Portugal are SO dramatic. It is like watching a tragic opera.

Sometimes both teams are so terrified of risking anything that I wish they could just go straight to the penalty shootout. This looks like one of those times.

Nice to see Croatia making a contribution to gender equality. I don’t think 10 – 15 years ago the Croatian goalie would have worn that color.

If I have to watch an extra 30 minutes of this, I have to consider if it would be better to take up knitting or something.

@Runt: I cut the lawn yesterday. Maybe I should go watch it grow back.

@SRW1: That’s Nike, not social awareness.
There is Champions League quality across the field and this plays like Charlton v Sheffield Wednesday during a February match.

Croatia deserved more, at least they mounted an attack over the last 20 minutes.

They just interviewed Pepe on television here and this Brazilian was speaking with a Portuguese accent. Who the fuck does he think he is? Brad Friedel?

@Randinho:
I spent five years in and around Hawaii with a lot of time spent with Locals and by the time I left I had the pidgin down with the rhythm and accent to sound like I was born on the North Shore. It doesn’t take me long to pick up a regional accent, comes with with a good ear.

@humboldtblue: Yeah, but he was saying specific words like gente, which Brazilians would say like jen-chee as jen-tay. That’s a marked difference.
