Adorable. Now go to sleep your own self, John Cole.

    Comrade Mary says:

Steve is MELTING me with cute here! Or maybe it’s just secret instructions to his alien masters … oh yeah, as soon as you spoke to him, he stopped transmitting.

And speaking of apnea, the discussion here that followed James Gandolfini’s untimely death finally got me to commit to what my dentist calls an “appliance” and what I call a “Winnebago”. But this ungodly and expensive plastic apparatus is definitely making a difference in the quality of my sleep. My dentist is still adjusting it by increments every month, and I won’t be going back for another sleep study for a while, but I can definitely tell the difference between sleeping with and without it. Thanks!

I gigglesnorted through that whole video, but the best part was [spoiler alert] the “Oh f*ck off” look on his face when you called his name.

@Comrade Mary: Does OHIP cover dental? IIRC BC’s health plan does but it’s limited.

I’m a little partial to Fox in Socks, but The Cat in the Cpap is pretty good, too.

If John thought that the injuries he suffered while trimming the fur on Steve’s posterior were painful, wait until he tries to put the kitty CPAP mask on Steve to alleviate the snoring. Put the paramedics on standby…

    Poopyman says:

Jeezus! He sounds like Darth Vader on a bad day. Ask your vet if he has any kitty nose strips.

    kindness says:

If you thought shaving his ass was fun, go and try to get him to wear one of those CPAP masks.

Duh OH! Same thing was said not 2 posts earlier. Great minds….

I cant believe i watched that video. An entire video of a cat snoring and farting? Might as well have just stayed home.

    Comrade Mary says:

@Yatsuno: Most people don’t get dental coverage through OHIP. There is some support for people on social assistance. I just budget for regular cleanings and eat the cost of occasional fillings. My dentist offers some discounts for not having additional private insurance, plus it’s a tax write-off, so it’s not too bad, but yeah, I would support a tax hike to bundle dental into OHIP.

Just what I do w/my husband when the noise gets a bit much! But seriously, I love that you love every little thing about Steve. Makes for the happiness, no?

All hail Steve! I love him, John but please slow down on the food for him!! Maine Coons can have hip/joint problems so you have to keep them in fighting form.

OMG that little noise he makes is so funny! And I have to add, he’s so FLUFFY!!!!!!!

    GHayduke (formerly lojasmo) says:

    @Comrade Mary:

Yeah, that thing has been a godsend to me. I knew I wouldn’t tolerate a CPAP, and made an appointment to see a dentist on the day of my diagnosis.

    No more palpitations. Yay!

  22. 22
    Comrade Mary says:

@GHayduke (formerly lojasmo): Good to hear it works for you, too! I was not looking forward to a CPAP, either. Plus I have a clenching problem, so I need some sort of bite guard. This device handles both.

But my brother in law has bad apnea that requires CPAP, and his new device is actually pretty minimalist and nowhere near as expensive as I thought. If anyone out there is resisting the CPAP they need because they think it turns you into the elephant man, do some searching.
