Just in case the Federalist scrote who ‘wins’ tonight’s SCOTUS pick has forgotten what it’s like to work for Donny Dollhands…
(Bloomberg) — The man who served as Donald Trump’s personal driver for more than 25 years sued him for back pay on Monday, saying he was forced to work thousands of hours of overtime that wasn’t paid. The suit was filed Monday by Noel Cintron in state court in Manhattan.

The wage bump in 2010 came with a catch, Cintron said in the lawsuit, per @ChristieSmythe. He was induced to surrender his health insurance, saving Trump about $17,866 per year in premiums.https://t.co/eJtNrT9f1a

…Filed in New York County Supreme Court against two of Trump’s business companies, the lawsuit alleges that Trump “shirked his obligation” to provide any overtime pay for more than 20 years. However, the legal action acknowledged that Cintron by law could only seek recovery of time-and-a-half pay for approximately 3,300 hours of uncompensated overtime during the past six years.
“In an utterly callous display of unwarranted privilege and entitlement and without even a minimal sense of noblesse oblige President Donald Trump has, through the defendant entities, exploited and denied significant wages to his own longstanding personal driver,” the lawsuit alleged.
In response, the Trump organization issued a statement that said: “Mr. Cintron was at all times paid generously and in accordance with the law. Once the facts come out we expect to be fully vindicated in court…
Of course, the eventual “Justice” will not technically be working for Trump and/or the Wingnut Wurlitzer, but let’s hope s/he (I’m betting ‘he’) is reminded that at the first sign of trouble, Lord Smallgloves will be screaming on Twitter that everything is That Guy’s fault.

Tell me Donald Trump’s driver doesn’t know some stuff.
This oughta be good.
PS Speaking of the SCOTUS pick, let’s not become inured to the fact that a prime-time reality-TV nominee announcement is yet more proof of Donald Trump’s obvious mental decline.
If they wanted spectacle, an 11:59 pm announcement that they’ve managed to put all the immigrant kids back with their parents would be suitably dramatic. As it is, can anyone explain why Nielsen and Azar shouldn’t be in jail Wednesday morning?

Easy way this guy can make back all that unpaid overtime, with no statute of limitations. Two words – book deal.

It isn’t wrong, but when you say it out loud you’re admitting that your big gun, truck, and crazy were just an act to win votes. Republican voters don’t want somebody who’s just acting like a gigantic asshole to win votes; they want somebody who’s actually that big of an asshole without prompting.

In fairness to the border agents, they pull the same retrograde bullshit on any parent who doesn’t share the same last name as their child regardless of skin color. Experienced travelers in that situation know to have documentation proving they really are the child’s parent or legal guardian handy. The State Department really ought to have some better solution, like having a way to include the parents’ passport numbers on the child’s passport so it’s easy to check.

Remember when the press went through the Obama finances with a microscope? How much pearl clutching were we subjected to because of some supposed special, lower interest rate of a couple hundredths of a percentage point?
Then there was the in depth shaming of Obama for something his pastor said when he wasn’t even there. I might add that plenty of the outraged pundits were long standing Catholics who didn’t leave their pews in protest when they found out priests had been sexually assaulting and raping young children with the church covering for them.
But the candidate with plenty of scandals readily searchable in the public domain had next to know vetting before the election.

Limo driver was probably salaried and thus not eligible for OT. That’s what I assume the defense will be, though I’m not a lawyer.

Also, once you are on the Supreme Court, you are literally set for life, and it doesn’t matter how much outside parties, from Presidents to commoners such as us, scream at you.

I suspect that, now that Michael Avenatti has shown that Trump’s NDAs probably aren’t worth the paper they’re written on, a lot of his ex-employees are going to start challenging them. ?
Roger Moore
@gene108:
That will be their argument, but it’s a loser. You can’t just decide somebody should be on salary rather than hourly because you don’t want to pay them overtime. There are legal standards for what kinds of work are eligible for a salary, where the basic upshot is that salaried work is supposed to be for jobs that demand a high degree of independence, creativity, and/or managerial responsibility. Driving a limo would not qualify.

You know who else did this “bump up the work they need to do without resetting their pay” scam??
Don Blankenship, home-grown WV billionaire did exactly this to his housekeeper. After he built a second mansion in Kentucky, the woman who was lucky enough to have work cleaning his WV mansion was assigned to also have to keep the new mansion clean.
OK, this makes sense, in a way, Don was comfortable with her. But he didn’t offer to pay her a nickel for doubling her work load!!!
She finally sued him for back pay. I forget how that turned out, but it shows again what a piece of rat shit Don Blankenship is… if killing 29 mine employees at Upper Big Branch didn’t already show us that.
