From commentor Ann Marie:
I’m an occasional commenter, mainly lurker, on Balloon Juice. In the past BJ has occasionally posted pictures of cats or dogs that need new homes. Would it be possible to do the same for a little kitten, called Ninnie? He’s in the Philadelphia area. A friend of mine, Carla, feeds stray cats that come into her backyard. This kitten started showing up a few weeks ago. A picture she sent me is attached. Here’s what she has to say about him:
“Although he is plump and active, he seems VERY small for a kitty who must be at least 8 weeks old (he has been eating solid food for at least four weeks). He is very, very friendly and tame. He isn’t litter-trained but is young enough that he could be easily trained. He doesn’t seem “slow”, just very small.”
If you’re interested in Ninnie, or have a lead to someone who is, leave a comment or email me — click on my name in the right-hand column, or use annelaurie (at) verizon (dot) net — and I’ll put you in touch with Ann Marie

THAT is one cute ass kitten. I hope they find it a loving home.

OMG, look at those fold-over ears! Squeeee!

I just read through the thread on HRC and Arkansas – this was just the palate cleanser I needed. What a cutie, gaw how I wish I needed a new kitty

This cat is mesmerizing me. I hope everyone knows that black kitties are the best. (Sorry we have no room at the inn.)

bow down to your new feline overlord! bow down I say!
Mnemosyne
Itsy-bitsy flopsy earses! Hopefully the publicity will help him find a home.
MomSense
Sweet little baby. I hope he finds a happy home.

I posted it to FB

What a cutie and I have no doubt that a home will be found. If I lived closer, I’d snatch him for my son, who still hasn’t found the perfect cat to adopt since Mr. Alice passed on.

Shared with friends in Philly!
Tokyokie
I’d take the little guy in a heartbeat if I lived closer. And if the spousal unit hadn’t threatened me with violence if I were to increase the household feline population from 5.

@princess leia: Aw.. good job.

That’s no kitteah; that’s a bear cub!

Floppy ears on a cat are so cute.

Awww… also last night a friend told me he’s trying to find a home for two young kittens. Cats are in northern New Jersey.
p.a.
Without my glasses, my first thought was dear god get that kitten off the hook.
Dee Loralei
Man is he ever adorable. My sister got two new kittens while we were visiting her in Lancaster County a few weeks ago, and I’ve been having kitten envy since.One of my two females hates the other still even after almost 18 months. I thought poor Gabriella needed another kitty to love, she’s been soooo lonely since her brother Moses died of kidney failure. But the newest rescue hates females, or is territorial, or had been an only cat. So, if I did bring another kitten home, I think it’d have to be male. Too bad I’m in Memphis and have just left PA.
How is he with dogs? Does your friend know? I have two Golden’s also and they love the cats and the cats love them.
If you don’t find anyone local, I think I just talked myself into becoming his servant. If we can figure out a way to get him closer to me.
charluckles
Of course kittens should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their fur or their size, but by far the most loving and cherished cat in our menagerie is a tiny black fur ball we had given to us because no one else would take her.
Shazza
I live in Northeast Philly and would be happy to give him a home.

@Shazza: WOOT! You win! No, Ninnie does!!
Jane2
@Shazza: Yay!! That kitty is off the adorable scale.
TaMara (BHF)
@Shazza: Yay!!!!
StringOnAStick
@Shazza: Many good thoughts headed in your direction! It fills me with joy to see these blegs end up happy.

Black cats are the most affectionate of all the ones I’ve ever rescued. Failing a forever home, our new spay/neuter org can squeeze him in as a foster. Having said that, I need to follow up with “the board is going to kill me” because we’re getting out of the adoption biz and into the prevention of unwanted animals biz.
Depending on where Dee is, we can assist with a transport leg too if needed.
satby
@Shazza: whoa! In the time it took me to type! Yay!
princess leia
@Dee Loralei: Yay!
Comrade Mary
Did you hear me yelp all the way from Toronto? I’m sure you did. Although I can’t take that adorable fluffball, I’m —[reads up] yep, Shazza at #20 went for it. Yay!

@Shazza: Yay again!

ROAD TRIP! It’s only 17 hours each way.

@Shazza: You have to promise to keep us updated. What a sweetheart.

@Dee Loralei:
Wish you would adopt that little kitten. He’s perfect. And he’d like you!
@rikyrah:
Seconded.

