Wow, election day is Nov. 28th? That should make for some interesting Thanksgiving banter, though the timing sucks for folk who work retail being it’s the Monday after Black Friday.
Sm*t Cl*de
Hard to argue with a self-description like that.

@BillinGlendaleCA: Maybe Presidential candidates will be really really discounted by then? Found is all the better Campaign Outlet Malls.

Those poor people at The Onion, The Late Show, Full Frontal, The Daily Show, all the rest…
Their creative energies are not needed during this presidential campaign. All they need to do is roll the tape of the most recent Drumpf rally.

Yes, Trump supporters, vote on November 28th. That’s the ticket.

Al Gore will have his revenge! Love the Luntz quote, GOTV for the win.

What our media have learned from this election:
(1) “Wall-to-wall, policy- and context-free coverage of the ferret-wearing shitgibbon made us a butt-load of money,” and
(2) “More, please.”

@scav: The wife told me that Macys(her employer) is opening at 4:30pm on Thanksgiving Day for Black Friday. UGGGGHHH.

Obviously, the Dems did better, but both numbers seem low for a month-long total. Anyone know if the Dem number is a good one?
BillinGlendaleCA
@Botsplainer: If she has to work then(probable), we’ll do Thanksgiving Wednesday night.

@BillinGlendaleCA: Hopefully the kid’s schedule won’t be a problem with that plan now that’s she’s no longer ‘the nursing student’ and is now a nurse.
OzarkHillbilly
@BillinGlendaleCA: Watch, her schedule will be Wed Thur and Fri.
BillinGlendaleCA
@OzarkHillbilly: Heh, she only works 3 days a week, but it’s 12 hour days.
ETA: The other thing I can complain about is there will be NO parking on my street on Black Friday, I’m about 3 blocks from the mall and the fuckers park here and walk to the mall AND I have to drive madame to the mall.
OzarkHillbilly
@BillinGlendaleCA: That would be your daughter’s schedule.
BillinGlendaleCA
@OzarkHillbilly: Yes, I don’t think they have them work 3 days consecutively.
ETA: My Black Friday rant was just a general rant.
OzarkHillbilly
@BillinGlendaleCA: My hospital employed brother and SIL both get the 3/12 work schedule too. It’s a pretty sweet deal. Of course in their case it means they only get 1 full wkend a month together.
BillinGlendaleCA
@OzarkHillbilly: I think she works Mon, Wed, Fri; I know she was off last Sunday since she put up a video of her at the Rams game. I haven’t talked to her since she stood me up on our hike to Mt. Lowe(she had a good excuse, she came down with a cold).
OzarkHillbilly
@BillinGlendaleCA: I don’t know. I’m pretty sure my brother has his 3 days in a row as he has spoken of how much he enjoys his 4 day wkends (It’s really funky how it gets scheduled and I can’t recall the details now). Of course, I suppose different hospitals will do it differently.
trnc
@Sm*t Cl*de: Oh, it will be more than an asterisk if HO successfully sets the GOP on fire.
OzarkHillbilly
@BillinGlendaleCA:If you love her, really love her, you will never let her go to another Rams game. They are hazardous to one’s mental health.
BillinGlendaleCA
@OzarkHillbilly: I don’t think she has too much of a choice being that she’s new. She working on the floor now, but next spring she’s supposed to be moving to the OR(she likes that work).

I’m trying to think of the most Luntzian spin on the voter registration disparity. So far, I’ve come up with these.
“Republican voter confidence.”
“Liberal registration panic.”
“Fuck it. Just fuck it. I’ll be at the bar.”
Any to add?
BillinGlendaleCA
@OzarkHillbilly: I went to one in 1979 and I’m still haunted by the experience. On the other hand her BF is a Chargers fan, there’s an exercise in futility.

Wait, who is Donald Trump? The name seems familiar – have I heard it at all in the past few months?
BillinGlendaleCA
@OzarkHillbilly: The good thing about when I saw the Rams play in 79 was it was free(my former and future roommate’s dad got tickets and parking), they were playing the 49er’s, and OJ was still playing for the 9er’s.

So Assange isn’t aware of how he’s fucking himself in every orifice with this hacking shit. He always had a somewhat plausible excuse on Manning’s crime (which was, at its heart, Manning’s crime); but now, he’s a material conspirator in a targeted set of unauthorized cyber invasions.
That’s a whole different pot of shit.
Ecuador is going to find itself in an awkward spot, given the target of the incursions and the sort of policies the beneficiary of the incursions would have enacted.
How long until it cuts its losses, and how different will Julian’s life be in Leavenworth?

@Baud:
I don’t know, this late in the campaign getting almost 7,000 new registrations seems pretty good. I wouldn’t count on many of those 6,920 potential votes actually being cast. With the wall-to-wall coverage of this campaign and the amount of media attention that has been given to all things Trump, anyone not registered by September probably doesn’t care much about the outcome. That is particularly likely for Democratic registrants, since so many always have something better to do on election day. (And, now, with so much early voting, absentee voting, and mail-in voting, you really have to be apathetic to not manage to get your ballot filled out and delivered.
The number I would like to see is how many people refused to register even though all it took was a few minutes and a little bit of printing.
BillinGlendaleCA
@Botsplainer: I think he’d end up in Florence Supermax, he’s not military.

The Bobic tweet confuses me. Is Trump promising that there will be rallies if he wins? Why? Does he know the campaign ends whether you win or lose?
Maybe I’ll just make myself crazy if I try to parse meaning into a Trump quote. His voters probably don’t, they just hear “blah blah blah Crooked Hillary blah blah great again”
TS
So Joke and his fool Halperin seem to be accepting that Trump has lost. Now as usual Joke is saying “as I told you last week” – b.s. but Halperin is rabble rousing the civil war – it’s going to be 35% of the population that hates the media and the Clintons and Paul Ryan.
They talk more b.s in this show than Trump talks at his rallies.
Edit: Cancel that – they still think Trump can win. Why do I ever turn it on.

In Washington state:
“According to the Secretary of State’s Office, 27,601 people statewide signed up to vote online Monday — the state’s voter registration deadline — breaking a record set the day before, when 23,167 voters registered to vote.
“We are ecstatic to see more than 50,000 new registrations in the past 48 hours,” said Secretary of State Kim Wyman in a news release.”
Kay
@Baud:
I can never make heads or tails of it in Ohio. Maybe the ratio means something, 5 to 1 for D v R or something, but you would need much better analysis to come up with a real comparison, because voters also drop off every year- they move, die or “become inactive”. The reporting on it is cyclical in Ohio- between 2008 and 2012 they said Democrats “lost” 300k D voters (not sure what that means) and then Democrats said they registered 220k new voters btwn 2011 and 2012.
Someone could do it I guess- count this in some reliable way that means something- but it’s more complicated than just comparing monthly totals of new voters.
The only thing the Obama campaign used was early/absentee votes CAST- that’s a “banked” vote. Reliable. If the votes are cast in a D county where he needs a huge margin and they have a number they need in that county (as a total) that’s “10% there” or “25% there”.
Kay
@TS:
I forgive them that because if they made any kind of definitive call that really would drive down turnout and affect the race. They can’t do that. They shouldn’t do it.
