Go ahead and hate, haters — he’s fully prepared to lose 49 states in his quest to stop Trump!
Code refresh yields: Con man can’t lead party of Lincoln and Reagan! KKK! Trump shares Hillary Clinton’s views on Planned Parenthood! Illegal workers built Trump Towers! Trump University is a scam!
Gyad, I can’t tell you how much I enjoy watching Jeb Bush’s turncoat protégé fail. Will his development team stick with the same software version for Thursday’s debate or upgrade again?

You know what is even more embarrassing than Rubio? The MSM pimping of Rubio.

@schrodinger’s cat: He’s the taste of a new generation!

Rachel Maddow did a bit on Rubio last night where she was like..
” He finished THIRD here, here, here, here, here….”
LOL
I admit..watching the GOP talk about rigging it so that Trump doesn’t get enough delegates….it’s sorta stunning to me. I sorta want to see them try it.
amk
just wait till uncle ben’s base goes all rubio.
Cermet
Glad this “even lower IQ” than bush the cheney hand puppet is not going to run for POTUS in the general election.
Gin & Tonic
Even though I successfully ignored the last two GOP debates, I am glad I’m boarding an airplane out of the US for this one.

@schrodinger’s cat: Both Sides Do It cannot fail, it can only be failed. And the MSM will be damned before they let BSDI be failed.
If Trump wins, they will no longer be able to claim BSDI without completely losing their credibility, thus they must pretend that Rubio can still win.
NR
I think the best scenario for us would be a brokered convention. Unfortunately, the Republicans’ delegate rules make that an unlikely prospect. Many of the states coming up are winner-take-all or winner-take-most.
On the bright side, losing his home state to Trump might end this little shit’s political career. Doesn’t help us in November, though.
DCF
I predict Rubio will be gone before Florida…his poll numbers there are abysmal…where do you go after you get smoked in your own state?…put a fork in him, he’s done….
JPL
Actually I’m excited about the Romney speech. Nothing says inclusion as someone who separates the country into makers and takers. I seem to remember that Romney wouldn’t release all his tax returns. hmmm
btw .. Is Steve Scalise still majority whip? David Duke wants to know.

Re-posting from end of prior thread:
Oregon to raise minimum wage up to close to $15/hr over a six year period. I believe it was just a few weeks ago that someone (Cacti, I’m pretty sure) told us all that a $15 minimum wage was a fantasy and that any Dem candidate (Sanders) who claims it’s achievable must be lying.

Marco Rubio is like Al-Qaida’s elusive #3 man. He gets killed in airstrikes every month but still lives to be killed again.

Does anybody (Democrat or Republican) give a shit what Rmoney has to say about the state of the 2016 presidential campaign? Just another loser masturbating in public.

@JPL: And hearing from yet another of the Loser Rinos forced down their pure throuts by those eee-lllleeeets is so going to be calming and convincing.

@Felonius Monk: The Beltway media cares. Ann Romney cares. Ann Romney’s horse probably couldn’t care less.

There’s got to be a reason the establishment is so tepid re: Rubio.
Plenty of candidates for this reason come to mind, but honestly, it’s just so apparent to everyone.

@Felonius Monk: As I mentioned in comment 10, I’m excited. He’s going to condemn Trump for being exclusive. Maybe he’ll mention that you aren’t suppose to be so blatant.

Rubio is on the “State a Month” strategy. He won Minnesota this month, then it will be Wisconsin in April, Oregon in May, South Dakota in June, which establishes the Big Mo into the convention in July.
WarMunchkin
@NR: I’m actually curious what would happen if the Republicans actually *did* decide to play zone defense to pull that off. I think they’d fall in by November anyway.
@Anoniminous: Speaking of South Dakota, I didn’t know President Black Ninja lost it just 53-45. We could actually win it one of these days.
beltane
@JPL: I am looking forward to Trump’s response. He has already called Romney the worst presidential candidate in history, but there is room for him to elaborate further.

And Chris Christie gets even more unpopular.

According to a poll conducted by Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind, Christie dropped about 6 percent (from 33 percent to 27 percent favorable) after endorsing Donald Trump Friday.

@NR: How many people will care about the conventions come, say, October 1st? The news media and the American public have the attention spans of meth-head ferrets. I think if a brokered convention results in someone who’s good on TV, people will accept their marching orders and vote for him.

