For the UK night shift. From commentor LF:
I am a US citizen living in the UK. I know you have other UK readers so I thought I’d take the chance of asking for your help for this little mite.
We live out in the countryside and found this cat wandering a back lane, much as John found Rosie. We knew right away that she had been dumped and, when we took her to the vet, they confirmed that her microchip is registered to an address 100 miles away. The owners are not answering messages.
We recently took in a stray cat who isn’t getting on with our other two, so I don’t think we can handle a fourth. But she is 8 years old and, if I can’t find her a home myself, her prospects aren’t good.
I will drive her anywhere in England if some kind Balloon Juicer has room for her.
She is petite, loving, sweet, clean and – according to the vet – seems perfectly healthy other than needing her teeth cleaned. She’s calm and non-confrontational around other cats. She loves to sit on your lap, and purrs loudly whenever she gets any affection. She’s already stolen my husband’s heart and will do the same to anyone who meets her…

Anybody who’s interested, or who has a lead for a potential home for this sweetie, leave a comment. Or email me — click on my name in the right-hand column, or annelaurie (at) verizon dot net — and I’ll forward your message to LF.

LF why don’t you find the nearest RSPCA office near to where you live and register the cat/ward with them? They will do their best to place the cat in a secure and safe home.
RSPCA stands for Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Their Offices are over the place. Please check on internet.

@Professor, I know the RSPCA but she would just end up in a shelter while they found a home and I would rather find one for her. I do have some possibilities :)

Good luck, kitty.

If you took our current teeny-tiny Maine Coon clone Annie and gave her the coloring of our late tortie Natasha, that’s exactly what she’d look like. What a cutie.

From the original post, comment #44:
Can someone please get in touch with Heather?

She looks just like my Mugsy. I live so very far away, but I wish you luck and thank you for your kindness.

Forwarded (and FB posted) to my friend in Cumbria. I sure hope the little darling finds her way to her new home soon.

I shared and tagged several UK friends and asked them to share as well (on FB) so I have high hopes for this pretty lady.
@lf: do let us know what the outcome is, and thank you for rescuing her.

This is all over southern England and Yorkshire via my archaeology pals. Will report back.
