies can’t be worse than Sean “Up is Down, Black is White, Night is Day” Spicer. And right now, maybe the spin she’s putting on some things isn’t quite right (or maybe it is, I don’t know), but she has tapes and she’s not saying anything outlandish in the context of Trump White House; it’s all plausible, while Sean continues to peddle obvious lies.

    She’s a horrible person, but I haven’t seen any evidence to suggest she’s anywhere near the worst or least trustworthy person who has ever worked in that White House.

    As a Black woman, I will give my opinion about Omarosa.
    Goes way back to her time on The Apprentice, and her sabotaging that qualified Brotha that made it to the finals. He took a chance on her, and she stabbed him in the back. That impression of Omarosa has never left. and, she has.done nothing to change my opinion of her.

    That said, watching this is hilarious.
    The only person in the White House who actually took Omarosa seriously is Dolt45. The rest of them didn’t grasp her.

    They are used to a certain type of Black person. You have the ones who want to.be deemed the special ones, and they parrot all the GOP talking points. They show up on Fox News. They will even form their lips to attack 44 and Forever FLOTUS 😍 😍.

    Their names-Crystal Wright, Stacey Dash, that slave catcher pastor that Joy Reid kicked off her show. Cubic and Zerconia. The latest one is Candace Owens.

    Then, you have the sort of old time GOPers who drank the Kool aid and want to be invited to the parties. This is the Armstrong Williams, Michael Steele, Ben Carson..

    And ,then there is Omarosa. She doesn’t have an allegiance to a political philosophy. She has an allegiance to Omarosa. For all her tv appearances, you didn’t see her out there trying to shill GOP swill.

    She was smart enough to keep 44 and Forever FLOTUS 😍 😍 out her mouth.

    For all the talk of distancing herself from the Black community…taping them was straight up.Black Professional Sensibilities.

    Omarosa did none of the heavy lifting of the other Black GOP Pundits, but wound up with the job in the White House-@doing Nothing.

    And, always had a Plan B in place.

    There is nothing that she’s saying that you don’t believe. Nothing that sounds outrageous.

    The MSM, especially those interested in writing their own.books which justifies their ‘access journalism’, are coming down on her because she is like Michael Wolff. She doesn’t give a shyt about the parties. She wants to GET PAID.

    We have a President that routinely goes around talking on unsecure phones, and I am supposed to give two shyts about Omarosa taping folks?

    I will be blunt:

    Why.is she on television in that very feminine Yellow dress?

    Cause, she knows that the first thing that can happen to a.Black woman to dehumanize her,.is to try and take away her femininity.

    Their is nothing about Omarosa that says masculine. She wears her hair perfectly coiffed, her makeup is flawless, and that dress was feminine, not professional, but feminine.

    OK, I had a gut rage reaction to the idea of recording in a SCIF because I’ve spent most of my professional life protecting information I was entrusted and I take security rules very very seriously. It bugs me when Republicans get away with crap I’d lose my job for. Not just that. “Classified” has a legal definition. It’s information that will DAMAGE YOUR M-F’ING COUNTRY, THE DEN WHERE YOU SLEEP, if released.

    But I’m now coming around to team O thanks to this thread. I’m glad she’s got tapes. In fact, I have been hoping and praying that somebody on our side is bugging Trump to the eyeballs, especially his “no Americans present” meetings with Putin and his ilk. So my gut rage reaction was contradictory. Go Omarosa! Hope you recorded every single meeting with those traitors, in high-definition 3-camera video! And have lots of backups.

  90. 90
    The Midnight Lurker says:

    It seems like everybody was recording everybody in this whole mess, so I wonder if anybody has tapes of Omarosa in her more candid moments? Get that popcorn poppin’.

    Jay says:

    @The Midnight Lurker:

    I can believe it. Prime seats to a sold out game or anticipated clash would be a good way to “grease” people for favours, and talking Inside Baseball would be a good way to connect to movers and shakers.

    Going into debt for that might, depending on the circles you are moving in, actually be a good investment.

    Paying it all off at once, is “problematic”.

    They had Omarosa on during the campaign and were none too pleased with her. Did anyone here listen today to hear what they had to say about her?

    Q: Think Trump should be impeached?

    @Ceci n est pas mon nym: Ah! Logic meets emotion. I too am ecstatic that the snakes are turning on each other, with tapes no less! And I too hope this all works to bring down the orange menace.
    BUT… your first instinct is the right one. Security protocols MUST BE ENFORCED! If she was secretly recording, with an unsecured phone, in a secure area, then she needs to be held responsible! If we keep letting people off the hook for felony types of behavior, the types of behavior that would get the rest of us sent to prison, just because they got something incriminating on the bad guy, then it opens the door to this type of behavior being condoned in the future.
    Another thing to consider, what if other countries ARE hacking her phone, God knows what she inadvertently passed on to our enemies.

