For anyone who didn’t see this last night…
Commentor Elmo (from the DC area) mentioned she was in the Windy City, and local Eric S suggested an after-work meetup. The two of them will be at the George Street Pub, 2858 N Halsted St. (773-661-6635) on Tuesday evening starting 6:30pm CST.
Note from Eric:
I will be there just after 6PM. I’m a regular. They sponsor my softball team. Anyone asking for Eric from Sunday Softball should be directed to me.
I’m gonna assume lurkers, spouses & acquaintances welcome, as usual.
Former lurker MGB has rsvp’d already, and beloved commentor Satby (plus her two exchange students) said she’ll do her best…

Right now we’re planning on it. The girls think it’s odd and funny (in a good way) that we’re driving to Chicago to meet people we don’t know IRL.
The adventure never ends around here ;)

I have successfully purchased Green Balloons! I also wore a green shirt just in case my search failed.

I would have liked to attend but I do not think my freshly fixed rotator cuff is ready for the after work Brown Line crush. Sadly, these days the only time I get to my old ‘hood is when I have an appointment at Illinois Masonic.

Have fun tonight, citymates! Don’t forget your brollies…looks like it’s going to pour all night.
Prescott Cactus
Have a great evening, even if you will be on the Northside. . .
ChiGail
it’s my old hood too, but weather and Brown line conspire to keep me home (Loop-ish) tonight. Have fun!

Tuesdays are bad for me. If I’m not picking up the stray kitten lad from yesterday’s bleg (haven’t heard back), I will be tabletop gaming up in Palatine at Durty Nellie’s.
Christopholes
Probably will make it.

Sorry, if this were on the weekend, I could make it, but DeKalb’s a bit of a drive from Chi-town and I have to work early.

@delk: I will be walking over from Illinois Masonic after a P.T. session. A session of physical therapy for my surgically repaired rotator cuff.

I work 10 blocks away and would LOVE to attend . . . except I feel like crap on toast today and wish that I were home right now with tea and the cat, rather than trying to finish something that must! be! done! this! week!!

@Eric S.: My PT is at Illinois Bone and Joint — 150 N Michigan. Had my surgery January 4th.
Louis
Ouch, next time. It would have been great to be there.

@delk: Mine was a big bad tear. Instead of the ligament separating from the bone the ligament and muscle were tearing apart. Tomorrow will be the 1 year mark since my surgery. I’m the longest term rehab they’ve ever had for a shoulder. I was cleared to start tossing a ball yesterday. I think I’m finally about done. I see the doc next Monday. We’ll see if I get my release.
ETA: If you have to ride the El put your sling back on even if you don’t need it regularly. People generally will give you space and understand why you have to hold on with the good arm only.

I will be nursing my bad rotator cuff , which has not had surgery. We can form a club.
We’ll be getting on the highway from Michigan in about 1/2 an hour since it’s going to be a rush hour drive all the way. Looking forward to seeing those who can make it.

Arrived absurdly early bearded guy at the bar

@Eric S.: Damn, that sounds nasty. Here’s hoping you get the clearance.
Yesterday was only my third PT session, so I have a ways to go. I’m shooting for September and then the other shoulder will have to be done.
On the plus side I have the same therapist that I had for my fractured spine.

@satby: As long as the club doesn’t involve any sort of vigorous handshaking. :-)

Picture to come, an enjoyable time was had by all.
