Also, the autopsy was released and he was shot six times, twice in the head. The kill shot was at the top of the skull, suggesting he was on his knees as when he was killed, as witnesses stated.
FWIW:
At 6'1" and formerly 290lbs, when I here people talk about Brown's size, all I can think is I don't deserve to be shot cuz y'all are tiny.

Because I love you all, here is a picture of my neighbor’s daughter walking her rabbit earlier this evening:
His name is George, and he may be the softest thing I have ever pet.
Not sure what I am going to do with myself this evening. Probably catch the new episode of Outlander from last night, and maybe catch up on True Blood. I have to wait until Shawn goes to bed, though, because he hates the show and loudly makes fun of it the whole time I am watching it tying to intentionally piss me off and shame me for viewing such garbage.
Oh- just joined the VFD again. I used to be a member in the late 80’s, but membership has dropped. My firefighting days are over, but I can drive the ambulance and will probably take the EMT course and get certified.

It must have been some Democrat who bought a billboard in Cleveland shouting for impeachment with a pair of testicles and an ugly caricature of Obama. John Boehner insists that that the GOP base and a Nugent show’s worth of elected Republicans have absolutely not frothed nonstop about impeaching the President since the day Obama was elected. This constant drumbeat from Boehner’s electorate thus cannot be anything but a grand conspiracy by freemasons, anarchists and Obama’s secret army of Alinskyite New Black Panthers.

The NYTimes interviewed him about the books and writers that had the most influence on his work:
…Whom would you consider your literary heroes?
I would have to say that Mark Twain is up there with the gods and probably cursing it. “Life on the Mississippi” blew my mind. And, of course, reading him meant that I got to read “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court.” I hope it’s still read and that people read the book he wanted people to see, because I know that some editions leave out the fact that the Yankee boy killed most of the famous Knights of the Round Table using electricity. Now that is fantasy.
Which novels have had the most impact on you as a writer? Is there a particular book that made you want to write? It has to be “The Wind in the Willows.” It fascinated me. He had toads living in great country houses and badgers and moles acting like British gentlemen. I read the pages so often they fell apart, and God bless him for leaving in the pieces called “Wayfarers All” and “The Piper at the Gates of Dawn.” I am sorry to say that certain publishers, who really should know better, have produced editions with those pieces cut from that wonderful book, stating they were simply too heavy for children. I scream at stuff like that. After all, “The Pilgrim’s Progress” was a book written for children. A good book, no matter its intended audience, should get people reading, and that’s what started me writing. And once I started, I never stopped…
And if you could bring only three books to a desert island, which would you choose?
“Boatbuilding for Beginners,” “Poisonous Plants of the South Pacific” and a very good seafood cookery book…

Apart from being grateful for the literature we love, what’s on the agenda for the weekend?

All right fine, here’s a picture of the baby.
If you think writing with a cat on your arm is a pain, try it with a 110-pound doberman pressing his chin on your forearm while he stares in your eyes and cries for attention in the same way that a fire alarm gently suggests you leave.
Chat about whatever.

So this passed through my RSS feed from Nature Communications.
Multicolour nonlinearly bound chirped dissipative solitons
Like most of you my brain asked me to please not read that twice. Unlike most of you this falls pretty close to what I get paid to do so I felt obligated to at least try to understand it. Then I says to myself Tim F, says I, this sounds like a varsity challenge in science communication. If internetblog readers can grok why this is new and cool then you sir have made it in the world of unsolicited amateur science writing. You can all grade me at the end to let me know how I did.
Before we get to the meat I’ll toss out this 100% relevant teaser.
