I have to have my machine to drown out Lil Bit.
Manyakitty
Ha! I could barely hear that over the extremely loud purring from the nyminal Manya, who has taken up residence on my chest.
TaMara (HFG)
Bummer, I’ve got Thurston and Rosie NOT playing. Not kitteh snoring. Anyone else?
geg6
Lovey snores like a champ. It’s gotten so bad, I wake up if I don’t hear her snoring at night.
She kills me. She eats so delicately and prissily. But the rest of life she acts like a longshoreman. Nothing delicate or prissy about anything else.
karen marie
Yeah, I got no kitty snoring at all. “Just” a repeat of Thurston being cute as a button. Hey, that’s okay – it means we get a make-up video.
geg6
@TaMara (HFG):
Yeah I got that, too. But just figured it was Cole’s natural ineptness at some things that explained it.
eclare
@TaMara (HFG): Same here!
Gvg
I get a blank white spot, no video. Odd.
geg6
Someone should send Cole a strongly worded email to fix the damn video. In all caps, just to be sure. He loves those.
Mary G
I can’t hear a thing but Thurston.
Adam L Silverman
@TaMara (HFG): Same thing. That angry yip noise woke up Ruby who was snoring.
Major Major Major Major
@eclare: That would explain it.
TaMara (HFG)
@Adam L Silverman: Gawd, I WISH mine were sleeping.
Bill E Pilgrim
That dog’s voice is exactly the way I imagined it would sound. The one saying “For fuck’s sake!”
Edit: Wait, it’s a different video now?
These are just going to change every five minutes, aren’t they. That could be fun.
MomSense
It’s not kitty snoring but it is still really cute. Thurston’s little bark is so sweet.
Adam L Silverman
@TaMara (HFG): Mine were sleeping. I’m now being assaulted by dog tails. They want attention. Going to have to move away from the keyboard as I’ve got two different doggie bellies to attend to!
Omnes Omnibus
I really am a dog person. I preferred the first video.
Bill E Pilgrim
@Omnes Omnibus: I did too, that was great.
Gelfling 545
Goodness! He snores as loudly as my pug. That’s quite an accomplishment.
khead
Very adorable kitteh.
debit
I love the little wheezing noises. Luther used to snore just like that. Walter doesn’t snore, but he does dream really fast.
TaMara (HFG)
Yay, fixed. Adorable monster cat snoring.
donnah
Hee hee! Love the snores. Our longhair cat Fiona snores, squeaks, and has a growly stomach when she sleeps. Our gray cat Gracie is quite silent, though. And our little boy cat also sleeps without extra sounds.
Elizabelle
Proof of life. Noisy little life.
Elizabelle
@debit: Walter! Happy pup.
Bill E Pilgrim
White noise is a good description of a Donald Trump rally.
Larkspur
@Gelfling 545: I dog sit for two pugs from time to time and I swear they could successfully audition to provide the soundtrack to “The Walking Dead”. It’s awesome and yet endearing.
Mary G
@debit: Walter YouTube channel! Has Walter and Ellie getting treats! Walter looks so good! SQQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
ETA: Love the dreaming of running, my cat does that too.
Gelfling 545
@Larkspur: It can be oddly comforting.

@efgoldman: So far this evening, Bailey has drank my coffee, taken a book off the shelf and chewed it. I’m beginning to think she was raised in a Barnes and Noble.

@debit:
I’m so glad Walter has a cushy bed in a home where he is loved. Even his tail looks relaxed.
Omnes Omnibus
@TaMara (HFG): What book?
fuckwit
I have a cat question.
I have recently acquired two kittens, 6 mos old. Both male, but one of them will “nurse” on the other. He insists on it. His brother seems to like it (purrs a lot).
What is up with that?
Just got them both fixed. The nursing thing hasn’t stopped.
Emerald
@debit: Oh what great Walter videos! Hadn’t seen the treats and squirrel ones!
Walter landed in doggie heaven, after all his trials.
JJ
Hahaha thank you
TaMara (HFG)
@debit: Everything about Walter, John and you makes my day better.
Another Scott
@fuckwit: Our previous dog, Colleen, would kinda “nurse” on her stuff animal toys – she’d stuff them in her mouth and slobber/bite on them for minutes at a time. She did it when she was bored/nervous/anxious.
I assume your kitten misses his mom.
I assume it’s no big deal, but the other kitten might get tired of it eventually.
Maybe try distracting him with play of some sort?
HTH a little.
Cheers,
Scott.

