I’ve been traveling the past few weeks, but I’m back and I want to keep raising money for the midterm elections.
You can donate here to every Democratic nominee for the House who runs against a Republican incumbent.
You can donate here to the guy running against Paul Ryan (Randy Bryce).
Fred Fnord
You know what I want.
rikyrah
thanks for keeping this going

Lefties started hating Bryce almost as soon as he caught on. Convenient, that. Here’s a month-old piece from Paste about how he “turn[s] out to be just another Democrat.”
It hasn’t aged well:
Hate these fuckers!
schrodingers_cat
@Major Major Major Major: I wonder how many on the professional purity left are buddies with Putinski.

Thanks for bringing this back. I have a tab open for this thermometer and check it occasionally. It would be great if it were a semi-permanent fixture in the right column, also too.
Not to immediately go OT, but there are important local and state elections coming up this fall, also too.
Crowdpac – Unite to Flip Virginia – and the Nation is raising funds for this fall’s House of Delegates races. Ossoff raised $23+M for his House race. Numbers like that would make a huge difference in Virginia’s legislature, and likely in many other places as well. ;-) We can’t neglect races just because they aren’t for federal seats. State races will decide the 2020 Redistricting and other issues that will set the path for the country in the next decade. It’s very important.
Eyes on the prize.
Cheers,
Scott.

Donate in Sean Spicer’s name, since he showed some backbone and quit.

@Major Major Major Major: “Paste: It’s What We Eat”
Though it’s not like I expected better from the site that employs Shane Ryan and Walter Bragman.
dmsilev
@JPL: Probably more of a sense of self-preservation than backbone.
Face
Spicer is gone-zo.
bluehill
@JPL: I’m guessing it wasn’t voluntary. The new guy, Scaramucci, is a finance guy and pretty smooth and quick on his feet IMO. Upgrade at this position. I view this move as being on par with when Conway came in. Unfortunately, the same BS but peddled more persuasively.

@Butthurt Jordan Trombone (fka XTPD):
Heh, I’ll have to remember that one.

Spicer was embarrassed in Rome, and yet he persisted
Another Scott
@JPL: Interesting.
But he’s been a dead man walking for weeks/months. He was going to be gone soon, one way or another. (I’m reminded of Milton’s treatment in Office Space.)
Cheers,
Scott.
Miss Bianca
@Another Scott: Man, we could only hope that Spicer resorts to some sort of variattion on Milton’s reaction to his mistreatment…altho’ I think I’d go for a metaphorical burning-down, rather than an actual…

Lyin’ Ryan now claims the CBO’s RyanCare assessment is “bogus” because all he wants to do is free America from the slavery of Obamacare. The man could end up killing more than Irony.

Ha!
SatanicPanic
@Major Major Major Major:
So he likes the guy’s stances, but he’s mad he talks about Russia too much? Jesus Christ.
eemom
OT: You’ve no doubt thought of this already, but you just GOTTA do a Queen-titled thread on the new WH “Communications Director”….
Major Major Major Major
@SatanicPanic: A little more than mad, he seems to think it will derail his entire candidacy. Which…
…will kind of only happen if people like the author do it.
SatanicPanic
@Major Major Major Major: So, basically, he’s getting what he wants, but because this guy associates talking about Russia with Democrats, that’s bad? I’m just trying to wrap my head around his reasoning here. It’s like saying “this burger sucks because the waiter is wearing red shoes”.
Major Major Major Major
@SatanicPanic: Well, when a big piece of your entire ideology is that for-profit organizations like restaurants are automatically suspect, any burger is going to have some significant flaws, and also you’re a vegetarian, why do they keep giving you burgers, middle america is crying out for vegetarianism, why aren’t there better vegetarian offerings.
Raoul
Total hail mary, but a friend of mine just recently announced for IL-15. I hope some folks will put in a little bump for that race’s nominee fund (or give to his primary campaign, also at ActBlue, Kevin Gaither). 22 year incumbent, probably not vulnerable, but I believe that if a race has a Dem challenger, it’s not insane to fund it at least a little so that a countervailing message can get out. BTW the unemployment rate in this consistently GOP district is a freakin’ 9.4% (and it’s a 92% white district).
We should not cede the contest of ideas field even if the Cook Report number is heavily against (eeep, R +21).
Also, too, I think we need to be telling folks about the grassroots funding work being done to skirt the (sometimes) bullshit of DNC, DCCC, etc establishment:
WaterGirl
@Raoul: i am in IL-13 and we have the awful Rodney Davis. Hope your guy gets some traction. I say we run someone everywhere, regardless of anything.
We have never been in this particular crazy situation before in this country, and who knows what will happen.
DougJ
@Raoul:
Good for your friend. Is anyone else running as a Dem?
