This job creator needs a tax cut:
Davenport reported what she saw to Sterling, and according to her testimony, he asked: “Is she one of those black people that stink?” When Davenport told Sterling that Jones wanted to be reimbursed for the water damage and compensated for her ruined property, he replied: “I am not going to do that. Just evict the bitch.”
[….]In 1996, a former employee named Christine Jaksy sued Sterling for sexual harassment. The two sides reached a confidential settlement, and Jaksy, now an artist in Chicago, says, “The matter has been resolved.” But The Magazine has obtained records of that case, and according to testimony Jaksy gave under oath, Sterling touched her in ways that made her uncomfortable and asked her to visit friends of his for sex. Sterling also repeatedly ordered her to find massage therapists to service him sexually, telling her, “I want someone who will, you know, let me put it in or who [will] suck on it.”
Only a jealous left-wing young professional would resent being ruled by people like this.

The Donald Sterling thing reminds me of this bit from Dave Chappelle, no, we are not surprised by racist saying shit, it’s just something is just sooo blatant, you just almost can’t believe it…
“have u had something that was so racist, you didn’t even get mad, ya just think…damn that was racist..”

You know you and all your yuppie friends are just jealous, and would act like this if they could.
Bobo can see into your hearts, you can learn a lot about people at the salad bar.

@lamh36:
That was funny.

Oh but wait. Conservative idiots are already trolling with Sterling “long time Dem” racist tweet. You can see them in Josh Marshall’s timeline.
Sterling who hasn’t donated to any party let alone Dems since ’92!

@lamh36:
I thought that was a joke, but apparently they’re serious.

What’s especially mind-boggling to me is that this whole racist drivel by him is about him not wanting Magic Johnson around. Of all the people he could have singled out for insult, he picked Magic freaking Johnson? One of the most beloved players and human beings to ever play the game?
I don’t know how this prick survives this. And I don’t know how Doc Rivers, Chris Paul and the rest put up with him. Money can only go so far.

@lamh36: I laughed. Then I thought about why I was laughing. Then I laughed some more.

A tax cut? No.
Another kind of cut? In the style of late 18th century France? Deifinitely.
Omnes Omnibus
@Villago Delenda Est: Congrats. You found a new way of expressing it.

Grand Dragon, William Sessions informant, anti-Semite and killer:
Maybe Sterling can get a selfie with this guy.

Imagine Donald Trump and Marge Schott merged together in a single personality and you’ve got Donald Sterling — a gigantic, self-promoting, self-regarding real estate developer asshole, and noted racist, who owns shitty buildings he advertises as ultra-luxe properties and who spends his spare time running a vanity project NBA team that he famously doesn’t give a shit about except insofar as it allows him to claim that he owns an NBA team. That they’re doing so well this year probably surprised no-one more than their very owner. He’s been well known for years for throwing himself these big charity galas to honor his own magnanimosity and advertising them with full-page spreads in the LA Times, mostly to avoid drawing attention to the fact that he’s a huge racist asshole.

The Department of Redundancy Department definitely should list this in their lexicon.

Man has form on multiple fronts. Here are details on one of his former girlfriends and their breakup. Daily Mail, oh well. Dispute over a house he gave her. Charming quotes.
Quotes apparently under oath.. Apparently used later in a federal discrimination case.
Well well, the things I’ve learned today.

Is it wrong that I’m drunk, laying in a hammock 5 feet from the ocean (10 feet from my cottage/screened porch) in a mesh(!) man thong(!!)? Thinking about plunging into some churning salt – already hit the pool.
Wife’s asleep and happy. I’ve got a morning dive planned, so I transitioned to water but still can’t sleep yet.

What a stench upon us this person is!
I’m not a basketball fan, don’t know who this is, but I can smell the stench.
How can anyone be close to him?

Jealous, you are…

@Botsplainer: I am a mountain not a sea guy. Enjoy yourself.

@Omnes Omnibus:
Adore the ocean. I’m genuinely at peace in the water – always have been.
Wife is wanting to go to Everest base camp sometime, though, and I’ve offered to do altitude stuff to work up to it. I think she’s overambitious about that; she got really sick walking through the Salkintay pass in the Andes a couple of years ago (15.5). Took her 3 days to acclimate to Cuzco.
I’m a little less affected by stuff like that.
Omnes Omnibus
@Botsplainer: Went up my first mountain with my dad and grandfather when I was nine. It had an effect.. Also, I am, when in shape, a sinker. Muscle density and such mean that I don’t naturally float. I’d rather ski or hike.
Botsplainer
@Omnes Omnibus:
Getting back into shape meant me learning that I’m now a sinker, too. My ass swings straight for the bottom immediately, so everything about my diving weights has changed – I can actually get away with 12 pounds in my BC in salt water. Because I have a new, light piece of gear, I’m going with 14, because I have no idea how much positive buoyancy I’m going to get as the tank goes below 1000 pounds of pressure – in the past, staying down was sometimes a struggle as air ran down, and it really sucks to struggle for the boat topside.

@Botsplainer: I joined the Arny rather than the Navy for OCS for a reason.

@Omnes Omnibus:
That’s a lame excuse. They taught the guys that didn’t know how to float, or that have a density closer to a VW than a sponge how to keep from going down with the ship. Of course you had to get out of the ship before it went down and they didn’t tell you that. Guess they thought if you couldn’t figure that out, you’d probably have forgotten how to float as well.
Omnes Omnibus
@Ruckus: Okay, I just wanted to jump out of airplanes. The Army let me do that. It was brilliant.
Ruckus
@Omnes Omnibus:
A much better excuse.
Omnes Omnibus
@Ruckus: Do you have any idea how much fun it is to jump? And then they gave me a badge for it.

well if y’all are like me, you’ve had your fill of right-wing commenters weighing in on Bundygate/Sterlingate. Rand Paul has a long, uphill slog if he thinks that in 2 years he’s going to win the GOP nomination in part by sounding more moderate on racial issues. It’s astounding and disgusting how deep the racial animus is among everyday conservatives. Some guy comes out and says some truly disgusting/clueless things about minorities and on cue they rush to his defense and go on counterattack. The level of derp among the right-wing hoi polloi is mindboggling.
So, while we do all need to show up this November and in 2016, I am not too worried. Our opponents are delusional and foolish. I have full confidence in their ability to shoot themselves in the foot repeatedly as the campaign season heats up.

UPDATE 10:53 A.M. EST:
The NAACP has tweeted that Donald Sterling will not be receiving a lifetime achievement award from its Los Angeles chapter:
Enhanced Voting Techniques
@Omnes Omnibus: supposedly the FDA cheese that is given out for those on public assistance gives the eater and odd body odor. Then again just working hard, something that Mr Sterling likely has never done in his life, can do that too.
