Ted Nugent once said Obama should ‘suck on my machine gun.’ Now he wants to tone down the ‘hateful rhetoric’ https://t.co/5v4bRuqlw8
— Mike Walker (@New_Narrative) June 17, 2017
He also called Hillary Clinton a "toxic cunt" and said it would've been best if the South had won the Civil War. https://t.co/D0hXSO54Sk
— Jennifer Hayden (@Scout_Finch) June 18, 2017
Looking on the bright side, if Ted ‘Pantload’ Nugent is edging away from “hateful rhetoric”, that’s one more indicator that the right-wing media fevers may have reached a point where, having burned through all susceptible victims, it’s no longer profitable for a D-lister like Nugent to make a noisy public display of his ammosexuality.
But you can count on the lower ranks of wingnut welfare recipients to keep singing from the same old hymnbook…
Screw talks of 'bipartisanship.' This country is at war with itself. Choose your side and choose it now. Grab your musket and get ready.

Also, if Joe Walsh picks up a musket, you're reasonably safe @ 100 yds with only minor scares every 30 seconds. so there's that.

Odd that the Nuge is being less of an asshat than Jenner, given that the latter at least has/recently had some of a career.

@Butthurt Jordan Trombone (fka XTPD): Jenner is in the running for The Worst.
I got embroiled in a debate with a jackass contractor I work with about being transgender, and he just looooooved bringing up Caitlyn Jenner. It made me feel gross to defend her, as I think she’s awful and I wish she would go away. I wholeheartedly support her right to identify however she chooses, but everything and everyone in the Kardashian orbit is awful.

While heaven knows we have a plague of violent rhetoric specifically of the kind to incite extremist action, I’m pretty confident ‘grab your musket’ is metaphorical, and not even metaphorical for grabbing a different kind of gun. If he meant violence, even a violent fantasy, he wouldn’t have used such a goofy, antiquated weapon!

So the saga continues…
Some of you may remember that mrs efg’s sister was shot and killed by her murdering bastard of a POSSLQ. He has been held without bail in VT since February 2016.
You might also recall that the DA told us in May that they are offering a plea bargain: plead to murder 2, 25 years in state prison. Since the case really is a slam dunk, we assumed he and his lawyer would take it.
However, his harridan of a mother is the one paying for the attorney. She has always run his life even when they lived hundreds of miles apart. So he has demanded a jury trial. Pretrial conference is July 19, Jury selection begins July 29.
Now, in the intervening months, we have found more details.
When it happened, he called his mother FIRST, then called 911. The medical examiner reports that she was shot once, in the upper lung. If the asshole had called 911 first, she likely would have survived. By the time he did, she bled out.
Now, it’s always possible that a jury won’t convict. Parts of Vermont are a gun humper state.
BUT: If they acquit, Federal marshalls will be waiting for him in the courtroom. The US attorney has filed a number of weapons charges, the most serious of which is they found a .45 caliber submachine gun – an actual, full automatic Tommy gun, in working order – when they searched the house. The serial number was filed, which is a major charge. Illegal possession, illegal transportation across state lines, illegal purchase – and that’s just for the one weapon. Other modified and filed weapons found too.
If anything, the federal charges are more of a slam dunk than the state charges. The bastard is going to spend most or all of the rest of his miserable life in prison.
Wish his mother could go on trial, too. Doesn’t work that way.

It’s because they’re cowards. They suddenly got a reminder that a civil war means people on their side will die too. Those idiots thought the shootings and beatings would be inflicted by their side only. Scalise, and to a lesser extent Spencer’s punching + “bash the fash”, was a huge wake up call to people like Nugent. He clearly saw himself becoming a target after all the shit he’s said. He did what Republicans always do when they finally have to face the consequences of pretending they’re badasses.

