I saw the Music Liberation Orchestra play a few days after Obama was elected in 2008, and it was about the most fun I’ve ever had seeing music live.
This is a great story.

I used to play Charlie’s records during my college radio shows when I was doing jazz programs, and sometimes on the alternative shows too. Not just a jazz great, but a true American progressive also.
Rest in peace, Charlie Haden, or, if there is an afterlife, jam the nights away in beautiful noise.

Peggy Noonan’s border nonsense: Her bizarre view of how “normal people” experience this crisis
satby

Suffern ACE
@raven: some people note that these are kids and so we should have a bit of compassion, noting many biblical injunctions against harming children and strangers. Normal people wonder why we aren’t doing more to blow their legs off, sending the message once and for all that we mean business.

@raven: Fortunately the link wasn’t to her column. Peggy would be doing herself a favor, if she would just outsource her work to Sarah Palin.

@raven: Thanx. A lot. I was happily deluded into thinking she was dead. Now I am forced to acknowledge that I still share my planet with her.

@tybee: I can’t believe they’re all gone. Goddammit.
