Per the Boston Globe:
Halfway though their debate series, Senator Scott Brown and his Democratic challenger, Elizabeth Warren, meet again tonight in Springfield amid polls that still show a close race.
The Republican incumbent and Harvard Law School professor will square off at 7 p.m. EDT for an hourlong debate expected to touch on western Massachusetts and rural issues. It will be shown statewide by NECN.
Boston.com, BostonGlobe.com, and “Political Intelligence” will offer a live blog for a minute-by-minute recounting of the debate, and the homepage will also offer instant fact-checking and analysis.
Among possible subjects of discussion: infrastructure investment, the candidates’ concern about areas away from the capital region of Boston, and challenges to daily life in less populated areas of Massachusetts, such as a lack of access to highspeed Internet service…
Don’t think I’ll be able to live-blog this (we don’t have cable and it’s not clear NECN will be streaming the debate). “West of Rte. 128” is supposed to be Scotty Country — all proud barn-jacket-wearin’, gubmint-hatin’, pickup-drivin’ individualists. Just the sort of place, in other words, where Brown might feel encouraged to go off script and (try to) put the Lady Professor in her place once’n’ferall.
Meanwhile, here’s your cue:

is this their last debate?

The far West of Massachusetts (Berkshire county) always seems pretty blue to me. (Great bumper stickers.) Must be that MA is like PA, Alabama in the middle.

@lamh35: One more after this, on October 30.

Slightly OT, but still Election 2012 so should be okay. Also, I read that even though the top ticket numbers are tightening, the downticket races haven’t been “dragged” down by the top numbers, so I think the polls I’ve seen have Liz Warren still on top right?

Has she asked him yet whey he has the most favorable voting record on Wall St issues in the Senate?

Good grief, Sully is *still* making debate posts (now, Obama has “the worst debate performance in American history”, apparently forgetting W’s “This job is hard” debate, or I guess by using a snap poll to make this decree). I imagine his husband is crawling out of his skin to get away from all the bitching (it has to be even more tedious than what gets through his blog filter)

Are polls still showing Warren ahead?

Sullivan’s a hysteric.
Anyone watch the debate online here

And yet, none of them speaks in anything remotely approaching this accent.

@lamh35:
McCain, running with a cartoon character as a VP pick, with the country falling down an elevator shaft, still got 46.5% of the popular vote.
And Romney’s going to do worse?
MikeJ
You know, morons.

@MikeJ: Whew. So all this white stuff is just marshmallow, then…
I was worried for a minute.

@lamh35:
Obama’s performance was so terrible that it destroyed the very concept of debate. We will never have debates again in the history of Western Civilization. The platonic essence of debate has been nuked from orbit. I’ve seen the future and it is a boot stomping on Andrew Sullivan’s feelings, forever. Debate is what is waiting for you in room 101.
In other words, no.

Yes.

@feebog: I’ll take the over.
No one will lose an election by more than 5% in our lifetimes. There are no more Landons and McGoverns out there, not in the present polarized environment. An orange barrel, winky light and all, off the interstate, gets 45% of the two-party vote, if a major party sees fit to nominate one.

@Davis X. Machina: The is an excellent scene in a Red Skelton movie in which he is enrolled at an all girls school where he has to take a eurythmic dance class. As a former NFL member[1], I would love to see it mixed with debate.
[1] Is this stream crossing again even if it’s not the Alex Karras NFL?
shortstop
@feebog: It’ll be a four-point race, my friend. Four points.
@Davis X. Machina: You mean no one will do it again in our lifetimes. Obama’s seven-point shellacking of McCain was all the more unusual in that non-incumbent presidential elections have stayed within two points for umpteen years. Alas, I think it set people up for unrealistic future expectations.
shortstop
@MikeJ: I’d definitely give half-credit for that crossing, but I’m not that into football, so I may be overruled.
