Saturday Night Music

Hello kiddies. Did you miss me?

I’ve been quite the jetsetter these last few months, and I regret that I have been neglecting you all. My psychologist, Doctor Manfredsen, says that my blogger fatigue is responding to treatment.

I’m currently holed up in a Moscow airport hotel with no wifi and cockroaches the size of fucking beagles. The blankets made crackling noises when I first sat down on them. Mind you, there’s lots of vodka and a cute night-manager with generous ideas about customer service. Life could be worse.

What are you listening to? Bonus points for gratuitous shirt off action.

    @Redshirt:

    For the last two days I’ve been holed up in a Moscow airport hotel with no fucking wifi. Mind you, there’s lots of vodka.

    More generally, I’ve been wearing off my post-election blogger fatigue. I’m hoping regular posting will kick in any day now.

    How are you? Have you all been behaving in my absence?

    What do you get when you start with a couple of guys from the Mars Volta and add a female singer from a Guadalajara punk band?

    Bosnian Rainbows. Strange, but very interesting.

    I cannot stop listening to Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”. Yes, I know. And every time I hear it, all I can think of is that he is the real-life Mike Seaver.

    Supposedly “Growing Pains” took place in the town in which I grew up. I did not live in a house that nice.

    @Yatsuno: I think it’s hilarious because of it’s randomness. I mean, there’s boobs….and a goat. It’s fabulous.

    The song is catchy as all hell, too. I feel like Justin Timberlake is kicking the hell out of himself for not writing any songs as good as that. The two JT songs on the radio pale in comparison.

    It’s ok. They’ve got him stashed down the hallway in one of the cheap rooms where the inside door handle has “fallen off”. The Ecuadorian ambassador is apparently on his way up to see what my offer is.

    I’m listening to the tv in the background, which is good enough for my tired ass. :) I finally located the source of an annoying noise in the front of the engine in our Mustang, which turned out to be a loose centering ring for the V belt pulley on the SFI harmonic balancer I installed years ago. It’s no real problem other than the annoying noise but I pulled it apart and put a little silicone on it to fix it in place. The company who made it cut the lock ring a few thousandths of an inch short and over the years it gradually wore loose a bit. It really isn’t necessary once the V belt pulley is bolted on but I figured I would keep it in place.

    Rebuilt both alternators while I was at it so they should be good for another 23 years. Yes, two alternators. For the two batteries in the car. Dual ignition systems too.

    We travel in it so I want a reliable and fast car. :)
