From eyewitness Casey L:
BJ’s Seattle Chapter had a lovely meetup at Korean Bamboo, and here are a couple photos to prove it.
The usual suspects were there (from left to right):
H. E. Wolf
Yutsano
Bumper
Lurker
Mike J
CaseyL (moi)Plus of course the Official BJ Sign, giving our gathering the benediction of St. Tunch!
CaseyL
Thanks, Ann!

Everyone looks so nice!

@zhena gogolia:
I know! Weird, eh?
Baud
Impressive.
West of the Rockies (been a while)
I’m jealous… looks like a fun group of jackals.
Rosalita
Always awesome to see the Juicers behind the aliases!
Baud
If TV shows have taught me anything, it’s that bad guys will be able to enhance this photo and steal your credit card information.
jharp
You are all better looking and more youthful than I’d have thought.
Seems that as I age everyone looks young and is good looking. Anyone else notice that?
Spanky
@jharp: No, it’s just you.
Spanky
Should we ask how you brought down a light fixture onto the table?
Yutsano
@Spanky: The lantern was brought by CaseyL. There’s a story behind it but I’ll let her tell it.
Ben Cisco
Nice shot. Looks like a good time was had by all.
West of the Rockies (been a while)
A thought for Green-not-Green… wasn’t it about a year ago she left us?
rikyrah
Good looking group
schrodingers_cat
Back from the Easter Brunch, eat too much dessert, time to take a nap now. And its still too cold.
trollhattan
Taking Tunch to dinner is a brilliant touch. Good work, y’all.
Brooklyn Dodger
According to the timestamp on the photo, you guys are hailing us from the past – or do I need better glasses – or wait, maybe we have the past 5 years as a do-over! Yes, please I’ll take it!
ed. Nope, just needed to zoom in more.
satby
@West of the Rockies (been a while): yes, about a year ago. Isn’t it odd to miss someone you only knew in cyberspace? But then, I still miss General Stuck.
Gone, but not forgotten.
satby
@trollhattan: I thought that was a great idea too!
Nice looking group, glad you all had fun. And that Yutsano was at the right place ?
zhena gogolia
@Baud:
As they enlarge it, it will get more sharply defined.
zhena gogolia
@satby:
Me too.
Ben Cisco
Nice shot. Looks like a great time was had by all.
satby
@zhena gogolia: I just cried my way through that whole thread again. The same day as Tunch leaving us. What a horrible day.
Edit: and yet, it confirmed what a great community of jackals this is, which shows in all the meet-ups like the pictures above.
stinger
Whole lotta slavering going on!
It makes me extra happy to see meetup pix now that I’ve actually been to one myself!
opiejeanne
@satby: I lost an online friend the same week we lost Green-Not-green and it just feels like someone is missing who should be here.
Her mother maintains her Facebook page and when we find terrible puns and jokes some of us still post them to her.
She taught at a Lutheran school and belonged to that far right Lutheran sect, but she was a liberal Democrat. She was just 40, far too young.
opiejeanne
@CaseyL: I am so sorry we couldn’t make it yesterday.
I am now ready for guests and this is the dessert I produced late last night:
Almond Tart
BillinGlendaleCA
@zhena gogolia:
Uh huh.
MomSense
Look at those beautiful juicers and Tunch. Glad you had a good time.
Sab
@West of the Rockies (been a while): Has it been that long? Best wishes for her family, who seemed to be as lovely as she was.
Mnemosyne
Since the thread is going this way anyway, my BFF’s elderly mom died earlier today. She was a very devout lifelong Catholic, so I can’t help thinking that she would have found passing on Easter Sunday to be quite appropriate.
RedDirtGirl
So nice to see BJ faces.

@satby:
Thanks for the link. I didn’t feel that I knew Gen. Stuck before his untimely death, but I was interested enough to read the obit, the BJ comments, see Charlie his dog, etc. We probably had a lot in common, environmental work, liberal unionism politics, etc. We would have disagreed about Israel, which under Bibi and his fellow fascists is doing terribly there alone in the mid-east.
Maybe Major^4 and or Alain could whip up a search tool that helps people find threads with select commenters in them, with a date range too maybe. That would be a good thing. Or just a date range thread access tool, even. I know Google does lots of that, but my Google Fu isn’t what it used to be. SQL was a long long time ago!
CaseyL
@Spanky: The lantern is from an Autumn Equinox Celebration and Parade at Greenlake last year. People dress up in illuminated costumes, dress their dogs in illuminated costumes, bring or buy lanterns, and we all walk around the lake in the dark, the only lights being what we carry and/or wear. A good few hundred turn out!
Ever since then, I’ve used the lantern at BJ meetups so people know which table we’re at :)

@satby:
And now I found the hummingbird pictures, what an education !!! Thanks, Stuck!
Wherever you are!
And thank you too Satby, for that first link.
SgrAstar
What darling people! I’d love to go to a meetup someday.

@satby: Thank you for reprising that thread. Quoting the General on Republican thought
A master, indeed.

@Mnemosyne: Condolences to you and your friend’s family Mnem!