@Mary G: I was looking at some pics when he first arrived and his coat is so much better. There are clip marks the vet left for me for Walter’s injections and within a week they’d already started filling in. If I had to guess, I’d say that now that his body isn’t in survival mode it can expend some energy for hair growth.
@Steeplejack (tablet): There are pet beds all over the house but I swear half the time he sacks out on the floor.
?BillinGlendaleCA
@Baud: My 12 pound YorkiPom belches really loud after eating. I give the the girls treats before bed and she waits until she’s on the bed and right in my face before letting the belch out.
khead
@fuckwit:
Separated from Mom too soon. Just make sure to pull them apart.
debit
@fuckwit: I would guess they were taken away from their mother too early. I had a cat that “nursed” on a terry cloth bathrobe of mine and he was an adult. If the other cat doesn’t mind maybe it’s comforting to him as well.
Mary G
@debit: Yes, in the treat video I wasn’t sure which one was Walter, they both looked so bright eyed and bushy tailed. Then he opened his mouth and I saw the “teefuses” and recognized him. You’ve done a great job rehabilitating him.
Teddy' Person
@debit: It makes my heart happy to see Walter on his beautiful cushy bed!!
debit
@Mary G: Thanks, but I’m just continuing what John started. No false modesty here, but John really started him off on the right foot and that made it easy for me to take over.
Mnemosyne
My cats could tell that was a cat snoring, because they all came to an alert to look for it. I don’t get that reaction very often.
redshirt
Any other fan addicts in the house?
Mary G
Mnem or another Hamilfan probably already posted this, but I hadn’t seen it. Sara Bareilles wrote a song called “Seriously” about what President Obama might say about the current election if he could speak his mind and Leslie Odum, Jr. sang a jazzy version for “This American Life.”

@debit: That was awesome, too. What a happy boy, dreaming his animal dreams.

I wouldn’t bet the price of a happy hour bud light draft on it, but…
WaterGirl
@Jim, Foolish Literalist: Well, I wouldn’t drink your bud light draft, either! :-)

@Bill E Pilgrim: Thread won.

So if anyone has been watching this season of “American Horror Story,” it turns out that one of the nice romance-novel-writing old ladies in my RWA group is the one who plays the Butcher this season. She’s trying to figure out how to parlay this into more acting work.
WaterGirl
@Mnemosyne: OT, but did you see my earlier comment on another thread about seeing 3 new christmas tree lines this year? In addition to the Douglas Fir something-something and all the other trees you can imagine, there was a Hamilton something-something, a Jefferson something-something and a Washington something-something.
I laughed out loud and thought of you.
Mnemosyne
@WaterGirl:
I’m not surprised — everyone loves to name things after the Founding Fathers. I would be surprised if they were actually new. Now, if they’d added a Burr-model tree …
When G was arranging his father’s funeral and burial a few years ago, they ended up getting the Monticello vault for his grave, which was a weird coincidence because, like Jefferson and Adams, G’s father died on the fourth of July.

That’s a beautiful look at Walter’s eyes in the treat video. M e l t.
Inspired by Walter dreaming, I tried to find a clip of John Lithgow on 3rd Rock dreaming like a dog, but failed. It’s short and so good.
From the same episode of dreams: Life Has Been Good to Me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIa2QOTyJGw

Bad word? Break it up so FYWP doesn’t “recognize” it, e.g.:

All this too hard? Get used to moderation. Deep breaths.
