Pursuant to the comments on this post, a final update from commentor Sempronia:
Okay then, how’s 6:30 for people? Kings Row Gastropub is at 20 E. Colorado Blvd. in downtown Pasadena. You can take the Gold Line to Memorial Park or Del Mar stations, or park in the Green St. structure, which offers 1.5 hrs free parking.
Everybody enjoy the party, and send pics if you wanna gloat for the rest of us!

That should work for me. Do we have any sort of recognition symbol or something?
schrodinger's cat
@dmsilev: Green balloons! I thought you lived in Windy city.
ruckus
@dmsilev:
It’s more fun to guess.
However I am the old guy with a full beard and I’ve met some of the folks coming.
dmsilev
@schrodinger’s cat: I moved west last fall. It’s …different.
schrodinger's cat
@dmsilev: I miss the greenery of New England whenever I am in dry California. The ocean views are great, though.
dmsilev
@schrodinger’s cat: I actually miss winter. People here look at me like I’m crazy when I say that. Of course, people here bundle up when the temperature hits the mid to upper fifties.
schrodinger's cat
@dmsilev: I like winter for the most part, do not like driving in the snow and ice though.

OMG, I had no idea. Just clicked the home page and saw this. most excellent; I shall be there. Wait, where is it again? [re-reading post again] Ah, Memorial Park station or Del Mar Station. Got it.
(just saw it on the map. So that’s what the 35er has become! All rightie then. Seems suitable for this crew!)
Punchy
Pasadena? Why, was it going too slow? Perhaps I’d float over there, consume some Rose wine and a bowl of pad thai, then parade down to another fine drinking establishment. There’s at least 10 to 12 good places to eat, if you have a Big appetite and can Pac it all in.
Gin & Tonic
@schrodinger’s cat: You can actually have both greenery *and* ocean views on this side.
The Golux
@dmsilev:
I’m not terribly fond of winter, but spring in New England is glorious, and the awakening wouldn’t be the same without winter preceding it.
schrodinger's cat
@Gin & Tonic: True, but I live too far inland for the ocean views. My fault entirely.
Mnemosyne
I’m still wavering on if I can get there tonight or not. It’s a helluva busy week, and I need at least one night at home or this introvert gets very cranky.
EL
@The Golux: I miss fall, the real fall with gorgeous foliage changes and crisp air. But I do like Pasadena.
BillinGlendaleCA
@ruckus: I’ll be wearing a UCLA t-shirt, but you already knew that.
Uncle Ebeneezer
I am playing a gig in Glendale from 7-10 so I probably won’t make it. But hopefully next time.
BillinGlendaleCA
@dmsilev: You can always go to the mountains in the winter and get your fill.
BillinGlendaleCA
@Uncle Ebeneezer: Where are you playing your gig?
BillinGlendaleCA
@Mnemosyne: I joined the Huntington today.
Uncle Ebeneezer
@The Golux: What is this “Spring in New England” thing that you speak of? In 14 years living there I remember brutal Winters and then (blink) hot/humid Summer. I don’t think I saw a real honest-to-goodness Spring until I went to school in Delaware.
FALL on the other hand…we’re planning a trip back to New England in October to try and catch the Fall foliage. How I do miss that time of year.
Uncle Ebeneezer
@EL: Try the Sierras in mid-to-late October. We went to June Lake in early October of this past year and we were a bit too early (though we saw SOME color.)
This site is fantastic for trying to nail the timing.
Uncle Ebeneezer
@BillinGlendaleCA: Glendale Community College graduation. We play 8:15-9:45.
BillinGlendaleCA
@Uncle Ebeneezer: Ahhh, my former next door neighbor was a poli sci prof there.
dmsilev
@BillinGlendaleCA: I’ll be boringly dressed (blue polo, slacks).
BillinGlendaleCA
@dmsilev: I’m going to head over a bit early and take some pics, I’m going to leave after taking my girls out for their walk. It’ll be nice meeting you.
ETA: Topping off the battery in the IR camera right now.
JWR
I’m mainly a lurker, (but I really am much more loquacious in person than I am in these here comment threads. ;-P I’m quite near Olde Towne, but alas, I’m also in chronic and severe pain, (Neuralgia in my right foot. Ouch!), which makes socializing difficult at best, and impossible at worst. But I sure wish I could make it, if only to meet some of all y’all clever kids. Have fun!
dmsilev
@BillinGlendaleCA: See you in a bit, then.
Mnemosyne
@BillinGlendaleCA:
Nice! It’s a great place for photography.
I may drag G with me tonight — I think you and Ruckus would like him.
Rob Lll
Man, I would love to come but am down with a summer cold. Bleah. Have fun and post lots of pics!
dmsilev
Anyone else here yet? I’m out back for now.
Susan K of the tech support
Getting a late start.

We’re on the patio — look for Bill’s UCLA shirt. There are about 8 of us.