  105. 105
    The Midnight Lurker says:

    And another thing… if Ms. Newman really wants to impress this white boy, then she should release all the tapes now! Not ‘shop’ them around to the media, searching for the ‘best deal’. Hell, what if FOX is the high bidder and they shelve them! She’s just using this “I got tapes!” thing to tantalize, push book sales, and keep her name in the papers. She’ll probably still be releasing tapes long after I’ve gone the way of the Dodo.
    And so what if she has that racist pig saying the ‘N’ word on tape? Like D.L. Hughley said on Maher the other night, that Trump is a racist asshole is going to come to a surprise to NO ONE. Tom Arnold and just about every stupid son-of-a-bitch that ever worked on the Apprentice has said the same thing. And Arnold keeps crowing about tapes too. If you really give a shit about America, release them, fuckhead!

    Ms. Newman has been riding on Trump’s coat tails for a long time now. She wrangled a cushy, high-paying job at the White House supposedly doing ‘community outreach’ (something I actually do). How’d that work out? She spent her time planning her wedding (on the tax payer dime), holding unauthorized wedding photo shoots at the White House, and God knows what else. She only turned on Trump AFTER (yes, I’m using caps cause I’m old and white) she got fired.
    This is the very same woman who said we would have to bow down before Trump. And we have her on tape.

  121. 121
    Ruckus says:

    @The Midnight Lurker:
    That’s all well and good, but that’s not how it works in this WH. This is Alice in Wonderland except everyone has the really, really good acid. Up is down, down is everywhere and the rule of law was thrown out the door on Jan 20, 2017. Right now those recordings are even better than the Nixon tapes, because shitgibbon doesn’t have them. I’m not suggesting that everyone take the law into their own hands but damn I think it’s good that someone did. Maybe they turn out to be nothing, but I’d bet they are far more than that. You and I would have told her not to do it. But I’m glad we didn’t get a chance to tell her that.
    You may not agree but she may be one of the smarter ones in the building. She has no love lost for the shitgibbon, she seems to have no love lost for anyone but herself. She is of course going to want something for the recordings but that’s hardly strange in this case. What if what it takes to bring this to a head is someone who has no allegiance but to themselves. That’s got to be better than an allegiance to the shitgibbon or the republican party.

  126. 126

    @Ruckus: Did you say ‘patriotic’? No, the ‘patriotic’ thing to do would be to release all the tapes immediately. The ‘patriotic’ thing would be to quit your fancy, high paying job the very second you saw criminal malfeasance in the White House, and report it.
    I’m not buying into the re-adjustment of our moral compass, just to accommodate a single person or a single purpose.

  127. 127

    @Jim, Foolish Literalist:

    Ms. Aretha is not good at lip syncing, which puts her in very good company. Meryl Streep, for one, can’t loop dialogue to save her life.

  129. 129
    The Midnight Lurker says:

    @Ruckus: If you start to tally up the crimes committed in this administration, I doubt Ms. Newman would even make the list. And yes, I too think she is probably one of the more, if not the most, intelligent, articulate, attractive people Trump hired. Look at Scott Pruitt or Besty DeVos. And it is clear that Ms. Newman is incredibly shrewd. But all she is doing is ‘building her brand.’ And in the final analysis, I don’t think much, if anything, that she is doing will make a whit’s worth of difference.

    @The Midnight Lurker: It’s enough for me that Newman is making Maggie Haberman superfluous. Seriously, it’s no coincidence that the people best positioned to effectively yank Trump’s chain are the show biz journos like Michael Wolff and reality show grifters like Newman, whose relationship with ethics is strictly transactional. I bet James Comey dreams he had a recording of his meetings with Trump.

  137. 137
    The Midnight Lurker says:

    @Barbara: Excellent point. But is it possible that after the smoke clears from this mess, that there were no heroes in this story? We keep rushing to laud these people. First is was Comey, then Michael Wolff, Stormy Daniels, Michael Avenatti, Michael Cohen, etc. This week it’s Newman and Strzok. Enough.

  138. 138
    Ruckus says:

    @The Midnight Lurker:
    It’s quite possible you are right it won’t mean a hill of beans. But…… And that’s a big, healthy, round, firm but, what if it does?
    I’d bet Mueller has tons on this crew, but as many have said how much of it can he use. IANAL and have no knowledge of the law here but what if these recordings can be used and back up the knowledge that he has but can’t use? Would that change your mind? I’m sure she is doing this for all the reasons everyone has said, including me, only for herself. Most people do most things for themselves and possibly a small group of friends family. That’s the way life works. Some do a lot more for people because they can, because it makes them feel good and because they were raised to believe in a selfless act is the best kind. But a good act doesn’t have to be selfless to be good. Hell she may do good in spite of all her intentions. It’s was an opportunity and she’s an opportunist.
    And that’s all I’m saying.

    I fucking hate James Comey and have since he was hired by Obama. He hasn’t done a god damned thing since to be any better, IMO. Michael Wolff is a star fucking opportunist. Strzok can go fuck himself as far as I am concerned.