Distance and location have no factor in pet homing. BJ has a long standing tradition of funding transportation. Little kitten fits in cabin on airplane. Fly up, get met at airport with kitten, fly back. Not even a day. Very likely people here will donate to fund this expedition. And the vet certificate. And the carrying case.
This goes for anyone, anywhere, because there has never been a time on BJ when someone wanted a pet and it needed transport where funding has not been found. People pledge a few bucks at a time, presto, family made.
Or as @burnspbesq said: Road trip.
Relay little kitty to Memphis in 2 hour shifts. Volunteers drive. People pledge to cover gas, carrier big enough for litter box, so no stopping. Or an overnight at a pet friendly motel. (Red Roof Inn’s frequently take cats, stayed in one with cat myself driving cross country. Was fine.)
Elizabelle
“Memphis” would be a good name for this little one.
Litlebritdifrnt
@Shazza: Yet another BJ pet rescue success, as everyone else says, I demand updates as to Ninnie’s progress.

@Dee Loralei:
It always seems problematic to have two female cats together — I’m assuming it’s a territory thing. Strangely, two (neutered) males can be the best of pals, and a male/female pairing almost always works, but two females is definitely tricky.
We have a (neutered) male and two females and everyone gets along fairly well, but the majority of the conflicts are definitely the two females jockeying for position.
ETA: You do realize that WereBear’s solution would be to add a third cat, right? ;-)
Darkrose
@Shazza: Go you! And go painfully adorable kitty!
Patricia Kayden
@Shazza: That’s nice! Beautiful little kitty.
WereBear
Thank you! Yes! Sometimes:
The solution to your cat problem is more cats.
However, in this case, Shazza turns out to need a Ninnie, and all is well! Mazel tov!
shelley
Within reason. You don’t want to turn into an episode of ‘Hoarding’
Dee Loralei
@Shazza: YAY! You! I couldn’t be happier for you both. Please do keep us updated and send in pics to AL after you give him his forever home.
Mnemosyne
@WereBear:
We are convinced that the message Keaton is giving to G when he leaves every morning is, “Have a good day at work, and don’t bring any more kittens home!” Keaton has raised two kittens (and had two additional visiting kittens), and he’s exhausted.
Violet
That is one adorable kitten. I hope the new home works out great. At first I thought the kitty was hanging from the hook. Too cute.
schrodinger's cat
Good things come in small packages. What a cutie. LBC is the perfect accessory to an LBD.
RSR
good job, Juicers! And saves me from having to explain to the mrs. where a little black furball came from
Pogonip
@Mnemosyne: Maybe that’s where “cat fight,” a fight between women, comes from?
That’s one cute furball Shazza’s getting.

SHAZZA ROCKS
:) :) :)
Angela
@Shazza: Yeah! I’m so glad you and the furball found each other.
Ann Marie
Anne Laurie, thanks so much for putting this bleg up. You folks are all wonderful. Shazza, I hope you and Ninnie connect.
Gvg
happy day. Warning the undersized kitten stray I adopted 10 years ago. Grew a pound a month after being dewormed. He turned into a burly 18lb cat twice the size of any cat I’d ever owned and it wasn’t fat till he got older. vet care can matter. he is all black too but tailless not a Scottish fold.
SuperHrefna
Oh this thread did me good! Shazza I hope you and that tiny black fluffball will be very happy together. I lost my black cat last year, and like someone said up thread he was the most affectionate cat I’ve ever owned. I’ve got my fingers crossed that this all works out smoothly for both of you!
WaterGirl
@Dee Loralei: You are such a nice person! So gracious!
Shazza
Thank you, everyone. I have 3 kitties ( and luckily a very nice landlord) and would love to add Ninnie to the clan. Hopefully I’ll be meeting him soon.
PurpleGirl
@Shazza: Hope you and Ninnie do connect and that he fits right into your clan. He’s very cute. And you are great for saying you’d like to have him so quickly. Yay, Shazza and Ninnie.
ruemara
I just want to nom those ears. And those paws. And nuzzle that nose.
@Shazza: Yay, Shazza. Nom all his nomable parts for me.
Samantha George
OMG I WANT HIM.
Ahem. Dignified Lady Pose. But I cannot at this time travel myself or him to this Version of The City, financially. Although I am sure our girls would love him.
Ella in New Mexico
You know, it is down right CRUEL to post this picture-bleg of the most freaking adorable kitten evah when I live 2062.46 miles and
32 hrs and 21 minutes away and can never hope to get there in time before someone else adopts him.
Your Karma awaits you, Anne Laurie, oh cruel one. ;-)
@Shazza:
Oh, and I hate you Shazza. lol ;-)
