New Erick Erickson Tweet: Donald Trump did a bad to a lady.
Old Tweet: The pussy is a demon. You must make it your slave. All glory to food.

Not telling anyone how to be, but I would be interested to see how Donald Trump reacts to being interrupted by Black Lives Matter chants.

Apart from more of the same, what’s on the agenda as we wrap up the weekend?

In spite of his long career as caveman with regards to women, Erickson now finds himself kicked out of the He-Mans Woman Hating Club and relegated to the ranks of effete, latte drinking, libtards. He might as well go buy some arugula and Dijon mustard today.
Trentrunner
Finally! A thread to tell my story:
Erick Erickson has a very tiny dick.
This is not a metaphor, or an insult. It’s a statement of fact based on my own observation.
This is was in a locker room six years ago.
Erick had a very tiny dick, like a little piglet in a little flesh blanket.
And now some of you know that fat guys have some disadvantage in the presentation department because the surrounding fat crowds and obscures the member.
This was not the case with Erick, though he is fat (and why he was at the gym, bless his heart).
No, Erick’s little–and I mean little–Erick would be tiny even if he were thin, because it’s really, really small. It’s really just a clitoris with a Napoleon complex.
Anyway, thought y’all should know.

Erickson didn’t dump Trump for being a misogynist. He dumped him for insulting Megyn Kelly. It’s not about being PC. It’s about kicking the wrong person.

@Jinchi:
Yes. Also, Trump is, rhetorically, the id unconstrained by the ego or superego. He’s not coding anything, and for some Republicans, that’s a little too revealing for them.
FlyingToaster
@Kropadope: Nope, it was a venue problem.
Fanueil Hall / Quincy Market is a tourist trap (between Haymarket/Government Center and the North End/Waterfront), so from a financial perspective, it’s simple. You are open when the venue tells you to be open. Or you are elsewhere. The City of Boston owns this venue; their instructions to their management firm (the odious Ashkenazy) is “here are the hours we want this joint open, to fleece the tourists. Make it so!”
Had Chick-Fil-A wanted to open in Copley or the Pru or South Bay or any other private development, they would have had no problem getting a license. Getting their landlord to go along with being closed on Sunday? Heh.
Note: Chick-Fil-A is in a two of (suburban) Simon’s mall food courts, which shocks me. But if Burlington and NorthShore can afford a dead Sunday zone, fine.

@Kropadope:
They’re a regional chain of ice cream shops. Every summer they have special flavors that they only sell in their stores. They usually sell out pretty quickly.

“… The Republican base isn’t looking for specific policy fixes. They’re looking for a cultural warrior and savior who will put the last 60 years of progress back in a bottle and give them their country back”.
So says David Atkins at Washington Monthly.com. He’s right. Those people are looking for a flesh and blood version of the Reagan of myth they themselves began to conjure out of thin air even while he was still president.

@trollhattan: This story’s interesting because it involves the governor’s brother. (And Gov. bravely declined to comment.)

Donald Trump’s Twitter stream is a hoot. Is this what the Sadly, No crew is up to these day?
scav
@redshirt: I somehow doubt that W has any real personal interest in understanding what that so called “common” man deals with. Especially as it actually probably involves dealing with lawn clippings rather than the far more interesting tinged with movie-land mystique “brush”.
Clearing junk trees and such is rather fun though and feels far more like accomplishing something than weeding that dratted little stuff. Plus, then, the burning.

It’s hot and steamy here on Edisto Island. We’ve been here three times in August and I have never caught a fish despite trying ALL the time! There is surf fishing and the Editso River on the backside of the island. I was getting stuff out of the car this morning when I saw guys across the street cleaning fish. They had caught two nice redfish and a big flounder in a brackish waster lake that is bordered on three sides by a golf course. I grabbed some live shrimpies and gave it a shot. Amazingly I caught a legal 23 inch redfish and several young cobia, The cobia went back but the red is dinner!

@Tree With Water:
Well the Fundies do need to worship Reagan. He gave them a seat at the adult table of the GOP and they have never looked back in their political loyalty and rise to power.
But now the Fundies basically have all the seats in the GOP and are finding out how much the rest of the country does not care for what they are serving.
Edit: With Reagan’s brand of conservatism, there were still enough differences in the GOP that Reagan had an angle to sell to others in his own Party. Now they all agree on the same thing, say the same talking points, so there’s no real product differentiation to sell. And they just do not want to accept it.

just gotta nitpick because Stuck In The Middle With You is a favorite song of mine, but the line is:

J R in WV
Well, the Brownback family saga was pretty interesting. Not a surprise, though.
The republicans run for office to gain power, which they want for its own sake, to use against anyone they please. In this case, it’s obvious that Sam doesn’t give a rat’s ass how his brother Jim treats the neighbors around the old home town.
Typical right-wing misfeasance, just like the way Sam is running the state, Jim gets to mistreat the neighbors while Sam mistreats the rest of the state. There was a story a while back about a small country town, I believe it was in Arkansas, and there was a bully who ran the town like he owned every resident as his personal slave.
Eventually he got shot down, and would you believe it? There were no witnesses to the shooting. No one was there but the “victim” – no longer able to threaten everyone with his violence. Jim might run into the same problem, some day.
People reach their limit eventually, and defend themselves, even if they know the governor will send in his pet cops to take care of the people who finally had to defend themselves, because the government would not.

re: Sanders Campaign
Bernie has put together a set of principles to guide developing policies that address, and ideally eliminate, racial injustice.
https://berniesanders.com/issues/racial-justice
There have been well over 30,000, respectful, supportive listeners to the strong, clear message that Black Lives Matter at Bernie Sander rallies in Seattle and Portland combined over this last weekend.
Bernie and several preliminary speakers spoke eloquently about Black Lives Matter.
Symone Sanders has been the opening speaker at both rallies, she’s a phenomenal speaker and has spoken eloquently and succinctly about Black lives matter issues.