@rikyrah: which is exposing them for who they are, if you’re “not in the club” then they’ll try and screw you, been an incredibly effective strategy in the statehouses with the sudden crop of measures designed to “preserve the integrity of the ballot” and “ensure women’s health care”.
If you’re not paying attention, well, they’ll make sure that there’s plenty of Dancing With The Stars and The Bachelor for you to atrophy those brain cells to keep you that way.
It’s a great scam, decry that government doesn’t work, get elected, make sure that government doesn’t work..
What worries me most, is that all of these guys will fall in line behind the guy at the top of the ticket, whoever that is, and they’ll sweep into office with that clown show of a Congress and we will then get to watch two years of purity games and waiting to see if these fuckers bring back the 1350’s.

Bonus is the thought of Jeb sitting at home in impotent rage that he did even worse than the little robot.

Speaking of dogs, someone posted about Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs on Monday. I had never heard of the breed so I googled it and mentally noted that they look short-haired Bernese Mountain Dogs. Yesterday I was getting my mail and damned if a woman didn’t walk by with on. I asked her if it was Greater Swiss Mountain Dog; she looked stunned and said yes but no one has ever recognized his breed before. So I explained to her about my imaginary friends at this right wing turned left political web log that also caters to dog and cat lovers. After that, she quit walking by my house.
Beautiful dog, though. Would love to know more about them as pets.

Roger Ailes jumps ship (the Rubio boat must really be rocking now)

@WarMunchkin:
With states like South Dakota it is better to look at the actual numbers than percentages. In 2012 it was Obama 145,039 (39.87%) to RomBot 210,610 (57.89%). Or a 65,571 winning margin. Given there is ~613,190 total Voting Age Population in SD and only 355,649 (58%) bothered to vote there is, in theory, room for Democrats to take the state.
First have to figure out why 42% of the population didn’t bother.
Iowa Old Lady
What possessed Christie? He’s surely signed his death warrant in the Republican party. Does Trump have something on him? He sent Christie home like a stray dog.
Bnad
Imagining a stentorian talking head asking “isn’t Hillary JUST as exTREME as Donald Trump?”
Jeffro
@JPL:
Also, nothing says “the Republican Party doesn’t exist anymore” like having Mitt Romney try and talk up non-Trump alternatives when a) the Trump Train is long past the point of being derailed and b) the alternatives are many, and extremely unappealing.
What’s he going to do, offer himself up? THAT’ll certainly bring those Trump voters ‘home’.

So Romney sweeps in to the rescue and picks Rubio as VP. The first robot-robot ticket.
NR
@Mingobat f/k/a Karen in GA: I believe the Republican rules say that their nominee has to be someone who won delegates from at least eight states. I suppose they could just change the rules if they wanted to, but then they’d be fielding a candidate who no one voted for in the primaries. That would be a risky proposition at best for them. That’s one of the only scenarios where I can see a significant number of Republicans not supporting their nominee.
Jeffro
@Iowa Old Lady:
What possessed Christie?
1) A failed bully falling into line behind an even bigger bully.
2) Sheer hatred of how the ‘Establishment’ decided Rubio was the better bet
3) Sheer self-hatred at how low he had already gone, in order to undo the “Obama hugger” perception
4) Envy at how Trump is able to vent and vent and pay no price for it
If he was mad before, he’s got to be over the edge by now…no place left to call home, no future in politics or governance of any kind…where are the Emperor/Darth memes? I fully expect some geek more talented than myself to have photoshopped Christie’s and Trump’s faces onto the post Obi-Wan-lava-pit-duel by now…

@SiubhanDuinne:
I’ll bet that meth head ferrets are lower maintenance pets than this danged English Bulldog.
But, as always, go Dawgs!
Jeffro
@dedc79: That’s a good point…Romney details Trumps numerous vulnerabilities and heresies, points out that Rubio’s not up to it, Cruz is unacceptable too and therefore for the good of the GOP, everyone (and their checkbooks) need to get behind Kaisch’s “moderate”, “unifying”, message.
Or vice versa on Rubio and Kaisch, who knows? But I think he gets behind Kaisch and calls for Cruz and Rubio to drop out.
Tissue Thin Pseudonym
It’s pretty clear that Rubio is tanking this campaign season in the hopes of securing the first draft pick.
Grumpy Code Monkey
Here’s how Red State is playing it: Rubio Gets a Win, Cruz Overperforms, Trump Underperforms. They really want Rubio to be their nominee:
Except, per Fivethirtyeight, Trump actually overperformed in the number of delegates he needed to get, and both Cruz and Rubio underperformed significantly.
Yeah, it’s possible Trump could face-plant in later primaries and not clinch the nomination outright, but that doesn’t feel likely to me at this point.
I did my duty yesterday. Since we didn’t do the Texas Two-Step this year, the county convention is open to pretty much anybody who voted in the primary, and I’m going to go this year. Never done it before, want to see the chaos first hand.