ArchTerix, who’s nym I am probably mangling the speling of (sic) made what I think is the best point about the Senate’s super secret health care bill passage (or not).
It will, as described, be a genocidal crime, deliberately composed to kill people of a specific variety, by the millions, of various horrible deaths. From mundane illnesses like a heart attack, or untreated diabetes resulting in slow death by amputation of your extremities, to more exquisite deaths by Crohn’s Disease, or glioblastoma or cancer that could have been treated if diagnosed, but without health care can’t even be treated.
And the people who die. slowly, miserably, will be people who tend to vote Democratic more often than not. People not at the top income brackets, people who didn’t vote for Major Trumpet. People who are darker in complexion or more recently arrived to US citizenship, people not like those voting for the bill.
People like the people who were sent to camps from 1938 to 1945 in Europe, to die faster than the people who will die in the near future. A Republican genocide, rather than a German Nazi genocide. Taking health care away from a carefully designed segment of a population, isn’t that like racially based gerrymandering, kind of? Let those people die, inexpensively, they don’t vote for us anyway.
Now I’m beginning to believe the real crime may be allowing this travesty of politics to continue, rather than attacking the criminals before they can complete their crime.

Sorry to sound cynical, but unless his trend for not inciting political violence continues after Republicans lose a house in the legislature, or the Presidency, I’m not assuming it’s anything but tactical for two reasons.
First and foremost, right wing republicans lie. They also lie twice as hard to anyone who is not their tribe. Currently I see this as a tactical move to de-legitimize the anger of anyone not their tribe.
Second, forgiving too soon often leads to enabling bad behavior in adults. I’ve discovered through brutal personal experience that with people who push boundaries forgiving too soon is a bad idea. They take it as a sign that the boundary was not really that big a deal and that’s it’s a reasonable risk to go for the next one. If they really want forgiveness they are going to have to pay some serious dues to get back in my good graces.

I hope mrs. efg and her mom are mentally prepared to have their loved one dragged through the mud at the trial. Unless his lawyer tries to go for a claim that it was an accident, the only other rational defense would probably be to claim that your sister in law was the abuser, and the guy’s mom seems like a big enough asshole to push for that defense if it might save her murderous babykins from prison.

Anyway, most of what I’ve read from fine media outlets like Us magazine is that Kanye’s mom was the one who kept him in check and directed his career, so when she died, he was rudderless and got hooked by the Kardashians.
I also remember hearing a rumor that he has bipolar disorder, but I don’t know if he’s ever confirmed it. He was admitted to UCLA Neuropsychiatric last year, which locals here can tell you is a lock-down psychiatric ward that they only send you to if you’re seriously ill. I’ve got nothing against Ossoff, but like Hillary, he is a terrible campaigner and candidate. Unless the Democrats suddenly wake up and start running adds that are effective for THAT district, I think he’s going to lose badly, way outside polling. Um, I actually live in this state near his district and word on the street here is that John Ossoff is scaring the ever living shit out of our good ol boy Republicans here. For someone thats such a bad campaigner as you put it, he’s either dead even or pulling away from Georgia’s former Secretary of State. The fact that the GOP is gloating about the shooting and running shameless ads trying to tie Ossoff to the Alexandria shooting tells me the GOP here doesn’t think they are sitting as pretty as they once were. Lets remember, this district has been a GOP district since Richard Nixon was in office, so for a 30 year old to be in this position in this state is nothing short of a miracle.
I’ll also say that this is probably the first time we’ve seen a seat anywhere not in a majority black district that has been put in play in a long while. Guys like Roy Barnes, Jim Martin, Mark Taylor and the infamous Zell Miller would of course be considered Republicans in states like Minnesota, so I don’t know where “running like Al Franken” came from. Those were true blue conservative Democrats, and the first three all lost elections by a range of 10 to 15 points. I don’t know why you’re so cynical about if Jon Ossoff loses, because even if he does, the Democrats in this state probably can learn a couple of things from it. If we can do this in an off year election, then we can do this next year.
