tax or draft? cause the GOP got both in one convenient package.

Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers. My Dad was a Dodger fan, growing up in Queens and seeing them at Ebbets Field. I followed in his footsteps for awhile … So Cal and Chavez Ravine, though.

Remember the 1969 Mets !
Wikipedia: In second place most of the season behind the Chicago Cubs, the Mets were in third place, 9.5 games back, on August 13.[3] They won 14 of their last 17 games during August, and 24 of their 32 games during September and October, to surge past the Cubs, finishing 100–62, eight games ahead of the Cubs. That 17 game differential is one of the largest turnarounds in MLB history.
Cubs, a history of choke. In 1970 fans petitioned to change Wrigley Field to Dr. Henry Heimlich Stadium.
The curse of the billy goat always prevails.
ETA: LA fans are starting a “Go fund me” to get Steve Bartman front row seats.

We’ve got Kershaw and Rich Hill up next. I think it’s going to go the full seven games. The Cubs will probably win on Sunday, but the Dodgers got a lot farther than I thought considering all the injuries they had.

@Punchy: Holy Cheese-sauce, lets never do that again. I’ll take the win, but the BP didnt need that trial run.

A Chicagoan for 42 years. All Southside. There were creatures within the city. . . SOME Chicago fans who rooted for both. There were many, we are Chicago,: Who can root for both Chicago teams… was there cry. . . They were many . . .some minorities. . .
We grew up in the poorer neighborhoods. The minorities had more interest in a team that was owned by a struggling baseball family (Bill Vecke- sounds like like Wrecks) than a Northside band of players paid by Wrigley gum and eventually bought by the Tribune Newspaper.
The SCrubs were always the media darlings. The Southside Sox were the always underdogs. The Northside, a vibrant area where fancy restaurants opened and the Southside was the targeted search for a take out polish, pork chop (with bone chop on white bread) and of course. . . . White Castles.

@Prescott Cactus: Fuck the ’69 Mets & their fans with rusty chainsaws. Yours very sincerely, Baltimore.

@Prescott Cactus: First, even though the Cubs lead the series, and even if they were not the Cubs, I would think the Dodgers still have a very good chance to win the series with Kershaw and Hill pitching in games 6 and 7. This team itself of course does not have any history, but the fans I expect will be expecting that Charlie Brown trying to kick the football moment this weekend.
As Cubs fan, I am trying to be as “Zen” as I can be at this moment. Try not to look forward, just enjoy the players successes when the occur.

Why do the Cleveland Indians not get more love around here?

@Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious:
I wonder that myself
Of course the Cubs are simply letting it all hang out now that they have found their offense.
Bitter Scribe
Boy did the Cubs ever need that win. I did NOT want to watch an elimination game with Kershaw on the mound.
So glad to see Russell and Rizzo finally wake up at the plate. Baez continues to light up my life.
