On the Road is a weekday feature spotlighting reader photo submissions.
From the exotic to the familiar, whether you’re traveling or in your own backyard, we would love to see the world through your eyes.
Alain asked me to schedule a post for him. He has asked me to inform you all that he is experiencing technical issues and, as a result, today’s On the Road post will not be happening as normally scheduled. Please consider this an open thread while he waits for someone at tech support to answer his ticket/request.

Here’s a taste of some of the material I’ve kicked in to Alain from my Australia trip in May.
This was a beautiful lunch stop in the Daintree rainforest by Cape Tribulation in northern Queensland.

@OzarkHillbilly: Did you see my reply to your post about you making a jackass out of yourself with your aunt?
Waratah
@Le Comte de Monte Cristo, fka Edmund Dantes: Thank you. That bush is awesome. My cousins and I made the regular Australian bush surrounding my uncles farm our play ground and ran around in it barefoot.

@Le Comte de Monte Cristo, fka Edmund Dantes: fantastic! Now I want to ride in a helicopter too.

@Waratah:
We stayed at Silky Oaks Lodge, about a half dozen kilometers north of Mossman for that segment of the trip. It was fantastic. We’d rented a car at Cairns and drove north, adventures all about (there was only some shouting about my driving wrong side of the car, wrong side of the road).
Took all sorts of little side trips – went as far north as you could go with a serious 4WD, saw cane toad races in Port Douglas…

Sorry about that folks,I triggered the security stuff and was blacklisted until support re-authorized me. All better now, lots of pics this week so stay tuned!

When I was a boy growing up in Alabama, in the mid-fifties, when there was one of the frequent interruptions in transmission of a program, one network had a great crude line drawing they put up of a a squirrel chomping thru a big cable. I sill remember that drawing. I wish I could find it. I have searched the Internet more than once hoping someone had a copy and had put it on the Web, but to no avail.
Ah. What innocent days those were, compared to where we are now.

@Le Comte de Monte Cristo, fka Edmund Dantes:
Make that “without” a serious 4WD…

But we were Promised Poco!
And then Ozarkhillbilly would tell Quinerly she sucked. . .
WaterGirl
@HeartlandLiberal: I’ve seen Steeplejack find some amazing things that others weren’t able to find. You might think of asking him about it sometime. The Google Fu is strong in that one.

@Laura:
