NEW RECORD. Donald Trump made *40* false claims last week, the most of his presidency: https://t.co/wVeIljTQud
— Daniel Dale (@ddale8) October 3, 2017
U.S. President Donald Trump set a new personal record for most false claims in a week. And it was partly because he couldn’t stop repeating a made-up story about a senator being “in the hospital.”…
It turned out that he was talking about Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran, who was at home recovering from a urological issue — and very much did not want the president to falsely tell the world that he was in the hospital…
Trump also made multiple inaccurate statements about the hurricane disaster in Puerto Rico, about his tax reform plan, and about the National Football League. All together, he has now made 653 false claims over 256 days in office — an average of 2.6 false claims per day.
Trump has proven uniquely willing to lie, exaggerate and mislead. By all expert accounts, he is more frequently inaccurate than any of his predecessors…

The president of the United States has blocked me on Twitter pic.twitter.com/l1L2ElYAOB
— Daniel Dale (@ddale8) October 3, 2017
Correct me if I am wrong, but blocking Dale on Twitter won’t keep him from seeing Trump’s posts. Dale can go to twitter.com, type in @realdonaldtrump, and the whole timeline will unfold before him. (Heck, I can see them, and I’m not even on Twitter.)
But it means that Trump won’t see Dale’s tweets any more. Like an old dumb dog who doesn’t want to be yelled at for soiling the rug, so he hides his head under a blanket and assumes you won’t see his flabby yellow butt sticking out…
At least Trump hasn’t yet declared war on Canada, either because nobody’s told him Toronto is not part of the United States, or because he can’t find it on his ‘who should I insult next’ map.

The press, branded the 'enemy' by Trump, increasingly trusted by the public: Reuters/Ipsos poll https://t.co/GAQIzJTsEI
— Reuters Top News (@Reuters) October 3, 2017
Americans are increasingly confident in the news media and less so in President Donald Trump’s administration after a tumultuous year in U.S. politics that tested the public’s trust in both institutions, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released on Tuesday.
The poll of more than 14,300 people found that the percentage of adults who said they had a “great deal” or “some” confidence in the press rose to 48 percent in September from 39 percent last November. Earlier this year, Trump branded the entire industry as the “enemy of the American people.”
The percentage of those who said they had “hardly any” confidence in the press dropped to 45 percent from 51 percent over the same period.
Confidence in Trump’s administration moved in the opposite direction…

Regarding PR – people are just being too negative and hard on Trump. He’s graciously donated the President’s Cup Golf Trophy, which can be used to bail water out of flooded areas and several rolls of paper towels to help mop up. I understand he’s also going to donate the table scraps from all the meals he and his aides consume while on the island in order to help feed the hungry.
bemused
Cringing, groaning, swearing while watching clips of Demented45 visit to Puerto Rico, in less than an hour there, he met my expectations he’d act like he always does when confronted with criticism and not abject idolization. Punish, punish, punish any naysayers with condescension, intimidation and taunts. Throwing rolls of paper towels to Puerto Ricans like they were animals was horrific enough. Even how he threw the rolls with a flip of his small hands reeked with contempt and malice.

Okay, folks, today’s the day. Time for the Presidenting 101 final. The test has one and only one question. Can Trump make it through his ‘consoler-in-chief’ visit to Las Vegas WITHOUT mentioning (plugging) his own Las Vegas property? Smart money says no…

NJ-5 flipped in 2016 because the incumbent Republican came out as too socially conservative.
Basically, voting to fuck over NJ, CA, and NY tax payers could be enough to shift the balance in the House. There are enough Republicans in those delegations to flip the House should they lose re-election in 2018.

Republicans are phony federalists and now that they dominate the federal government they’ll be pushing their garbage down state level- the Sec of State of Kansas thinks he runs immigration and they’re fucking with state taxes, so beef up state legislatures.
I don’t care what your issue is- crim justice, education, voting, health care, 95% of the action and import is at the STATE level.
If you’re worried about Jeff Sessions and crim justice then remember that 95% of it is STATE law. Pundits focus on federal all out of proportion to reality. Jeff Sessions can’t even reach 95% of prosecutions and incarceration.

I understand your cynicism.
The folks that I’m talking about aren’t the Baby Jesus crowd.
They moved to these suburbs for ‘ way of life’. For schools.
ALL made possible by the taxes. These taxes are their bottom line. Taking away that deduction is HUGE. HUGE.
The GOP controls all levers of government. There’s nobody to hide behind. They didn’t get TRUMPCARE, so they have to do their sociopathy out in the open.
These are the people who have accountants. Or know accountants. You don’t think that the whispering has already started about what the lack of state and local tax deductions will do their bottom line?
And, the only thing that they can explain is that the Koch Brothers will get a tax cut and somehow it will get back to them – which they know is bullshyt.
The path is direct now. They have nobody to hide behind.

If they couldn’t pass Obamacare repeal, I don’t see how they eliminate these deductions. They might pass tax cuts, but not that way.

It always amazes me how CHEAP they are to buy. This was going on in 2012, while Trump was launching his birther campaign.
I hate all the people who protected this sleazy family as they rose to power. They’re ALL complicit.

@Kay: I don’t know about other states, but here in NM there’s a HIGH level of consciousness about the importance of local and state races. We’re gearing up now for 2018 (and hoping that a noisy claque of Sandernistas doesn’t derail us).

Add Illinois into that mix too. Any of the top 10 states that this would affect – all of them have GOP representatives.

Out-of-state? Hey Nevada: you know how most of your state is mines, whorehouses, and scrabbly ranches? That’s going to be your entire economy if the “out-of-state” people get too scared to go to Vegas.

Perhaps. But were they REALLY cool, they would have jumped to 42, not 16.

Sometimes the rednecks modify their large trucks so that a lot of black smoke can be emitted on demand. As I understand it, these modifications are not cheap. When they are driving down the road and see a Prius, then can summon a large cloud of thick, black smoke. Sounds dumb and juvenile, but that is where we are at this point.

Greedy would be wanting more than their share. Whatever is at least two steps worse than fucking greedy is what they are. They want it all.
